Objective The purpose of this study was to edit and psychometrically equate a set of Mandarin bisyllabic word lists. Methods 964 bisyllabjc words were recorded by male talker of standard Mandarin,352 words were selected to compose 10 lists. Percentage of correct word recognition was measured for each word at four intensity levels using 20 normal hearing subjects. The order of the presentation of the lists was randomized for each subject. U-sing Statistica7.0 Performance-Intensity function for each word was plotted, slopes and thresholds of them were calculated. 242 words were chosen after that, The thresholds and slopes of these words were in Guassian distribution. These words were ligitally adjusted and included in six Mandarin bisyllabic word lists of 40 words each. Two of them were for practice, four of them for test. 36 subjects with normal hearing served in our equivalent test. The orders of the presentation of the lists were randomized far each subject and results were expressed as thresholds. Results Two-factor ANO-VA was used to compare the thresholds of the 4 lists, F=1.978,P = 0.209. Conclusion These lists were considered to be primarily equivalent with each other.

BACKGROUND:The CD133 expression in non-smal cel lung cancer shows some changes, which is definitely related to the occurrence and development of diseases. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the expression of CD133 in non-smal cel lung cancer, and to analyze its relationship with clinical pathological factors and prognosis. METHODS:Non-smal cel lung cancer tissue specimens from 135 cases were col ected, and normal lung tissue specimens from 60 cases were set as normal control group. Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect CD133 expression in two groups, and the relationship between the expression of CD133 protein and the clinical pathological factors was analyzed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) The positive expression of CD133 protein in the non-smal cel lung cancer group was significantly higher than that in the normal control group (P<0.05). (2) CD133 protein expression had no association with age, gender, tumor size, tumor location, histological type (P>0.05), and CD133 protein expression was significantly increased with the differentiation of non-smal cel lung cancer (P<0.05). The positive expression rate of CD133 protein was significantly different between different clinical stages and lymph node metastasis (P<0.05). (3) CD133 and TNM staging were independent prognostic factors for non-smal cel lung cancer (P<0.05), and the median survival time was significantly shorter in the positive group than in the negative group (P<0.05). The results indicate that CD133 is involved in the occurrence, development, infiltration and metastasis of non-smal cel lung cancer, and it has important clinical significance for the disease progression and prognosis.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of anxiolytics and antidepressants on anxiety-and/or depression-like behaviours induced by designing a Liang′s contextual-stress box, (Liang′s box) in mice . METHODS Liang′s box was composed of a central area and three peripheral arms. Buspirone (0.5 and 1.0 mg·kg-1) and mianserin (0.25 and 0.5 mg·kg-1) were injected to mice intraperitoneally and the following behavioral indexes were recorded: ① latency to the central area(CA), ② CA-time, ③ CA-distance,④distance traveled in the peripheral area (PA-distance)⑤number of the transitions, and ⑥global activity. RESULTS ①Buspirone 0.5 and 1.0 mg · kg-1 decreased the latency to CA by as much as 71.9%(P<0.05) and 77.9%(P<0.05), but dose-dependently increased the CA-time by 59.5% and 73.8%(P<0.05) respectively. Although buspirone 0.5 and 1.0 mg · kg-1 obviously reduced the shuttle number(P<0.05), it did not have significant pharmacological effects on the CA-and PA-distance or global activity.②Mianserin 0.25 and 0.5mg·kg-1 decreased the latency to CA by as much as 72.4%(P<0.05) and 82.3%(P<0.05), but dose-dependently increased the CA-time by 39.1%and 43.9%(P<0.05), respec?tively. Mianserin enhanced the shuttle number(P<0.05) and CA-distance(P<0.05) in a dose-dependent manner, but it had no obvious pharmacological effects on the PA-distance or global activity. CONCLUSION Anxiety-and/or depression-like behaviors can be stimulated by Liang′s box in mice, which may be used as a novel animal model of anxiety and depression comorbidity to study its pathophysiological mecha?nisms, screen and evaluate certain new anxiolytics and antidepressants.

Luteinizing hormone(LH)is a gonadotropin of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis(HPG),secreted by the anteri?or pituitary. The secretion of LH is directly controlled by the release of gonadotropin releasing hormone(GnRH),acts at the ovaries and testes to stimulate the production of gonadal hormones. Aging leads to increases in LH,and higher serum levels of LH has been ob?served in Alzheimer′s disease(AD)patients when compared to age-matched controls. Evidences from basic research and epidemiologi?cal investigation support the critical role of elevated LH in pathogenic process of AD and deteriorating cognitive decline. Here we sum?marize the recent discoveries containing human AD epidemiological evidence for LH,cognitive impairments resulting from LH activi?ty,LH in AD pathology and LH receptor signaling mechanisms.
