Objective To study the multi-slice spiral CT (MSCT) manifestations of septic pulmonary embolism(SPE) in order to get a better understanding of the disease,Methods The MSCT manifestations of 12 patients with septic pulmonary embolism were retrospectively analyzed and compared with chest radiograph. Results Of the 12 patients,Chest radiograph and CT scanning showed multiple peripheral pulmonary nodules in 8 and 12 cases,a feeding vessel sigu(0,9 cases),cavitations(6,10 cases) and wedge-shaped opacities(4,7 cases),focal infiltrates(2,4 cases),air cyst(2,5 cases),pleural lesions (3,6 cases),hilar or mediastinal lymphadenopathy(0,3 cases).Peripheral or subpleural zones were most commonly affected (8,12 cases).CT was more useful in revealing nodules and a feeding vessel sign.Multiplanar reconstructions (MPR),maximum intensity projection (MIP) showed that most of these vessels passed around nodules and wedge-shaped lesions.MPR showed regular nodular margin. Conclusion SPE presents with variable and often nonspecific clinical and radiographic features.MPR and MIP showed the features of nodules and feeding vessels better. The diagnosis is usually suggested by the presence of a predisposing factor, febrile illness, and CT findings of multiple, periphery pulmonary nodules, with orwithout cavitation and a feeding vessel sign.

Aerenchyrna formation has been described in depth in a number of species at a histological level. But large gaps remain in our understanding of its regulation as a developmental process. It is attempted to analyse essential mineral elements like K, Mg, Cu, Zn, Ca and P in the cell wall of aerenchyma cells in petioles ofS. trifolia at five different developmental stages by CSEM-EDX technique. At early stage, K and Cl concentrations in cell wall were high up to 36% and 4.3% of dry weight, respectively. It supported the hypotheses that aerenchyma spaces are filled with liquid at early developmental stages of aerenchyma in S. trifolia petiole. Mg concentration was high at stage 2, up to 0.86% of dry weight. Zinc and Cu were detected only at rapid expansion stages, during which the concentrations were up to 1.5% and 2.5%, respectively. Calcium was detected in the cell wall only at mature stages, the concentration was high up to 1.3% of dry weight at stages 4 and 5. These results confirmed that the element concentration of aerenehyma cell wall undergoes dynamic changes during different developmental stages, and a low Ca with high Zn and Cu concentration are needed for cell expansion. Copper and Zn deposition in the cell wall showed a significant positive linear correlation, suggesting that these two elements share same or similar uptake and transport mechanism in plants.

AIM: To explore the role of purinergic signaling mediated by ATP in the Alzheimer ’ s disease (AD)-related colon motility disorder and its related molecular mechanisms .METHODS:(1)Clinical trials:AD patients in our hospital were collected and studied .Radioimmunoassay was used for the determination of plasma motilin (MTL), cholecystokinin (CCK), vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) and nitric oxide (NO), and high-performance liquid chroma-tography ( HPLC) was applied to test the level of adenosine triphosphate ( ATP) .The patients were assessed by neuropsy-chology and scored accordingly .( 2 ) In animal experiments , AD mice received Morris water maze test , and the spatial learning and memory function were evaluated .The plasma levels of MTL , CCK, VIP and NO were examined by radioimmu-noassay , and the level of ATP was measured by HPLC .Choline acetyltransferase ( ChAT ) , VIP, nitric oxide synthase ( NOS) and ATP synthase were detected by immunohistochemistry .Western blot and immunohistochemistry were used to detect the expression of P2Y receptor.(3) In vitro, organ bath was applied to observe the effect of α,β-methylene ATP (α,β-MeATP), an agonist of P2Y receptor, on both spontaneous and electrically evoked contraction of colonic smooth muscle strip, and the technique of intracellular microelectrode was applied to observe the effect of α,β-MeATP on the membrane potential of colonic smooth muscle cells .RESULTS:Compared with control group , the levels of MTL and CCK were decreased (P<0.01), and the levels of NO and ATP were increased (P<0.05 or P<0.01), while the VIP level was not changed.Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score was decreased (P<0.05), Alzheimer’s Disease Assess-ment Scale-Cognitive Subscale (ADAS-Cog) score, Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI) score and Alzheimer’s Disease Co-operative Study-Activities of Daily Living Scale ( ADCS-ADL ) were all increased as compared with control group ( P <0.01).The 4~6 d escape latency of APP/PS1 AD mice was significantly prolonged (P<0.05), and the space explora-tion ability distinctly reduced (P<0.05).In AD mice, the levels of MTL and CCK were decreased (P<0.01), and the levels of NO and ATP were increased (P<0.05 or P<0.01), while the VIP level was not changed .The protein expres-sion of colonic ATP synthase was significantly increased (P<0.05), but the expression of ChAT, VIP and NOS was not changed. The expression of P2Y receptor was increased (P<0.01).The results of in vitro experiment displayed that α,β-MeATP, from 20 μmol/L to 100 μmol/L, inhibited the spontaneous contraction of colonic smooth muscle strip in the nor-mal mice and AD mice ( P<0.05 or P<0.01 ) , and this inhibition was reversed by Na +channel inhibitor tetrodotoxin (TTX) (P<0.05 or P<0.01).In addition, the effect of α,β-MeATP at 100μmol/L on the AD mice was more obvious than that on the normal mice (P<0.05), and this inhibition was also antagonized by TTX (P<0.05 or P<0.01), pro-minent in AD group as compared with control group (P<0.05).In 10 Hz electrically evoked contraction of colonic smooth muscle strip,α,β-MeATP inhibited both the normal and AD mice (P<0.05 or P<0.01), while the inhibition was more obvious in the AD mice at the concentration of 40μmol/L or 100μmol/L (P<0.05 or P<0.01).CONCLUSION:AD patients and AD mice are accompanied by decreased MTL and CCK levels , and enhanced NO level , thus inducing colonic motor dysfunction along with AD .Meanwhile, ATP in plasma, purinergic neurons , and P2Y receptor expression are in-creased in the AD mice .Purinergic signaling mediated by ATP inhibits colonic smooth muscle strip contraction and further paralyzes the colonic movement function in AD .

Journal of International Oncology 2019;46(9):544-547
Radiogenomics aims at investigating the relationship between radiomics features and genomic features, which has certain practical value in the individualized molecular targeted therapy. Meanwhile, it is noninvasive, repeatable and inexpensive. In recent years, a large number of studies have shown that radiomics features have certain predictive values for the mutation status of driver genes of lung cancer. The application of radiogenomics is insufficient at present, but with its continuous improvement and development, it will play an increasingly important role in the precise therapy of lung cancer in the future.

OBJECTIVE To analyze the new features in diagnosis and treatment of parathyroid tumor co-existent with thyroid disease. METHODS The clinical data of 98 patients with parathyroid tumors from Jan.2007 to Dec.2016, in Zhejiang Cancer Hospital were retrospective analyzed. RESULTS In all 98 cases, there were 22 cases mistaken as thyroid disease before surgery. The misdiagnosis rate was higher(36.2%), when combined with thyroid disease. When co-existent with thyroid disease, the qualitative diagnosis rate of the ultrasound and CT will be decreased, it was easy to misdiagnosis. Logistic regression analysis showed that parathyroid tumor location, hyperparathyroidism, cystic parathyroid tumor affected the accuracy of the qualitative diagnosis of ultrasound. The size of the parathyroid tumor affected the accuracy of the qualitative diagnosis of CT. Three of 9 patients underwent bilateral thyroid cancer and parathyroid tumor resection presented permanent hypoparathyroidism(33%). CONCLUSION When combined with thyroid disease, parathyroid tumor is easy to be misdiagnosed, the qualitative diagnosis rate of the ultrasound and CT will also decreased. When combined with thyroid cancer, these will be a higher risk of hypoparathyroidism after bilateral thyroid cancer and parathyroid tumor resection.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the surgical procedures and prognosis for neck recurrence or residue of nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) after primary radiotherapy.
METHODSA total of 153 cases with neck recurrence or residue after radiotherapy in NPC who received salvage neck surgery between January 2001 and December 2011 were retrospectively analyzed. There were rN1 109 cases, rN2 17 cases and rN3 27 cases. Of them 17 cases received bilateral neck dissection(ND) simultaneously. The surgical procedures included the modified radical neck dissection (MRND) in 66 cases, radical neck dissection (RND) in 48 cases, selective neck dissection(SND) in 28 cases, enlarged radical neck dissection (ERND) in 16 cases, local excision in 9 cases, and parotidectomy in 3 cases. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate survival curves, and the differences between groups were calculated by χ(2) tests.
RESULTSThere were 20 cases (13.1%) with lymph node(LN) metastasis in level I and 7 cases (4.6%) with parotid gland LN metastasis. The 3-year and 5-year overall survival rates were 57.2% and 40.6% respectively, and the median survival time was 49 months. Cox regression analysis revealed that rN staging, size of LN and age were the main prognosis factors for survival.
CONCLUSIONSSalvage surgery was effective for neck recurrence or residue of NPC after primary treatment, and MRND and SND are reasonable options so as to improve functionality. Dissection of LN in level I and parotid gland should be selective. Patients with stage rN3 or LN > 6 cm or age > 50 years had poor prognosis.
