Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(17):-
Objective To detect the expression of chemoattractant receptors, CXCR4 and formyl peptide receptor (FPR), in rat glioma cell line C6 and to explore their relation to tumor differentiation and angiogenesis. Methods The expression of CXCR4 and FPR by C6 cells were detected with immunocytochemistry. The differentiatial degrees were also detected to analyze the relationship of chemoattractant receptors with angiogenesis and malignancy of glioma. Results C6 cells were of a long spindle shape, expressing high level of vimentin but relatively low level of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP). C6 cells were positive for CXCR4 and FPR in the cytoplasm and strongly positive for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Conclusion C6 cell line is poorly differentiated and highly expresses chemoattractant receptors CXCR4 and FPR, both of which might be related to the angiogenic potentials.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 1988;0(05):-
Objective To observe the effects of saponins of Panax notoginseng (PNS) on the brain energy metabolism and mitochondrial respiratory function of oxidative damaged rat model mimic to Alzheimer disease (AD). Methods Oxidative damaged rat model mimic AD (AD group) was established by injection of dihydroxy fumaric acid (DHF) and FeCl3 ADP into the left lateral ventricle of rats. The contents of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), adenosine diphosphate (ADP), adenosine monophosphate (AMP), and phosphate creatine (Pcr) in brain were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The mitochondrial functions (R3, R4, P/O, and OPR) were observed by Clark oxygen electrode method. The difference in the above parameters in rats in the control group (injection of saline), model group, and administration group (injection of PNS) was observed. Results The levels of ATP, Pcr, and R3, R4, P/O, and OPR of rats in AD group were significantly lower than those in the control group (0.9% NaCl instead of DHF FeCl3 ADP), but those in PNS group were higher than those in the AD group. Conclusion PNS can improve brain energy metabolism and mitochondrial function of oxidative damaged rats, suggesting that PNS could be used for the treatment of AD.

Journal of Regional Anatomy and Operative Surgery 2015;(2):181-184
Objective To determine the effects of Hyperoside ( Hyp) on the memory impairment induced by hypobaric hypoxia. Meth-ods SD rats were exposed in hypobaric hypoxia chamber which simulated 6 100 m high altitude for 7 days to induce memory impairment. Morris maze was applied to determine the effects of Hyp on memory in hypobaric chamber. The activities of SOD and CAT and levels of GSH and MDA in rat hippocampus were measured by assay kit ( Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering Institute) . Results In target quadrant, the time and path and the frequency to cross platform were reduced under hypobaric hypoxia as compared with normoxia group ( P < 0. 05 or P<0. 01). Administration of Hyp significantly attenuated the hypoxia-induced the memory impairment responses(P<0. 05 or P<0. 01). The activities of SOD and CAT in rats hippocampus exposed to hypobaric hypoxia were significantly improved in the presence of Hyp as com-pared with the absence of Hyp(P<0. 05 or P<0. 01),so did GSH level (P<0. 05 or P<0. 01). Significant decrease of MDA levels was observed in the hippocampus on exposure to hypobaric hypoxia with Hyp as compared without Hyp. Conclusion Hyp reduces hypoxia-in-duced oxidative stress injury by upregulating activity of antioxidant proteins such as SOD,CAT in hippocampus of rats, which contribute to at-tenuate memory impairment induced by hypobaric hypoxia.
