1.Analysis of 5 patients with myelodysplastic syndromes complicated with autoimmune disorders

Objective To explore the character of the myelodysplastic syndrome(MDS) with autoimmune disorders (AID).Methods The clinical data of 60 MDS patients were reviewed.Results 5 of 60 MDS patients had AID ,of which 3 had Graves' disease.The commonest MDS was refractory anemia with ringed sideroblasts (RAS).Conclusion MDS might occur with Graves' disease.Humoral immunological abnormality might play an important role in MDS patients with autoimmune disorders and FAB types might not be associated with this.
2.Agreement between parents and children's report of self-rating scale of systemic family dynamics in China

Objective To explore agreement between parent-child report of self-rating scale of systemic family dynamics (SSFD),as well as factors that may influence the agreement.Methods SSFD was used to investigate the agreement between parent and child reports on family dynamics in a sample of 639 Chinese children aged 10 to 18 years from Mainland China,and possible influence factors.Results The results showed that there was significant difference between parent-child report of SSFD.The parents had significant lower score than their children at atmosphere,individuation and disease conception and had higher score at system logic (all P<0.01).But the two still had significant positive correlation (correlations ranging from 0.15 to 0.38),indicating a low to moderate agreement between them(r=-0.15-0.38,all P<0.01).The age factor was related to parent-children agreement on SSFD.Parent-child agreement was highest for family atmosphere,followed by individuation,system logic and disease conception.The age factor was related to parent-child agreement on SSFD.Conclusions Both parents' and children's reports of SSFD can be used to assess family dynamics,however,attention should be payed to the affection of parent-child report's difference and age factor to the results.
3.Relationship between MAT1 expression and clinicopathological features of pancreatic cancers

AIM: To investigate the expression of MAT1 protein in pancreatic cancers and the relationship between MAT1 and clinicopathological features of pancreatic cancers. METHODS: 94 surgical specimens, including 70 pancreatic cancers, 10 pancreatic benign tumors, 14 chronic pancreatitis and 10 autopsy normal pancreas tissues, were analyzed immunohistochemically, and then MAT1 expression and clinicopathological features were compared. RESULTS: MAT1 was expressed mainly in the cancer cells,and also in the fibroblasts, where it was localized within the cytoplasm and nuclear envelope. MAT1 expression was found in 75.7% (53/70) of the cancers, but not detected or weakly expressed in control tissues. 4.The MR Diagnosis of Giant Intracranial Aneurysms

Objective To analysis the imaging appearances of giant intracranial aneurysms(GIA).Methods Forty pathological proven GIA were included in this study.Results The MR appearances were variable depending on the present of thrombosis,the size and age of the thrombosis,and the secondary changes of the GIA.The typical flow void presented in majority patients.The flow artifacts were displayed across the residual lumen in the phase direction of MR image.The residual lumen showed dense contrast enhancement.The thrombosis was found in 26 GIAs with variable signal intensity from homogeneous hypo-or hyperintensity to onion or turbo like heterogeneous signal intensity without contrast enhancement.DSA studies displayed residual lumen of GIAs and fail to display totally thrombosis GIAs.Conclusion MR studies clearly show the residual lumen and thrombosis of GIAs.MR study is an important conjunctive tool of the DSA studies in diagnosis GIA.
5.Deletion and Mutation of MTS1/p16 Gene in Human Pancreatic Carcinoma

Objective: Our aim was to investigate the alteration of p16 gene in human pancreatic carcinoma. Methods: A total of 66 human pancreatic tissue specimens, comprising 51 with pancreatic carcinomas and 15 normal pancreatic tissue specimens, were examined for homozygous deletion and mutation of p16 gene by using PCR-SSCP method. Results: No mutation and deletion was detected in 15 normal pancreatic tissue samples. Of 51 pancreatic carcinoma specimens, only one was found mutation for p16 gene in PCR-SSCP assay, and the deletion of the p16 gene in 23 samples were confirmed by using PCR, with a 45% p16 gene deletion rate. Conclusion: These data suggest that p16 gene alterations may play a role in the progression of human pancreatic carcinoma.
6.Effect of fluctuant high glucose to pancreatic β-Cell lines INS-1

Objective To investigate the damage mechanism of fluetuant high glucose on the INS-1 cells (pancreatic β-cell lines).Methods The cells were divided into five groups:the control groups (A group:5.5 mmol/L of glucose),the continuing high glucose group (B group:16.7 mmoL/L of glucose),the fluctuant glucose group ( C group:16.7 mmol/L of glucose for cultivation for 2 h,then the concentration changed to 5.5 mmol/L for cultivation for 3 h,which was repeated 3 times per day;the ceils were kept in the medium containing 5.5 mmol/L of glucose during night time for 9 h),the continuing high glucose plus NAC ( 1.0 mmo/L) group ( D group),the fluctuant glucose plus NAC group ( E group).The intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) was observed by the flow cytometry.The activity of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) was estimated by the tetrazolium linked cytochemical method.Results 72 h after intervention,the levels of ROSwere 37.77±2.31,86.97±7.97,124.27±10.04,60.92±2.61 and 51.47±3.36,respectively,in A~E group;the activities of G6PD were 1.25±0.03,1.09±0.02,1.03±0.01,1.12±0.02 and 1.21±0.01,respectively;the levels of NADPH were (0.123±0.003) mmol/mg prot,(0.112±0.004) mmoL/mg prot,(0.099±0.002 ) mmol/mg prot,( 0.116±0.005 ) mmol/mg prot and ( 0.120±0.002) mmol/mg prot,respectively.The level of ROS in the cells of the fluctuant glucose group were significantly higher than that in the continuing high glucose group ( P < 0.01 ).The G6PD activity and NADPH was significantly lower in fluctuant high glucose group than those in the continuing high glucose group (P <0.01 ).NAC co-cultivation decreased the extent of cell's change.Conclusions Exposure of INS-1 to high glucose lead to increased oxidative stress, possible mechanism included decreased G6PD activity and subsequent imbalance between oxidation and reduction.
7.Effect of dexmedetomidine postconditioning on acute lung injury induced by lipopolysaccharide in rats

Objective To investigate the effect of dexmedetomidine postconditioning on acute lung injury (ALI) induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in rats.Methods Fifty male Spragne-Dawley rats,aged 7-8 weeks,weighing 200-250 g,were randomly divided into 5 groups (n =10 each) using a random number table:control group (group C),LPS group and postconditioning with 3 different doses of dexmedetomidine groups (LD,MD and HD groups).ALI was induced with LPS 8 mg/kg injected via the caudal vein in LPS,LD,MD and HD groups.Dexmedetomidine 5,10 and 15 μg/kg were injected intraperitoneally in LD,MD and HD groups,respectively,at 1 h after LPS injection.The equal volume of normal saline was injected intraperitoneally in C and L groups.Blood samples were taken from the left ventricle at 6 h after dexmedetomidine administration,then the animals were sacrificed and broncheoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) was collected.The concentrations of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in plasma and BALF were detected by ELISA.The lungs were removed for microscopic examination of pathological changes and for determination of wet/dry lung weight (W/D) ratio and expression of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) mRNA (by RT-PCR) in lung tissues.Results Compared with group C,W/D ratio,pathological scores,and the concentrations of IL-6 and TNF-α in plasma and BALF were significantly increased,and the expression of TLR4 mRNA was up-regulated in LPS,LD,MD and HD groups.Compared with LPS and LD groups,W/D ratio,pathological scores,and the concentrations of IL-6 and TNF-α in plasma and BALF were significantly decreased,and the expression of TLR4 mRNA was down-regulated in MD and HD groups.There was no significant difference in the parameters mentioned above between LPS and LD groups,and between MD and HD groups.Conclusion Dexmedetomidine postconditioning can alleviate ALI induced by LPS in rats,and up-regulated TLR4 mRNA expression and reduced inflammatory responses may be involved in the mechanism.
8.The application study of CT perfusion and CT subtraction angiography in the stenosis and obstruction of internal carotid artery

0.05 by ? 2 test (? 2=0.487). CT angiography of SSD, MIP, and CT virtual vascular endoscopy could show the location, extent and degree of occlusion or stenosis of internal carotid arteries clearly. CT angiography could also detect calcific plaque in 21 internal carotid arteries and soft plaque in 15 internal carotid arteries. Conclusion Two slices CT perfusion imaging could be made with regular helical CT scanner. CTA could also evaluate the status of plaque. The combination of CT perfusion imaging and CTA are useful not only in observing the morphology of internal carotid arteries, but also in observing the hemodynamic information of the brain, which are important for further general individual analysis.
9.CT features of neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas: report of 28 cases

Objective To observe computed tomography features of neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas.Methods Computed tomography scans for 28 patients with pathologically proven neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas were retrospectively analyzed.The data of tumor locations,diameters of the tumor and internal composition,pattern of enhancement,changes of biliary and pancreatic duct,and lymphatic metastasis,remote metastasis were recorded.Results A total of 32 lesions were detected,24 lesions were single lesions,while 4 lesions were multiple lesions (2 lesions within pancreas).The shapes of these lesions were nodule-like or mass-like.Eighteen lesions were located in pancreatic tail,10 in pancreatic head,2 in pancreatic body,and 2 between pancreatic tail and body.Among the lesions located in pancreatic head,pancreatic duct dilation were detected in 5 cases,bile duct dilation in 1 case,both biliary and pancreatic duct dilation in 2 cases,and no dilation in the remaining 2 cases.The diameters of the tumor ranged from 1.0 to 20.0cm (mean5.1 cm),and the size was <2 cmin 1 case,2 ~5 cm in 23 cases; >5 cm in 8 cases.After enhancement,the lesions were enhanced to different degrees,and the peak value occurred in the pancreatic phase.Twenty-three lesions invaded adjacent vessels or organs,and lymphatic metastasis was observed in 5 cases,remote metastasis were recorded in 6 cases.Conclusions Neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas has certain features on computed tomography.It is highly likely to make the pre-operative diagnosis when clinical data is also taken into consideration.
10.Effects of intrathecal Ro25-6981 on focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of intrathecal (IT) Ro25-6981 (a selective NR2B receptor antagonist) on focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats.MethodsSixty healthy male SD rats weighing 280-320 g in which IT catheter was successfully implanted without complication were randomly divided into 4 groups ( n = 15 each):group sham operation (group S) ; group focal cerebral I/R(group I/R) ; group I/R + Ro25-6981 (group Ro) and group I/R+ normal saline (group NS).The right middle cerebral artery was occluded for 2 h with a nylon thread with rounded tip which was inserted into right internal carotid artery and advanced cranially until resistance was met in groups I/R,Ro and NS.In group Ro Ro25-6981 100 μg/10 μl was injected IT at 0,2,23 h of reperfusion,while in group NS NS was injected IT instead of Ro25-6981.Neurological dificit was assessed and scored (0 = no deficit,3 = severe deficit) at 24 h of reperfusion.The infarct size was determined by 2,3,5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride staining.ResultsIT administration of Ro25-6981 significantly reduced cerebral I/R-induced infarct sized and neurological deficit score in group Ro as compared with groups I/R and NS.ConclusionRo25-6981 injected IT can protect the brain against local cerebral I/R injury.
