AIM:To investigate the effect and mechanism of liver ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)injury on the changes of cardiac energy metabolism and structure.METHODS:48 healthy Wistar male rats were randomly divided into 6 groups as follows(n=8 in each group):control group(CTL),simply ischemia for 30 min without reperfusion(I group);reperfusion following ischemia for 30 min(I/R group);2 h reperfusion following ischemia for 30 min(I/R 2 h group);4 h reperfusion following ischemia for 30 min(I/R 4 h group)and 6 h reperfusion following ischemia for 30 min(I/R 6 h group). The level of serum endotoxin was measured. The levels of insulin and insulin antibody in heart were detected by radioimmunoassay. The contents of MDA,MPO and lactic acid in heart were also determined.RESULTS:During the process of liver I/R injury, the level of endotoxin increased in I group and I/R group and declined gradually for long time during reperfusion, but was still longer than that in CTL group(P0.05).CONCLUSION:During the process of liver I/R injury, endotoxin is absorbed from intestine and impairment of liver detoxication leads to endotoxemia, which might play a role in the changes of the energy metabolism and structure in heart.

Objective:To investigate the current status and problems of the development of dental technology specialty in higher vocational colleges in China, and to provide a reference for the establishment of national standards for vocational education on dental technology and the development of high-quality higher vocational education. Methods:We selected 54 higher vocational colleges in eastern, central, and western China offering dental technology programs by stratified random sampling to survey the specialty development situation using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the independent samples t test, one-way analysis of variance, or chi-square test with the use of SPSS 18.0. Results:Among the surveyed colleges, the average annual enrollment scale in recent three years was 6 415 students, with the largest enrollment in western regions, accounting for 47.39%. In terms of teaching faculty, there were differences in educational attainment, professional title structure, vocational qualification, and professional background between different regions ( P<0.05). Regarding training conditions, only 26.42% and 3.77% of colleges were equipped with virtual simulation training rooms and dental materials training rooms, respectively; and 18.52% and 22.22% of colleges were equipped with chairside repair systems and virtual simulation software, respectively. Conclusions:Regional imbalances exist in the development of dental technology specialty in higher vocational colleges in China. The overall level of teaching staff, practical training conditions, and curriculum construction need to be improved.

The bionic optic nerve can mimic human visual physiology and is a future treatment for visual disorders. Photosynaptic devices could respond to light stimuli and mimic normal optic nerve function. By modifying (Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythio-phene):poly (styrenesulfonate)) active layers with all-inorganic perovskite quantum dots, with an aqueous solution as the dielectric layer in this paper, we developed a photosynaptic device based on an organic electrochemical transistor (OECT). The optical switching response time of OECT was 3.7 s. To improve the optical response of the device, a 365 nm, 300 mW·cm -2 UV light source was used. Basic synaptic behaviors such as postsynaptic currents (0.225 mA) at a light pulse duration of 4 s and double pulse facilitation at a light pulse duration of 1 s and pulse interval of 1 s were simulated. By changing the way light stimulates, for example, by adjusting the intensity of the light pulses from 180 to 540 mW·cm -2, the duration from 1 to 20 s, and the number of light pulses from 1 to 20, the postsynaptic currents were increased by 0.350 mA, 0.420 mA, and 0.466 mA, respectively. As such, we realized the effective shift from short-term synaptic plasticity (100 s recovery of initial value) to long-term synaptic plasticity (84.3% of 250 s decay maximum). This optical synapse has a high potential for simulating the human optic nerve.
