Clinical Medicine of China 2010;26(5):534-536
Objective To evaluate the effects of different surgical treatments on polycystic hepatic disease and multiple simple hepatic cysts. Methods A total of 35 cases of polycystic hepatic disease and 54 cases of multiple simple hepatic cysts were surgically treated in our department from Jan.1998 to Jan.2006.Of the 35 cases of polycystic hepatic disease,12 were treated with the partial hepatic resection in combination with cyst fenestration,18 with laparotomic fenestration,5 with laparoscopic fenestration.Of the 54 cases of multiple simple hepatic cysts,6were treated with percutaneons aspiration and instillation of sclerosing agents (ethanol) under the guidance of ultrasonography B,36 with laparotomic fenestration,13 with laparoscopic fenestration. The surgical outcome and longterm follow-up outcome were retrospectively analyzed. Results After treatment, all polycystic hepatic disease patients experienced relief of symptoms when discharged. And the follow-up for an average of 3.0 years showed that 2 patients developed recurrence after the partial hepatic resection in combination with cyst fenestration,8 after the laparotomic fenestration,5 after the laparoscopic fenestration. The recurring rates were 16.7%,44.4% and 100.0% ,respectively. However, all patients of multiple simple liver cysts cured. Conclusions The approach of partial hepatic resection in combination with cyst fenestration is the most effective treatment for polycystic hepatic disease.Liver transplantation can cure polycystic hepatic disease, and is the only effective approach for severe cases.Percutaneous aspiration under the guidance of ultrasonography B is only effective for relief of symptoms before operation.Laparoscopic fenestration should be applied with caution.Laparoscopic fenestration is the first choice for multiple simple hepatic cysts with clinical symptoms.
2.AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY USING INDOCIN TO INHIBIT THE OTOTOXICITY INDUCED BY FUROSEMIDE
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1982;0(03):-
We have observed the protective effects of indocin (IND), a potent inhibitor of pro-sglandins (PGs), on ototoxicity induced by furosemide (FU) using the synchronous recording technique of endocochlear potential (EP) and auditory action potential(AP) in guinea pigs. The FU group were found to have a mean decrease in EP of 65.1?5.6mV and AP amplitude 91.5?10.2%. In contrast, the animals in the FU+IND group had a much smaller reduction of EP(17.5 ?3.8mV) and AP amplitude(31.1?4.7%). The rate of return in EP and AP was much faster in the FU+IND group as compared with the other group. Our findings suggest that the ototoxicity of FU may be related to the mediation of PGs in the inner ear target tissues. IND can interrupt an increase in endogenous PGs in cochlear tissues triggered by FU injection by inhibiting the biological synthesis of PGs, thus effectively diminishing the ototoxicity induced by FU.
3.Progress in the study of the association between diabetes mellitus and abdominal aortic aneurysm
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2017;33(2):153-155
Epidemiologic evidence suggests that diabetes mellitus appears to be negatively associated with abdominal aortic aneurysm formation. Diabetes mellitus may affect the physiological characteristics of the aorta and reduce the prevalence, incidence and expansion rate of abdominal aortic aneurysm. But the impact of diabetes mellitus on the rupture, operative complication and clinical outcome of abdominal aortic aneurysm is unclear. Randomized controlled trials are needed before conclusions can be drawn on the link between development and expansion of abdominal aortic aneurysm and medicines for diabetes. This review aims to analyze updated evidence of the association between diabetes mellitus and abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(04):-
To study the effectiveness of gene therapy for acoustic trauma induced by intensive noise, the replication defective adenovirus that carries human neurotrophin 3 cDNA(Ad NT3) was inoculated into the guinea pig cochlea 3 days after exposure. ABR and CAP were recorded after 14 days and 2 months, respectively. No difference was found 14 days after exposure. At the end of two months, the Ad NT3 treated animals showed less ABR threshold shift, lower CAP threshold and shorter CAP N1 latency by 100dBSPL click. The result suggested that Ad NT3 could be used to express the neurotrophins within the cochlea and reduce noise induced hearing loss in vivo .

Objective:To investigate the anti-proliferation effect of carvacrol on human gastric cancer cell BGC-823 and explore the molecular mechanism. Methods:The proliferation of BGC-823 cells was evaluated by MTT assay. Flow cytometry was used to ana-lyze the cell apoptosis after exposed to carvacrol. Transwell assay was used to analyze the effect of carvacrol on cell metastasis. Quanti-tative realtime-PCR was used to detect the expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1. The expression of caspase-9 and PARP,and the activa-tion of ERK and P38 were detected by Western blot. Results:The incubation with carvacrol resulted in a significant inhibition of BGC-823 cell proliferation. After the treatment with carvacrol, the apoptotic rate was significantly increased( 0 μmol · L-1 vs 10 μmol · L-1 ,P<0. 000 1;0 μmol·L-1 vs 20 μmol·L-1 ,P<0. 000 1;0 μmol·L-1 vs 40 μmol·L-1 ,P<0. 000 1;0 μmol·L-1 vs 80μmol·L-1 ,P<0. 000 1)and the invasion ability was decreased(0 μmol·L-1 vs 80 μmol·L-1 ,P<0. 000 1). The expression of caspase-9(0 μmol·L-1 vs 80 μmol·L-1,P<0. 000 1)and TIMP-1 was increased(P<0. 000 1),PRAP fragment occurred(P<0. 000 1)and P38 signaling pathway was activated in the carvacrol treated group, while the expression of MMP-9 activity of ERK signa-ling pathway was inhibited(P<0.000 1). Conclusion:Carvacrol can inhibit cell growth and invasion, and induce cell apoptosis, which is closely related to MAPK signaling pathway.

Journal of Audiology and Speech Pathology 2010;18(1):39-42
Objective The controlled release BMP-2 and implantation into the acoustic bulla of the guineapig and the effects on the cochlea were observed. Methods The acellular cancellous bone was prepared, accompanied with BMP-2.The material accompanied with BMP-2 was implanted into one acoustic bulla of the animal, and the opposite side of the acoustic bulla was implanted with acellular cancellous bone without BMP-2.A total of 20 guinea-pigs were undergone this procedure. The ABR was tested on the animals before and after the operation immediately and 3 month after operation,respectively.3 month after operation, the animals were sacrificed. The osteogenesis induced by BMP-2,the acoustic bulla and the cochlea affected by BMP-2 were observed. The structures of hair cells were observed after being treated with silver nitrate. Results The animals recovered soon after surgery. The hearing thresholds of the animals reduced slightly after the operation, and recovered completely 3 month after. The bulla and the cochlea were normal in shape. The osteogenesis occurred in the pore of the acellular cancellous bone with BMP-2.No abnormal hyperplasia of bone in the hulla and the cochlea was found. The articulation between the stapes and oval window was not merged. The shape of the hair cells was normal and no obvious deletion of the hair cells was noted when compared with control group. Conclusion The controlled release BMP-2 could induce osteogenesis in the bulla of the animals. This material did not affect the shape of the bulla and the hearing thresholds. They did not induce any abnormal hyperplasia of bone in the bulla and might be used to reconstruct the affected ossicles.
