Objective: To estabish an animal model with blast injury in maxillofacial region and to study the biomechanical property of the model. Methods: Spherical explosive at different distances was used to make wound in maxillofacial region in dogs. The pressure on tissue at different level, the variation of horizontal acceleration and strain of the mandibular and temporal bone were dynamically measured. Results: About 3.5 cm?3.0 cm soft tissue defect and madibular splintered fracture occurred in maxillofacial region when the spherical explosive exploded on the surface of the dog's face and the animal survived. The pressure on mandible was respectively 3.6%?2.9% of the surface of dog's face when the spherical explosive exploded 0 and 1.00 cm away from the dog's face while the ratio of horizontal acceleration of cranium to mandibular was 1/8?1/6. Splintered fracture occurred in mandible when the mandibular strain was 11 375 ??.Conclusion: The model can be applied as an animal model with blast injuries in maxillofacial region.

Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2004;2(5):43-45
s: Ninety-six cases of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc of posterior protrusion type were divided randomly into observation group including 50 cases and control group including 46 cases.Patients in observation group were treated with combined use of acupuncture, traction and Tuina, and patients in control group were only treated with acupuncture. After treatment, the significant difference was found between the observation group and control group in therapeutic affect. The comprehensive therapy is definitely effective and simple in the treatment of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc of posterior protrusion type, which has guiding significance to the clinical practice.

Objective To observe the changes of peripheral blood T lymphocytes,IFN-?,TNF-? and IL-4 in rats infected by T.gondii.Methods 48 Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were intra-abdominally injected with 2?105/L of cellulose purified living tachyzoites in 2 ml and randomly divided into 8 groups.Six rat was intra-abdominally injected 2 ml of saline as control and 4 rats were remained as normal control.Peripheral blood was collected and the level of IFN-?,TNF-?,IL-4 was analyzed by ELISA on day 1,3,7,14,28,35,42,60.Results Level of IFN-?(6.73 pg/ml)and IL-4(6.91 pg/ml)increased in experimental rats on day 7(P

Objective: To study the injury characteristics of blast injury in maxillofacial region wounded by spherical explosive. Methods: Spherical explosive was used to wound maxillofacial region in rabbits , after gross observation of the trauma , bone tissue specimens were collected from 0.5 or 1.0 cm to the boundary of wound 6 hours, 3 and 7 days after wounding respectively, the samples were prepared and stained with HE and modified Mallory's trichrome staining and observed under light microscope . Microcirculation in wounded bone was studied by ink injection and observed in ground bone sections. Results: No changes were found 6 hours after injury. Inflammatory infiltration were found 3 days after injury.Osteonecrosis was observed 7 days after injury, the structure of bone beyond 0.1 cm of the wound was found to be normal and restoration of bone was observed. Conclusion : Pathological changes of mandible injured by spherical explosive are similar to those of usual fracture except that the wound of blast injury is seriously polluted.

Objective To improve the diagnosis and treatment effect of closing duodenal injury. Methods By reviewing the documents, the development in the diagnosis and treatment of duodenal injury were summarized. Results (1) Every patient with closing belly injury should be considered the possibility of duodenal injury; (2) According to the extent of duodenal injury, five common different operetion treatments wuld be adopted respectively; (3) Non-operation treatment should be given to those unable to be operated on, such methods as nutrition support, application of sandostatine etc. Conclusions Combine the operation treatment with the non-operation treatment can greatly improve the cure rate of the duodenal injury.

Objective:To study the polar chemical constituents of Blettila striata(Thunb.) Reichb.f. Methods:The constituents in N-butanol moiety were separated and purified by column chromatography with silica gel and SephadexLH-20, and were identified by spectral analysis. Results:Five compounds were identified as: militarine(1);7-hydroxy-4-methoxy-phenanthrene-2-O-?-D-glucoside(2);4-methoxyphenanthrene-2,7-O-?-D-diglucoside(3);7-hydroxy-2,4-dimethoxyphenanthrene-3-O-glucoside(4);3′-hydroxy-5-methoxybibenzyl-3-O-?-glucopyranoside(5). Conclusion:Compound 1,5 were isolated from this plant for the first time.

The development of hospital business demands the integration of information systems. After studying the relative technologies for system connection, system integration and different modes of connecting system, we put forward a protocol to integrate the existing laboratory information system( LIS) and hospital information system(HIS). It introduces the multi-tier distributed technical methods for improving the client/server applications; it ascertains the units and transactions participating in workflow integration by referencing the IHE( Integrating the Healthcare Enterprises) Laboratory Technology Framework; it implements information exchange by Health Level 7(HL7) standards; and it can conserve previous investment and avoid some problems of security, maintenance and realtime process without the risk of massively updating system.

Objective To study the splenic injuries caused by high-altitude falling and underwater explosion and the 2-dimensional ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)characteristics. Methods Twenty-three healthy Beagle dogs were divided into high-altitude falling group(n=13)and underwater explosion group(n=10).Free-fall high-platform device and gram-grade trinitrotoluene were used to simulate high-altitude falling injury and underwater explosion injury in Beagle dogs, respectively.Ultrasound examination of the spleen was performed immediately after injury, with follow-up examinations every hour.CEUS examination was performed in surviving dogs.Spleen specimens were taken from deceased dogs after injury to observe gross injuries.Pathological changes in tissue morphology and cell apoptosis were observed by hematoxylin-eosin(H-E)staining.Results In the high-altitude falling model,6,2,1,and 1 dogs died in the 6 m,7 m,8 m,and 9 m groups, respectively;in the underwater explosion model,1 and 4 dogs died in the buoyancy and frogman groups,respectively.Two-dimensional ultrasound examination of the high-altitude falling model showed spleen rupture(disruption of splenic parenchymal structure),perisplenic fluid accumulation, subcapsular hematoma, intrasplenic hematoma, increased splenic vein echo, and uneven splenic parenchymal echo.Two-dimensional ultrasound examination of the underwater explosion model showed increased splenic vein echo and uneven splenic parenchymal echo, which were less serious compared with the high-altitude falling model.CEUS results indicated 4 major contrast patterns in both models. The Beagle dogs with type Ⅰ(large focal contrast defect),type Ⅱ(diffuse contrast defect),or type Ⅲ(no contrast agent entry into the splenic vein)contrast patterns all had splenic rupture after injury.H-E staining results showed true splenic rupture, diffuse intrasplenic hemorrhage, splenic hematoma/ecchymosis,subcapsular hematoma/ecchymosis,and venous congestion after spleen injury, which were consistent with the 2-dimensional ultrasound findings. Conclusion High-altitude falling causes more serious spleen injuries in Beagle dogs compared with underwater explosions.Routine ultrasound performs well in diagnosing typical splenic injuries, while CEUS has advantages in evaluating atypical splenic injuries and has good predictive ability for delayed splenic rupture.
