1.Determination and Source Apportionment of Pb and Cd in Qingkailing Injection

Objective To develop a method to determine Pb and Cd in Qingkailing Injection by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry, and search their source. Methods The samples, digested via microwave, were determined the contents of Pb and Cd by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry in raw material, intermediate and finished product of Qingkailing Injection. Results The standard curve of Pb was Y=0.007 3X+0.011 6, and Cd was Y=0.056 7X+0.060 4. The regression equation of Pb and Cd was 97.0% and 95.6%, respectively. Content determination of Pb and Cd in Qingkailing Injection revealed that Pb and Cd in finished product came from raw materials. Conclusion The method is rapid, high sensitive and accurate, and can be applied to the inspection of Pb and Cd in Qingkailing Injection.
2.Effect of the Wnt/LRP5/β-catenin signaling pathway on the pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis

Objective To investigate the role of the Wnt/LRPS/3-catenin signaling pathway in the pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis.Methods Fifty female Wistar rats aged 6-month-old,were randomly divided into control group ( NS,n =24 ) and ovariectomized group ( NOVX,n =26),NOVX underwent bilateral ovariectomy.At 0,4 and 8 weeks,all of rats were measured blood estrogen ( E2 ) and bone mineral density (BMD),4 and 8 weeks,low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5 (LRP5),3-catenin and Runx2 mRNA in bone were measured respectively by reverse transcription (RT)-PCR.Results In 4 and 8 weeks,compared with NS which had (117±29) and (114+15) pmol/L in E2 level,(0.098 ± 0.016 ) and (0.095 ± 0.028 ) g/cm2 in BMD,NOVX had significantly decreased to ( 92±15 ) and(95±22) pmol/L in E2 level ( P<0.05 ),( 0.076 ± 0.016) and ( 0.052 ± 0.013 ) g/cm2 in BMD values ( P < 0.01 ).And bone tissue LRP5,β-catenin and Runx2 mRNA expression was 1.02 ± 0.06,1.04 ±0.05,1.07 ±0.21 in NS,NOVX was significantly reduced to 0.97 ± 0.04,0.58 ± 0.05,0.86 ±0.03 (P<0.05).Conclusion Wnt/LRP5/β-catenin signaling pathway may be important in the pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis.
3.Experimental observation of toxic effect of Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelen-sis against Aedes,Culex and Anopheles larvae

Objective To evaluate the toxic effect of Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis(Bti)wettable powder against Ae-des,Culex and Anopheles larvae. Methods The biological assay was applied to test the lethal concentration of 50%(LC50)of Bti wettable powder against Aedes,Culex and Anopheles larvae. Results The LC50(s) of Bti wettable powder against Aedes albopictus, Culex pipiens pallens and Anopheles sinensis larvae were 0.104,0.160μg/ml and 0.324μg/ml,respectively;its biological poten-cies against them were 0.125,0.192 IU/ml and 0.389 IU/ml,respectively. The LC50(s) of continuous contact of Bti wettable powder with An. sinensis stageⅢlarvae for 1,2 d and 3 d were 0.324,0.092μg/ml and 0.032μg/ml,respectively,and its biological po-tencies were 0.389,0.110 IU/ml and 0.038 IU/ml,respectively. The LC50(s) of the bacteria against An. sinensis stageⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳwere 0.024,0.137,0.324 μg/ml and 0.450 μg/ml,respectively,and the biological potencies were 0.029,0.164,0.389 IU/ml and 0.540 IU/ml,respectively. Conclusion Bti wettable powder has a good toxicity to Aedes,Culex and Anopheles larvae,espe-cially for the latter two. It is better to apply the bacteria at the early stage of mosquito larvae.

5.Clinical efficacy of combined procedures for the surgical correction of congenital ptosis accompanied by epicanthus

Objective To observe the effects of combined surgeries for the correction of congenital ptosis accompanied by epicanthus.Methods 80 cases (105 eyes) of congenital ptosis were analyzed in this study.64 cases (80 eyes),with levator muscle strength more than 4 mm,were treated with suspension of frontal aponeurosis,and 16 cases (25 eyes),with levator muscle strength less than 4 mm,were treated with shorten operation of levator palpebrae superioris.Furthermore,all these patients were corrected the epicanthus at the same time.Results Except the under correction in 5 cases (8 eyes),the remaining patients were corrected satisfactorily.Postoperative palperbal fissure length was averagely increased by 2.0± 1.0 mm,inner canthic diameter was averagely decreased by 4.0± 2.0 mm,the eyelid height was increased by average 9.0±1.0 mm,the inclination of palpebral fissure was 12.0°±2.0°;64 cases (80 eyes) were treated with suspension of frontal aponeurosis,postoperative recurrence were 7.5% (6/80),no postoperative recurrence were 92.5% (74/80),complication were 5.0% (4/80);16 cases (25 eyes) were treated with shorten operation of levator palpebrae superioris,postoperative recurrence were 8.0% (2/25),and no postoperative recurrence were 8.0% (2/25);complication rates were 4.0% (1/25).Conclusions This procedure of combined surgeries can reduce the recurrence rate effectively.Moreover,the satisfactory,functional,and aesthetic results can be obtained simultaneously with this method.
6.Microinjection of adenosine into orexinergic zone of lateral hypothalamus on sleep-wake cycle in rats

Objective To investigate the effect of extragenous adenosine(AD) by microinjection in the orexinergic area of rat lateral hypothalamus(LH) on the sleep-wake cycle.Methods A total of 14 male SD rats were given 1,10 or 20 nmol AD and artificial cerebrospinal fluid(aCSF) as own control through three different models of microinjections into the LH.Their electroencephalogram(EEG) and electromyogram(EMG) were recorded by a polygraph recording instrument to observe the changes of sleep-wake after microinjections.Results AD administration to LH at doses of 1,10 and 20 nmol decreased the total amount of wakefulness by 84%,62% and 60% fold during that first 3-hour recording period and concomitantly increased non rapid eye movement(NREM) and REM sleep,when compared with aCSF treatment.The sleep-inducing effect was maintained even in 3 hour after the 20 nmol AD microinjection.The maximal sleep-inducing effect was obtained at the 20 nmol dose of AD administration into the orexinergic LH(P

Objective To study the influences of polysacch arides(PS)from Radix Codonopsis on immune function and hematopoiesis in mice.Methods Several experiments have been condu cted for detecting delayed type hypersensitivity(DTH),hemolysin antibody concentration,endogenous spleen colony,3 H-TdRpermeate nuleated cells in bon e marrow.Results By oral administration,PS from Radix Codonopsis can promote the humoral immunity and PS at a small dosage en-hance the cellular immunity.PS from Radix Codonopsis can also elevate the hemoglobin cont ent of the hemolysis -induced blood -deficiency mice and increase the formation of endogenous spleen c olony,but has less effect on DNA synt hesis in the bone marrowof blood -deficiency mic e caused by 60 Co -?ray.Conclusion PS from Radix Codonopsis can enhance the im-mune function and improve the compen satory hematopoiesis of spleen and t heir mechanisms need to be further studied.
8.Risk of non-medullary thyroid cancer influenced by polymorphic variation in the thyroglobulin gene

Background and purpose: Germline variation in Tg (thyroglobulin) and TSHR (thyroid stimulating hormone receptor) confers an increased risk of benign thyroid disorders. Benign thyroid disorders are strong risk factors for non-medullary thyroid cancer (NMTC). To explore the hypothesis that polymorphic variation in these genes affects the risk of NMTC. Methods: Tg A7589G and TSHR C253A polymorphisms were determined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (FCR-RFLP) method, to analyze the relationship between the Tg and TSHR gene polymorphisms and NMTC in NMTC and control groups. Results: Among 360 cases, there was no statistic difference in the frequencies of genotype and allele of TSHR C253A between NMTC and control groups. There were Tg A7589G polymorphisms in the 360 cases. The frequencies ofAG+GG genotype in NMTC group were significantly higher than those in control groups (P<0.05). The frequencies of G allele in NMTC group were significantly higher than those in control groups (P<0.001). Conclusion: There were Tg A7589G gene polymorphisms in NMTC and control groups. G allele may be the predisposing gene of NMTC.
9.Effect of different temperatures on development of Aedes albopictus

Objective To explore the effect of different temperatures on the different development stages of Aedes albopic?tus. Methods The changes at different development stages of mosquitoes(egg,larva,pupae)and gonotrophic cycle were ob?served at different temperature conditions of 10,15,20,25,30,35℃and 40℃. The full developmental cycles were com?pared during different temperatures. Results All the stages of the mosquitoes could not develop at 10℃. Under the different temperatures of 15,20,25,30,35℃and 40℃,the hatchabilities of the mosquitoes were 0,32%,82%,83%,82%and 59%respectively;the pupation rates of the mosquitoes were 38%,53%,84%,88%,72%and 42%respectively;and the emer?gence rates of the mosquitoes were 92% 95% 97% 97% 83%and 17%respectively. The mosquitoes could well develop at 20 25 30℃and 35℃ the development time was 37.73 18.50 16.92 and 13.66 days respectively. Conclusion The devel?opment time of Aedes albopictus is shorter at the higher temperature. The optimum temperature for the mosquitoes to develop is between 25-30℃ and higher or lower the temperatures will suppress the development of the mosquitoes.
10.Comparison of the intrusion effects on the maxillary incisors between implants and conventional method:a Meta-analysis

Objective To objectively evaluate the intrusion effects on the maxillary incisors of implants versus conventional method(J-hook headgear ,utility arch) .Methods Such online databases as Cochrane library ,PubMed ,EMbase ,VIP ,Wanfang and CNKI were searched by randomized control test and prospective case controlled study about implants vs conventional anchorage for the maxillary incisor intrusion .After study selection ,assessment and data extraction conducted ,meta-analyses were performed by u-sing the RevMan 5 .1 software .Results Totally 11 studies were included ,6 studies involving 154 patients were included in the J-hook headgear group ,5 studies involving 127 patients were included in the utility arch group .The results of meta-analyses showed that :(1)Compared with the J-hook headgear ,implants had more decrement in the distance of upper center incisior cutting to palatal plane(P<0 .001) ,more decrement in overbite(P=0 .001) ,shorter treatment time (P<0 .001) ,less increase in SN-OP angle(P=0 .004) ,less decrement in distance of maxillary molar cusp to palatal plane (P=0 .020);There was no statistically significant differ-ence in overjet ,root resorption(P>0 .05) .(2)Compared with the utility arch ,implants had more decrement in the distance of the center of resistance of the upper incisor to palatal plane (P=0 .010) ,less increase in U6-PP angle (P<0 .001);There was no statis-tically significant difference in the distance of upper center incisior cutting to palatal plane ,U1-PP angle ,the distance of upper first Molar cutting to palatal plane ,sagittal position of the mesial tip of the upper first Molar ,overbite ,overjet ,course of treatment ,root resorption(P>0 .05) .Conclusion The implants anchorage intruded the maxillary incisor was better than conventional method (J-hook headgear ,utility arch) ,it has more incisor intrusion ,shorter treatment time and more comfortable for the patients ,there was no difference in root resorption between the two groups .
