Objective To summarize the experience of surgical treatment of congenital heart diseases combined with infective endocarditis. Methods All the patients of congenital heart diseases combined with infective endocarditis who received the surgical treatment in our department from January 1995 to December 2001 were retrospectively reviewed,which including 28 cases of single malformation and 11 cases of complex malformations. Results There were 3 early postoperative deathes, and the mortality rate was 7 7%. Followed up 5 months to 5 years with a mean of 3 6 years, there was 1 case of recurrent endocarditis and not late death. Conclusions Congenital heart diseases with infective endocarditis is an absolute surgical indication, and early surgical treatment of congenital heart diseases will lower the incidence of infective endocarditis.

Objective To evaluate the clinical diagnostic role of dental computed tomography (CT) and three-dimensional reconstruction (3DR) compared with conventional dental periapical radiography (DPR) in the diagnosis of molar furcation involvement (FI). Methods Dental CT and 3DR were performed about a maxillary first molar and its alveolar bone diagnosed as FI II? by conventional probe technique, and the images were compared with that of DPR. Results The images of dental CT scans and 3DR showed not only the area, type and quantity of periodontal destruction, but also the complex stereoscopic anatomical vision and ambient spatial relationship around the molar. Especially, the images displayed the alveolar destructions of the dental buccal and palate site that could not always be demonstrated by DPR. The degree of the molar FI was defined as III? in fact. Conclusion Dental CT and 3DR have many superiorities and value, which can not be replaced by DPR, in the clinical diagnosis and prognostic judgment of molar furcation involvement.

Objective To investigate the influences of mutant p53 protein expression on the resistance of breast cancer cells to adriamycin and efficiency of adriamycin chemotherapy of the pre-operative patients with breast carcinoma.Methods Mutant p53 protein expression in 9 cases of breast cancer was examined by using inmunohistochemical method and image semiquantified analysis.The response of human breast cancer cells to adriamycin was tested with MTT assay in order to judge the effects of mutant p53 protein expression on the pre-operative pateints with breast carcinoma treated with adriamycin chemotherapy.Results ⑴Mutant p53 protein expression in 7 cases of the human breast cancer samples were positive,the positive rate was 77%(7/9).⑵There was positive relationship between expression degree of mutant p53 protein(positive relative area) and resistance index(IC50:1/10 peak concentration) of human breast cancer cells to adriamycin(r=0 7956,P

Objective To investigate the effect of Rb protein expression on the clinical response of the colorectal cancer patients perfused with 5-Fu before operation. Methods The expression of Rb protein in 34 cases of the colorectal cancer sample was determined by streptavidin-peroxidase(S-P) immunohistochemical method and the positive reactions were analysed by ICM-100 Cell DNA Picture Analysis System. The apoptotic rate of colorectal cancer cells was examined by the TUNEL staining. The chemosensistivity of the colorectal cancer cells were tested by the MTT colorimetric assay of agar culture. The clinical response of the colorectal cancer patients perfused with 5-Fu before operation was observed simultaneously. Objective To analyze the clinical features of tsutsugamushi disease.Methods 113 cases of tsutsugamushi disease from 1991-2005 were reviewed.Results The symptoms of fever,eschar or ulcer,tetter and lymph node tu- mescence accounted for 100%,80.5% (91/113),6.2% (7/113) and 75.2% (85/113) respectively.Liver damage and pulmonary damage were observed in 75.2% (85/113) and 47.8% (54/113) cases.78.8% (89/113) cases were masculine in OX_K check.Conclusion Tsutsugamushi diseases showed complicated and multiple clinical manifestations and more attention should be paid to for avoiding misdiagnosis.

Objective To discuss the application of role reversal teaching in the clinical course of rehabilitation medicine. Methods 64 students of a vocational college under clinical practice were divided into traditional teaching group (n=30) and role reversal teaching group (n=34). The achievement of knowledge and practice tests were compared after course. Results There was no significant difference in the score of knowledge test between the groups before clinical practice (P>0.05), however, the scores of both knowledge and practice tests were higher in the role reversal teaching group than in the traditional teaching group (P<0.001). Conclusion The role reversal teaching may improve the achievement of students for clinical course of rehabilitation medicine.

The thermooxidative degradtion of ethylene oxide and tetra-hydrofuran (EO-THF) co-polyether has been studied by electron spin resonance(ESR),Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The initial degradation site was found to be at the α-carbon of the ether bond. Two free radicals which derived from dehydrogenation and oxygen addition were successfully detected by spin-trapping technique which used α-phenyl-N-tert-butyl nitrone (PBN) as spin trap. Both FT-IR and NMR have been used tofollow structural changes of the copolyether during degradation. Nearly 20 product frngnents including formate,carbonate,methyl,alcohol,methylene-dioxy,hydroperoxide and semiformal have been characterized by 1 D and 2 D NMR.The thermooxidtion of co-polyether preferred to occur on the THF units especially at the alternating linkage of EO and THF.Antioxidant (BHT) not only retarded the thermooxidation but also modified the degradation products with less ester and methylene-dioxy groups but more hydroxyl and methyl groups.

Objectives:To detect telomerase activity in various tumor tissues by PCR-PAGE and PCR-MPH.Methods:We used telomerase PCR-MPH，an assay in which a digoxigenin-labeled telomerase repeat-specific probe was hybridized to the PCR product.After revelation with an anti-digoxin-AKP conjugates,the amount of hybridized probe was determined by optical reading.Telomerase activity was analyzed by PAGE.Results:Telomerase activity was determined by PCR-MPH accurately and specifically in various tumor tissues,its sensitivity was one hundred times higher than that of PCR-PAGE.Conclusion:PCR-MPH is ideal for analyzing telomerase activity in various tumor tissues.It is simple,easy and suitable for clinical application.

Objective: To further investigate the molecular mechanism of photodynamic therapy. Methods: We used cDNA microarray technique to explore the gene expression profiles of HEPG2 cells after photodynamic therapy with hematoperphyrin monomethyl ether(HMME) in HEPG2 cells. After treated with HMME for 60 min, the HEPG2 cells were irradiated with laser, and observed by microscope with H E staining. To prepare the probes, mRNA from both control and treated cells were isolated and purified, then reversely transcribed to cDNA with the incorporation of fluorecent labeled dUTP. The probes were hybridized with a cDNA microarray representing the 1 538 genes originated from human hepatocarcinoma cells. The fluorencent signals of Cy3 and Cy5 were scanned and analyzed. Results: After laser irradiation, the HEPG2 cells showed the typical feature of apoptosis. The gene expression profiles were also changed greatly. Among the 1 538 target genes, 389(2.47%) different expression genes were detected. Most of the changed genes (nearly 80%) were down regulated. They were functionally related to cell proliferation cycle, replication, metabolism and so on. Several apoptosis associated genes were detected among those up regulated genes, encoding the key proteins involved in apoptosis signal transduction, such as CCP32,AIF,Mch2. Conclusion: The HMME photodynamic therapy can initiate the apoptosis process of HEPG2 cells, which may be regulated by mitochondial pathway.[

Objective To establish HPLC characteristic chromatogram ofKanglao Qingfei Granules.Methods HPLC analysis of samples was performed on Kromasil C18 column (4.6 mm × 250 mm, 5μm), with acetonitrile-1% glacial acetic acid as the mobile phase of gradient elution (0-50 min, 5%→15% acetonitrile;50-70 min, 15%→25% acetonitrile;70-80 min, 25%→40% acetonitrile;80-90 min, 40%→65% acetonitrile, 90-120 min, 65%→95% acetonitrile);the volume flow rate was 1.0 mL/min;detection wavelength was set at 290 nm;column temperature was 30℃. Chromatographic peaks were identified by HPLC-MS/MS method.Results The similarity degrees of 10 batches of samples were all greater than 0.995, and 13 chromatographic peaks were determined as common characteristic peaks, of which 10 peaks were confirmed in the source attribution and 8 peaks were identified in chemical component.Conclusion The established HPLC characteristic chromatogram can be used for the quality control ofKanglao Qingfei Granules.
