Objective:To investigate the effect of allitride injection preconditioning and ischemic preconditioning on renal ischemia/ reperfusion(I/R)injury in rats.Methods:Rat's I/R injury model was established.A total of 75 rats were randomized into five groups(n=15,in each);control group(CON),I/R control group(IR),ischemic preconditioninggroup(IPC),allitride preconditioninggroup(APC),allitride preconditioning and ischemic preconditioning group(AIPC).Kidney tissue and blood specimen were collected from all groups 24 hours after operation.The changes of the renal pathological morphology were observed by hematoxylin-eosine(HE)staining.The levels of serum creatinine(Cr)and urea nitrogen(BUN) were determined.The levels of malonaldehyde(MDA)were determined by thibabituric acid(TBA).The levels of superoxide dismutase(SOD)were determined by xanthine oxidase.Intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1)expression in kidney was tested by immunohistoehemistry.Results:IPC or APC group had less necrosis in HE staining than IR group.BUN,Cr,MDA contents in IPC or APC group are less than that in IR group(P

Objective To study the clinical effect of small incision cataract extraction in the treatment of acute angle-closure glaucoma with cataract.Methods Fifty-eight patients with acute angle-closure glaucoma combined with cataract were selected,and according to the digital table they were randomly divided into two groups:control group and observation group.The patients in the control group were treated by conventional method.The patients in the observation group were treated with small incision cataract.The changes of intraocular pressure,anterior chamber depth and visual acuity before and after treatment were observed.The incidence of complications and the satisfaction of treatment were compared between the two groups.Results There were no significant differences in IOP,visual acuity and anterior chamber depth between the two groups before treatment(all P>0.05).After treatment,the intraocular pressure,anterior chamber depth and visual acuity of the observation group were (10.2±4.0)mmHg,(3.3±0.5)mm,(0.85±0.08),respectively,which of the control group were (17.5±5.0)mmHg,(3.2±0.5)mm and (0.50±0.06),respectively.The improvement of intraocular pressure and anterior chamber depth of the observation group was more significant than the control group(t=0.120,0.520,1.012,all P<0.05).The satisfaction rate of the observation group(96.6%) was higher than that of the control group(75.8%)(χ2=9.823,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Small incision cataract extraction is an effective treatment for acute angle-closure glaucoma complicated with cataract,and the postoperative complications are less.The patients are satisfied with the treatment and deserve to be popularized.

Objectives To learn the bednet use and influential factors among Wa and Lahu ethnics,and further to explore feasible ways of promoting the use of bednets and insecticide-treated nets (ITNs). Methods Questionnaire surveys and statistical analysis with EpiInfo 2000 software package were carried out. Results Only did 2.8% [95% confidence intervals(95%CI):1.2%-5.4%] of Wa and 4.8 % (95%CI:2.8%-8.1%) of Lahu ethnic members use bednets frequently or sometimes. Bednets were not available for 67.7% (95% CI:62.0%-73.1%) of Wa and 59.7% (95% CI:53.1%- 66.1%) of Lahu ethnic peoples. Most people who had bednets did not often use them for anti-mosquitoes. Results of multivariate logistic regression confirmed significant correlation between bednet use and knowledge of malaria prevention. Conclusion The coverage and use rates are very low in the two ethnical minorities. Health education, communication and social marketing are the strategies for promoting the usage of bednet and ITNs.

Objective To access the value of the combination of axial image,MPR,and VE in theevaluation of laryngeal carcinoma involvement.Methods Twenty patients with laryngeal carcinoma or hypopharyngeal carcinoma were prospectively studied by helical CT,and MPR and VE were subsequently done on the Voxel Q workstation.The axial images findings and the combined image findings of axial image,MPR,and VE were compared with the pathological results by suing a predetermined checklist of 17 regions according to the TNM classification of malignant tumors(UICC and AJCC).the results were studied in a blind way. Results In the evaluation of the neoplastic invasion of ventricular fold,vocal cord,the anterior commissure,subglottic region,thyroid cartilage,and tissue beyond the larynx,the combined image were better than axial image in sensitivity(100% vs 92.4%,P=0.064),specificity(98.5% vs 89.5%,P=0.028),and accuracy(99.2% vs 90.8%,P=0.003).Neoplastic invasion of the arytenoid cartilage was present in 6 patients.The sensitivity and the specificity was 83.3% and 100% respectively when using the criteria of the arytenoid cartilage sclerosing combined with distortion,erosion or lysis.The specificity was only 57.1% when using the criteria of arytenoid cartilage sclerosing for judging parameter.The result was identical when assessing the arytenoid cartilage,PGS,and PES between the two groups.Conclusion Axial image combined with subsequent MPR and VE could improve the diagnosis in the evaluation of the neoplastic invasion of ventricular fold,vocal cord,the anterior commissure, subglottic region,thyroid cartilage,and tissue beyond the larynx.

Objective To study the methods and therapeutic effect of coverage the soft tissue defect in the foot and ankle with neurocutaneous sural artery island flap.Methods 30 patients had been reconstructed foot and ankle soft-tissue defects with neurocutaneous sural artery island flap,the area of soft tissue defect from 2.0 cm × 3.5 cm～ 8.0 cm× 16.5 cm,the flaps were designed with the size measuring 2.5 cm × 4.0 cm to 8.5 cm × 18cm.Results 26 flaps survived completely and 4 with partial or margin necrosis,the wound infection occurred in 6 patients and were treated with dressing,shin graft and antibiotic drug.Conclusions Sural neurocutaneous island flaps are easy to separate.Major arteries are not injured.It is the ideal flap to repair the soft tissue defect around ankle and foot,the texture,color and contour of the flap is similar to recipient area.

ObjectiveTo prospectively investigate whether any of the perfusion parameters would predict early tumor response to chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy and prognosis in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). MethodsIn a prospective series, Perfusion CT were performed in 152 patients suspected lung cancer with 16-slice or 8-slice multislice CT. Contrast medium (50 ml) was injected at a rate of 4 ml/s with a power injector.The scanning delay was 10 seconds and the scanning time was 50 seconds.Among 152 patients,123 patients were proved lung cancer by pathology.With the perfusion 3.0 software, the parameters including blood flow (BF), blood volume (BV), mean transit time (MTT) and capillary permeability surface area product (PS) were calculated. The perfusion image quality was evaluated on a 4-1eveal scale. The treatment response after chemotherapy and(or) radiotherapy was assessed with Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) ,and then the relationship between perfusion parameters with early tumor response to chemotherapy and(or) radiotherapy was evaluated. Student t test and Kaplan-Meier estimates were used for data analysis. ResultsIn 84 patients (68.3%), the perfusion image quality was staged level 2 (moderate) and level 3 (good). Among them, 35 patients with NSCLC were assessed with RECIST after chemotherapy and (or) radiotherapy.In these 35 patients, The BF of responders and nonresponders was (81.0±33.6)and (56.3±23.1) ml·min~(-1)·100 g~(-1),respectively, which was significantly different(t=2.393, P=0.023). The median PFS of low-BF group (BF≤80 ml·min~(-1)· 100 g~(-1)) and high-BF group (BF>80 ml·min~(-1)·100 g~(-1)) was 11.8 and 8.0 months respectively (P>0.05), and the median PFS of low-BV group (BF≤6 ml/100 g~(-1)) and high-BV group (BF>6 ml/100 g~(-1)) was 9.2 and 8.0 months respectively(P>0.05), both of them were not significantly different.ConclusionNSCLC in high perfusion are relatively sensitive to chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, and the response rate is relatively higher, but the progress time is relatively shorter.
