Objective:To observe the expression of chemokine receptor CCR7 and CXCR4 in human colorectal carcinoma and its significance,so as to assess their expression with the metastasis and prognosis of colorectal carcinoma. Methods:Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of chemokine receptor CCR7 and CXCR4 in 110 patients with colon cancer. The relationship between the CCR7 and CXCR4 expression and the clinic pathological characters was statistically analyzed. Results:CCR7 and CXCR4 expression were positively expressed in 59.1% and 45.5%of the patients. The high expression rate of CCR7 and CXCR4 in lymph node metastasis positive cases was 81. 5% and 60.0% respectively, but the without lymph node metastasis positive cases were 26.7% and 24.4% respectively. The positive expression was significantely higher in the patients with lymph node metastasis than those non-lymph node metastasis(P

AIM: To investigate the effects of a 10-weeks treatment with angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang Ⅱ) subtype I receptor antagonist losartan on vascular remodeling of thoracic aorta in male spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). METHODS: SHR were treated from 16 to 26 weeks of age with losartan at 15 mg/kg?d -1 or 0.75 mg/kg?d -1. RESULTS: Losartan (15 mg/kg?d -1) treatment significantly decreased systolic blood pressure compared with the control group, while losartan (0.75 mg/kg?d -1) had no the effect, losartan(15 mg) prevents the development of aortic hypertrophy by preventing hypertrophy of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC). In the losartan 0.75 group, these parameters were not changed. But in the losartan 15 and losartan 0.75 groups, the collagen content of the aortic media decreased significantly. CONCLUSION: It is inferred that the effect of Ang Ⅱ on stimulating VSMC growth of the aorta in SHR is dependent on arterial pressure, while the effect on collagen fibers is through pressure independent mechanism.

AIM: To investigate the effects of angiotensin II receptor antagonist on remodeling of renal arterioles in hypertension. METHODS: Eighteen 4 weeks old male rats were divided into three groups: Wistar-Kyoto rats (WKY) for normotensive group, and spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) for hypertensive group, and SHR treated with losartan orally (15 mg?kg -1 ?d -1 ). The rats were raised to 16 weeks old. The morphometric parameters of the renal arterioles, and the widths of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) and intercellular space were studied on kidney slices by light microscope and electromicroscope respectively, combined with computer-assistant image analysis system. The minimal renal vascular resistance (RVR min ) was studied by isolated kidney perfusion system. RESULTS: The systolic blood pressure of the tail artery, wall thickness, wall area, ratio of wall thickness to inner diameter, width of VSMC of renal arterioles and RVR min were all smaller or lower in losartan group than those of SHR. CONCLUSION: Ang II receptor antagonist losartan can prevent the remodeling of renal arterioles in SHR.

Objective To explore the prognostic value of ventricular wall motion score (WMS) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) combined with heart failure (HF) in the recent 12 months Methods We selected hospitalized AMI patients in our department from Jan. 2014 to Nov. 2014. Cardiac ultrasound was performed to detect WMS and LVEF within 48 hours and during the 6?month follow?up period and the occurrence of HF was recorded. Results Totally 127 AMI patients were recruited, including 20 cases combined with HF. The WMS was higher in HF group than those in non?HF group (23.55 ± 3.73 vs 20.11 ± 3.13, P<0.01), while the LVEF in HF group was lower than those in non?HF group (48.77 ± 8.08 vs 56.99 ± 5.17, P<0.01). Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that WMS and LVEF were both independent predictors of HF in the recent 12 months (P < 0.05). The prediction effect of WMS ROC curve area was 0.81 (P < 0.01) , and LVEF 0.76 (P < 0.05). WMS and LVEF combined assessment area under ROC curve was 0.82 (P < 0.01). Conclusion WMS and LVEF are independent predictors of HF in patients with AMI in the recent 12 months and the combined application of WMS and LVEF can significantly improve the prediction effect.

Objective To compare the diagnostic efficacy and complications of transperineal prostate biopsy for<10 cores biopsy vs≥10 cores biopsy. Methods Nine hundred transrectal ul-trasound-guided transperineal prostate biopsies were performed. Patients were divided into 2 groups, <10 cores group and ≥10 cores group. Patient numbers of the 2 groups were 759 and 141, respec-tively. Cancer positive rate and complications were compared between the 2 groups retrospectively. Results Cancer positive rates were 41.6%(316/759) and 51.8%(73/141) in 2 groups (P<0.05). In patients of PSA≤10.0 ng/ml, cancer positive rates were 6.8% (16/235) and 17.8% (8/45) in 2 groups (P<0.05). Gross hematuria was the most common complication associated with biopsy. There was no statistical difference between the 2 groups in post-biopsy gross hematuria rate. Conclu-sions The diagnostic efficacy is higher in≥10 cores prostate biopsy than that in <10 cores prostate biopsy, There is no difference in biopsy related complications regarding biopsy core numbers.

To prepare the polyclonal antibody against the 3D polymerase of foot and mouth disease virus (FMDV), the 3D polymerase gene of this virus was amplified by PCR and doubly digested with BamH I and Nde I. Then, it were cloned into expression vector pET-30a(+) to obtain the recombinant plasmid pET-3D and this plasmid was transformed to E.coli BL21(DE3) with induction by IPTG.The target protein was identified and purified with SDS+PAGE, and the inclusion bodies were extracted. The purified target protein was used as antigen to immunize New Zealand rabbits to prepare the polyclonal antibody against 3D polymerase of FMDV, which was then characterized by indirect ELISA and Western blotting. As demonstrated by SDS-PAGE, the target protein with a molecular weight at 46 ku was expressed. The polyclonal antibody showed high affinity and obvious specificity and its titer was above 1:8 000. This polyclonal antibody may lay a foundation for the further studies on the biological functions and epitopes of the 3D polymerase of FMDV.

Objective:To characterize the clinical and epidemiological changes, treatments, and prognoses of primary esophageal small cell carcinoma (PESC). Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted using the clinical epidemiology data of 529 PESC patients se-lected from the clinical databases of 500,000 esophageal and gastric cardiac carcinomas of the Henan Key Laboratory for Esophageal Cancer Research (1992-2015). Among these patients, 241 cases were included in the survival analysis. The five-year survival rate was calculated using Kaplan-Meier analysis, and the differences in survival rates were compared using the Log-rank analysis model. Re-sults:All 529 PESC cases were analyzed, which accounted for 0.2%of esophageal cancers diagnosed in the same period. The incidence of PESC increased annually (R2=0.574). The survival rates for 1-, 2-, 3-, and 5-year of 241 PESC patients were 55%, 40%, 29%, and 9%, respectively, and the median survival time was 21.9 months. On the basis of the VALSG criteria of lung small cell carcinoma, a statisti-cal difference was observed in the overall survival rates for limited and extensive diseases (P=0.003), with the median survival time of 24.3 and 17.5 months, respectively. Furthermore, significant differences were observed on survival with various treatment modalities (P=0.004). The median survival time of PESC patients treated with combined surgery and radiochemotherapies (28.8 months) was lon-ger than those with either chemotherapy (17.8 months, P=0.015) or chemoradiotherapy (14.5 months, P=0.004). In limited disease pa-tients, the median survival time was longer in patients treated with surgery (27.7 months) than in those without surgery (16.2 months, P=0.007). Notably, the biopsy diagnosis before surgery for PESC was only 40.8%. Conclusion:PESC is a rare malignant carcinoma with increasing incidence. PESC presents poor prognosis, and the survival rate can be improved through combined therapies based on sur-gery. A high misdiagnosis rate for PESC is observed before surgery with biopsy.

OBJECTIVE: To understand the current situation of psychological resilience of sanitation workers and its impact on their happiness. METHODS: A total of 277 sanitation workers from Dongguan City of Guangdong Province were enrolled as study participants by stratified random sampling method. The psychological resilience and happiness were measured by Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and Campbell Index of Well-being Scale respectively. RESULTS: The median scores of psycological resilience and happiness of the study subjects were 49. 0 and 7. 8,respectively. Psycological resilience was positively correlated with happiness( P < 0. 01). The multivariate linear regression analysis showed that the types of work, education level, personal monthly income and daily working time were the influencing factors of sanitation workers 'psychological resilience( P < 0. 05). The types of work and psychological resilience can significantly predict happiness(P < 0. 05). After controlling the demographic variables such as age, type of work, education level, personal monthly income, and daily working time, the psychological resilience prediction happiness contribution rate increased by 34. 1%(P < 0. 01). Age has a regulating effect on psychological resilience and happiness. Psychological resilience is easier to predict in the second generation( born after 1978) of sanitation workers in the sense of happiness. CONCLUSION: Psycological resilience of sanitation workers affects their happiness. Enhancing psychological resilience can help improve the happiness of sanitation workers.
