Objective To evaluate the value of Orthopaedic POSSUM scoring system in predicting mortality and morbidity for the patients underwent femoral shaft fractures.Methods The mortality and incidence of postoperative complications was predicted with in a retrospective study of 155 cases of femoral shaft fractures.Results The estimated incidence of postoperative complications is 45/155, which has no statistical significance with the real incidence 39/155 (?2=0.59,P=0.44), The estimated morbidity by POSSUM is more accurate in high-risk subgroup than in low-risk one. The estimated mortality is 10/155, which also has no statistical significance with the real mortality 8/155 (?2=0.24,P=0.63).Conclusion The POSSUM scoring system can predict postoperative mortality and morbidity for the patients underwent femoral shaft fractures efficiently.

Objective To investigate the effects of hypertonic saline in the treatment of children with critical hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD).Methods The 250 pediatric patients with HFMD hospitalized from January 2011 to Januar-y 2013 in our hospital were randomized into the control group treated routinely and the experimental group treated with hyper-tonic saline on the basis of general conventional treatment .The therapeutic effect and sodium ion concentration in the children of two groups were observed and compared.Results The treatment effect of the experimental group was obviously better than that of the control group (p<0.05).Sodium ion concentration and incidence of adverse reactions in two groups before treat-ment showed no significant differences (p>0.05), while the sodium ion concentration of the experimental group was much higher than that of the control group on the 4th and 6th treatment day (p<0.05).Conclusion Hypertonic saline treatment can significantly enhance the therapeutic effect, increase the sodium ion concentration and improve the prognosis in children with critical HFMD.Therefore, hypertonic saline treatment for patients with clinical HFMD has a very important clinical sig-nificance and it is worth popularization and application.

Objective To observe the effect of PM2.5 on the secretion of NO, ET-1 and the proliferation of rat vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC) in vitro.Methods VSMCs were treated with PM2.5 collected from urban area of Zhanjiang,at the doses of 10,20,50,100 and 200 ?g/ml.After 24 hours of treatment, the levels of NO and ET-1 in the VSMCs were detected by nitrate reductase method and radioimmunoassay respectively, the proliferation of VSMCs was detected by MTT.Results At the concentrations of 10-200 ?g/ml, with PM2.5 increased, the level of NO in VSMCs decreased from(43.53 ?3.46)?mol/L to(29.28?2.28)?mol/L(F=18.89,P

Objective:To observe effects of Shenkui Decoction on proliferation of ovarian cancer cell.Methods:The Shenkui Decoction- containing rat serum was prepared by using TCM serum pharmacological method,and effects of the drug containing serum on proliferation of ovarian cancer fresh parenchymatous tumor cells were investigated with 3H incorporation method,and effects of the drug-containing serum on proliferation of ovarian cancer cell line Tyk-nu cells were investigated by flow cytometry,cellular activity assay,cellular growth curve assay and cell colony formation rate assay.Results:The drug containing serum could inhibit proliferation of both fresh parenckymatous tumor cells and ovarian cancer cell line Tyk-nu cells,and the inhibitory rate raised with the increase of drug-containing serum content.Conclusion:The Shenkui Decoction-containing rat serum can inhibit proliferation of ovarian cancer fresh parenchymatous tumor cells and ovarian cancer cell line Tyk-nu cells.

Objective To explore the effects of urinastatin(UTI) on microcirculation of extra pancreatic organs in rats with acute necrotizing pancreatitis(ANP). Methods A total of 48 rats were randomized into control group, ANP group and UTI group. The model of ANP was established by uniform injection of 5% sodium taurocholate solution under pancreatic capsule, only injection of normal saline in control group. Then the rats of UTI group were injected with UTI through the femoral vein, the rats of ANP group and control group were injected with normal saline. Objective: To discuss the way of early nutritional support in the patients after the liver transplantation. Methods: The nutritional support was used in 28 patients who had suffered the orthopetic liver transplantation (OLT).Parenteral nutrition was started as soon as possible after the operation. On the fourth day after the operation, enteral nutrition was also used. Results: 5 patients died from the postoperative complications. 23 patients survived and had been in better nutrition. Conclusion: The early nutrition support can play an important role in the patients recovery after OLT. EN should be administrated immediately when the gut functions.
