Objective To observe the effects of Huangqi injection associated with a combined treatment on changes of hemodynamics indexes and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) after cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in rabbit models with cardiac arrest (CA) to elucidate the mechanism of such cardiac protective effects. Methods Twenty-four New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into four groups(each,n=6). The CPR model in rabbits was reproduced by using extra-corporal electric shock method(put through 50 V alternating current to quiver on chest). The animals in operation control group were given anesthesia,all kinds of catheter inserted into the body and tracheotomy,but no induction of ventricular fibrillation. In the epinephrine group,epinephrine (30 μg/kg)was injected into the right jugular vein by a catheter during CPR. In the sub-hypothermia group, epinephrine(30μg/kg)was injected into the right jugular vein via a catheter and 0.9%sodium chloride under 4℃at a rate of 1.0 mL · kg-1 · min-1 was pumped into the ear marginal vein simultaneously with the chest external compressions during CPR and the cooling of body surface sustaining at the target temperature (32-34℃) for 4 hours until the end of the experiment. In the combined treatment group,Huangqi injection(4 g/kg)was injected into the right jugular vein on the basis of treatment of sub-hypothermia group. Hemodynamics indexes such as left ventricular end-diastolic pressure(LVEDP),the maximal rate of left ventricular pressure increase/decline(±dp/dt max),and the mean arterial pressure(MAP)were dynamically monitored at 15 minutes before inducing ventricular fibrillation and at the early stage of post resuscitation for 30,60,120,180,240 minutes,and in the mean time the concentration of BNP was dynamically monitored at 15 minutes before inducing ventricular fibrillation and at the early stage of post resuscitation for 30,180,240 minutes. Results Compared with those of the operation control group,the levels of LVEDP and BNP of epinephrine,sub-hypothermia and combined treatment groups were gradually increased obviously,while ±dp/dt max and MAP were decreased significantly after successful CPR. The levels of LVEDP and BNP at any time point in the combined treatment group were markedly less than those of the epinephrine and sub-hypothermia groups,and along with the time extension,the level of LVEDP had a tendency of elevation,and the level of BNP had a tendency of gradual decrease,reaching peak and valley values respectively at 240 minutes after CPR〔LVEDP (mmHg,1 mmHg=0.133 kPa):6.56±0.21 vs. 12.57±0.33,9.54±0.24,BNP(ng/L):199±19 vs. 286±14, 251±29,all P<0.01〕,at each time point,the ±dp/dt max and MAP levels were significantly higher than those in epinephrine and sub-hypothermia groups,and they were gradually decreased with the time prolongation,reaching valley values at 240 minutes after CPR〔+dp/dt max(mmHg/ms):4 229±353 vs. 2 055±311,3 224±158,-dp/dt max(mmHg/ms):3 587±168 vs. 1 315±189,2 357±245,MAP(mmHg):82.02±1.81 vs. 44.15±1.17, 56.79±1.60,all P<0.01〕. Conclusion Huangqi injection associated with a combined treatment has obvious protective effects on heart after CPR in rabbits,and the mechanism may be related to improvement of hemodynamics indexes and inhibition of excessive expression of BNP.

The cord dorsum potential evoked by stimulation in the ventrolateral aspect of periaqueductal grey (PAG-CDP) was recorded from the dorsal surface of the spinal lumbosacral cord in rats. PAG stimulation with the same parameters as for producing PAG-CDP inhibited the C discharges of convergent neurons in spinal dorsal horn. There was a positive correlation between the time course of the inhibitory effect of PAG on convergent neurons and the duration of the slow wave of PAG-CDP. a positive correlation also presented between the latencies of the PAG inhibition and the slow wave. Furthermore, the PAG inhibition did not appear when the intensity of PAG stimulation was below the threshold of PAG-CDP. These results indicate that the presynaptic inhibition is involved in the PAG inhibition of the C discharges of convergent neurons in spinal dorsal horn.

Objective To investigate the influence of cognitive training on patients with Alzheimer's disease. Methods 30 patients received cognitive function training based upon drug treat-ment. Patients were assessed with mini- mental state examination (MMSE) and functional independence measure(FIM) before and after treatment, the results went through t test. Results After training, cog-nitive function and self- care ability after treatment greatly alleviated compared with those before train-ing. Conclusions Cognitive training can improve cognitive function and self- care ability of patients with Alzheimer's disease and facilitate their life quality.

The applications of targeting gene delivery systems in tumor therapy have attracted extensive attention of researchers in recent years, as they can selectively deliver the therapeutic gene to tumor sites, improve the success rate of gene therapy and reduce the side effects. Therefore, design and development of novel gene delivery vehicles have been a hot area of current research. Recent studies have shown that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have the ability to migrate towards and engraft into the tumor sites. Therefore, these properties make them a great hope for efficient targeted-delivery vehicles in cancer gene therapy. In this review, we examine the promising of utilization of MSCs as a targeted-delivery vehicle for cancer gene therapy, and summarize various challenges and concerns regarding this therapy.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the pharmacoeconomics effectiveness of venlafaxine combined with quetiapine in the treatment of treatment-resistant depression.METHODS:74 patients with treatment-resistant depression were randomly divided into treatment group(n=38) and control group(n=36).Clinical efficacies of 2 groups were evaluated at baseline and the end of 12 weeks treatment using Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HAMD).The total cost of the two groups was calculated and cost-effectiveness analysis was carried out.RESULTS:The per capita cost of treatment group and control group were 1 688.69 and 1487.22 yuan.The HAMD reduction score of 2 groups were 14.5 and 10.2 and the C/E of 2 groups were 116.46 and 145.81,respectively.CONCLUSION:Venlafaxine combine with quetiapine is more economical and practical than venlafaxine alone in the treatment of treatment-resistant depression.

Objective To investigate the expression of serum Golgi protein 73 in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and analyze the clinical significance.Methods The expression of GP73 was measured by ELISA in 75 HCC ,30 chronic hepatitis and normal con -trols.Results The serum concentrations of GP73 were (128.3 ±33.6)μg/L,(80.3 ±19.2)μg/L and (78.3 ±18.5)μg/L in the HCC, chronic hepatitis patients and normal controls .The serum level of GP73 was significantly higher in HCC than those with chronic hepatitis and healthy controls .GP73 expression was positively correlated with clinical stage , humor size and metastasis.The positive rate of GP73 in stage was 60%,higher than the AFP positive rate(33%).Conclusions The serum level of GP73 is high in HCC and was helpful for distinguishing benign and malignant liver diseases .GP73 can be used as a diagnostic marker for HCC .

Objective To discuss the clinical effect of Sky bone expander percutaneous ky-pbeplasty (Sky-PKP) in treatment of old osteoperotic vertebral compression fractures. Methods The study involved 27 patients (27 vertebrae) with old osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures treated by Sky-PKP from March 2005 to June 2007. Normotopia, lateral and dynamia radiographs, CT scanning and MRI were performed preoperatively to verify fluid collection in the vertebral body, vacuum phenomenon and open-close phenomenon. Visual analog scale (VAS), Oswestry disability index (ODI), anterior body height, middle line body height, posterior body height and kyphotic angle changes were measured on a lateral radiograph before and after treatment. Results All patients were followed up for mean 6.2 months, which showed no severe complications. VAS score was decresed from preoperative 7.8 to postop-erative 3.1 and ODI from 65% to 37%. However, The anterior vertebral height and middle line vertebral height were recovered for 4.6 nun and 5.7 mm respectively compared with preoperation. Correction of ky-photic angle was mean 5.6°postoperatively. There was no sitatistical changes in regard to posterior body height before and after operation. Conclusions Sky-PKP is a reasonable procedure for treatment of old osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures under strict control of indications, especially with vacuum phenomenon, open-close phenomenon and fluid collection. While high degree of difficulty in puncturation results in insignificant correction of kyphotic angle and body height.

OBJECTIVE:To study the econamics effect of risperidone and quetiapine in treating of schizophrenia.METH ODS:64schizophrenia patients were randomly divided into risperidone group(34cases)and quetiapine group(30cases).The effects were evaluated based on the reduction of scores determined by brief psychiatric rating scale(BPRS);the adverse effects were evaluated by treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS).And then the cost-effectiveness analysis was carried through.RESULTS:The per capita costs for risperidone and quetiapine were3598.85yuan and3778.63yuan respectively;the re-duction of BPRS scores were(36.09?15.52)and(25.03?14.45)respectvely;the respective cost-effect ratio was99.72yuan and150.96yuan;the increment of the cost-effect ratio for the quetiapine group was-16.25compared with the risperidone group.CONCLUSION:Risperidone is more economical than quetiapine in the treatment of schizophrenia.

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the cost-effectiveness of3kinds of Chinese patent drugs in the treatment of insomnia outpatients.METHODS:78outpatients with insomnia were randomly divided into group A,group B and group C,and they were treated with shumian capsule,sweet dream capsule and compound semen ziziphi spinosae capsule,respectively,then,cost-effectiveness analysis was carried out with pharmacoeconomics.RESULTS:The per capita costs(C)for group A,B and C were288.20yuan,163.08yuan and139.22yuan respectively,the reduction in PSQI scores(E 1 )were5.15,8.88and11.84respectively,the effective rates(E 2 )were26%,46%,and64%respectively;The average cost-effect ratios C/E 1 were55.96,18.36,and11.76respectively;C/E 2 were11.08,3.55,and2.18respectively;The increment of the cost-effect ratios?C/?E 1 for group A and B were—22.27and—8.06respectively;?C/?E 2 were—3.92,—1.33respectively,as compared with group C.CONCLUSION:Compound semen ziziphi spinosae capsule is more economical in3drugs in treating insomnia outpatients.

Objective To investigate the subtype distribution and changing trend of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1 strains among men who have sex with men (MSM) during 2005-2011 in Beijing.Methods Five serial cross-sectional surveys of MSM were conducted in the year of 2005-2006,2007,2008,2009,and 2010-2011 in Chaoyang district of Beijing.Whole blood samples were collected and then RNA was extracted.HIV-1 gag gene was characterized by reverse transcriptase and nested polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) amplification,DNA sequencing,and phylogenetic analysis of viral sequences to determine the HIV-1 subtypes.Results Phylogenetic analysis of the sequences revealed that the predominant subtypes of HIV-1 gag gene included subtype B,CRF01_AE and CRF07_BC.And CRF15_01B was detected from the year of 2008.In addition,significant changes of the distributions of subtypes and CRFs occurred from 2005 to 2011 in HIV+ MSM.Subtype B showed a significant decreased trend,while the proportions of CRF01 _AE and CRF07_BC significantly increased in the 7-year period,particularly that of CRF01_AE.Conclusions The substantial changes are observed in the diversity of HIV-1 strains circulating among MSM in Beijing during a 7-year period.
