The scientific research was integrated with medical statistics experiments in view of the experimental teaching practice of medical statistics.The experimental teaching system and evaluation methods of medical statistics were formed,characterized with research task-oriented,a combination of theory,practice and scientific research to guide the students to study medical statistics systematically,such as project design,collecting data,sorting data and analyzing data.The teaching method boosts the students' enthusiasm,and cultivates students' ability to solve practical problems by using statistical principles.

In order to improve the quality of nursing dissertations,we combined the teaching of nursing research with clinical internship to teach nursing dissertation writing,following the process of program input-situation experience-clinical internship-problem study-dissertation writing.Taking problem study as the leading role,students as subject,self experience as the main access and tutors as whole-process instructors,we taught and evaluated nursing dissertations at different stages.Students'interests in scientific research,enthusiasm for participation and quality of dissertations were improved effectively.95.78％ of the students showed positive attitude to this teaching method.

To solve the problems in traditional experiment teaching,we transform the static,purely verifying experiments into dynamic ones that both reflect the substance changes and verify theories.These reforms in experiments are intended to arouse the students' interest,inspire their creative thinking,cultivate their research skills and improve experiment teaching quality.

The article,taking the experience and the lesson in constructing demonstration center of experiment teaching as a clue,has discussed the idea,the method and the ownership of experimental teaching reform,has demonstrated the relations among teachers' teaching idea and teaching reality and students' studying effect,has analyzed some trends and quality of experimental teaching reform and has concluded some feasible reform idea of experiment teaching.

The functional experimental teaching reform plays a very important role in raising the teaching resources,consummating the experimental teaching management system,enhancing the student to practice the ability and so on and has obtained the good effect.But it also faces some problems waiting urgently to be solved and further perfected,to which this article has made the analysis and the discussion from the management science angle.The goal lies in deepening the educational reform in functional experiment unceasingly to provide the model.

Objective To retrospectively analyze the relationship between benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and metabolic syndrome (MS) in senior patients. Methods The 859 male senior patients including 619 cases with BPH and 8 cases with MS were enrolled in this study, and there were 192 cases with both diseases and 40 controls. The levels of fasting blood glucose (FBG), total cholesterol (TC), triacylglycerol (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) were measured. The body mass index (BMI), prostate volume and annual prostate growth rate were determined or calculated. The correlations of BPH with other metabolic risk factors were analyzed. Results The levels of systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), body weight, BMI, TG and FPG were higher (t=6.15, 5.99, 13.12, 15.56, 10.63 and 9.94, all P＜0.01), while serum HDL-C level was lower (t=-7.57,P＜0.01) in BPH patients with MS than without MS. As the number of components of MS was increased, the prostate volume was increased (F=2.98, P=0.031). As the age, body weight, BMI, SBP and PG were increased, the prostate volume was increased (t=-6.39,-2.39,-2.36,-2.13,-25.85,all P＜0.05). Spearman analysis showed that prostate volume was positively correlated with age, SBP, body weight, BMI and hypertension (r=0.229, 0.079, 0.090, 0.089 and 0.088, all P＜0.05). And age, body weight and SBP were the independent risk factors for BPH (OR=1.07, 1.03 and 1.34, all P＜0.05). Conclusions The present study demonstrates a relationship between BPH and MS in senior patients. Future studies are needed to confirm our results and to explain underlying mechanisms.

To improve the clinical teaching work, the objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) was first introduced into the periodontal clinical assessment held by Departments of Periodon-titis and Mucosal Disease. With the OSCE exam station and item pool established, standardized pa-tients tralned, the examination form reformed, the knowledge, skill, and attitude of the examinee were assessed comprehensively. Compared with traditional exam,the OSCE evaluated the examinee's skills on clinical admissions, history collection, treatment plan development better. Most examinee have got satisfactory result (pass rate: 86.4 %, 19/22; good rate: 36.4%, 8/22; excellent rate: 9.1%, 2/22). The feedback of the following questionnalre also showed that most of the candidates thought the OSCE helpful to promoting the learning of theoretical knowledge (87.5%, 14/16) and good for converting the learned knowledge and skills into occupation ability (87.5%, 14/16).

Objective To explore the distinctive ultrasonographic characters of enthesitis in patients with spondyloarthritis (SpA) and evaluate the diagnostic value of ultrasonography in SpA by comparing ultrasonography of enthesis in the lower limbs of patients with SpA,rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis(OA).Methods Entheses in the lower limbs (quadriceps tendon,proximal patellar ligament,distal patellar ligament,achilles tendon and plantar aponeurosis) were detected in SpA,RA,OA patients and health controls by ultrasonographic examination.Results A total of 46 SpA,23 RA and 12 OA patients were enrolled in this study,with 26 SpA and 7 RA patients complaining of heel pain(P ＜0.05).There were 126 enthesal sites(126/460,27.2％) were detected abnormal in SpA group,compared with 54 of 230 (23.5 ％) sites in RA group and 27 of 120 (22.5 ％) sites in OA group (P ＞ 0.05).Sixty five (70.7 ％) sites of the distal patellar ligaments were abnormal in SpA group,while that were 19(41.3％)in RA group(P ＜ 0.05)and 13 (54.2％)in OA group.Twenty six sites of tendon thickness and 22 sites of bone erosion in the distal patellar ligaments were found in SpA group,while only one site of each in RA group(P ＜ 0.05) and 4 sites of tendon thickness in OA group (P ＜ 0.05) were found.Tendon thickness,bursal synovitis and bone erosion coexisting in one distal patellar ligament indicated SpA,the sensitivity,specificity and the area under the curve (AUC) of which were 70.7％,65.5％ and 0.740,respectively.Conclusion Tendon thickness and bone erosion of entheses were more likely the distinctive ultrasonographic characters of enthesitis in SpA patients.Tendon thickness,bursal synovitis and bone erosion in the distal patellar ligament could be an ideal tool for SpA diagnosis.

Objective To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of congenital mesenteric hiatal hernia in aduls.Methods The retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted.The clinical data of 11 adult patients with congenital mesenteric hiatal hernia who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University from January 1999 to January 2016 were collected.All patients underwent abdominal X-ray and ultrasound examinations.Patients diagnosed as with intestinal obstruction or suspected intra-abdominal hernias underwent abdominal CT examination,and then were finally confirmed during surgery.Patients diagnosed as with mesenteric hiatal hernia received necrotic tissues resection and tissue repair (small intestine resection and anastomosis) if there was necrosis of hernia contents,and closing mesenteric hiatus.Patients without small intestine necrosis received closure of mesenteric hiatus after retraction of the hernia contents.Observation indicators:(1) clinical manifestations,(2) imaging findings,(3) treatment,(4) pathological examination,(5) follow-up situations.Follow-up using outpatient examination and telephone interview was performed to detect the postoperative complications up to March 2017.Results (1) Clinical manifestations:all 11 patients were acute onset,with incentives of satiation,postprandial exercise and diarrhea.The time from onset to admission was 2.0-30.0 hours,with an average time of 9.8 hours.The main symptoms included abdominal pain,nausea and vomiting,exhaust reduction and other intestinal obstruction performances.Eleven patients received physical examination,and 10 showed abdominal bulge,including 9 with intestinal type.Eleven patients had abdominal tenderness,and 9 combined with rebound tenderness.Abdominal percussion of 11 patients showed hyperresonant without shifting dullness,and active,muted and fading bowel sounds were detected in 1,3 and 7 patients,respectively.(2) Imaging examination:of 11 patients receiving abdominal X-ray examination,2 had intestinal loop and 4 had the intestinal obstruction performances such as typical gas-liquid plane.Abdominal ultrasound examination of 11 patients showed no specific findings due to abdominal intestinal gas,and 10 with peritoneal effusion.Of 11 patients,1 didn't receive abdominal CT scan due to preoperatively misdiagnose with acute appendicitis and 10 underwent abdominal CT scan.Nine patients were diagnosed with intestinal torsion by abdominal CT scan and then underwent enhanced CT scan,and 8 with small mesenteric vascular torsion and swirling sign were diagnosed with small intestine torsion and partial necrosis of small intestine.(3) Treatment:1 patient preoperatively misdiagnosed with acute appendicitis was converted to exploratory laparotomy,and 10 patients underwent exploratory laparotomy due to complete intestinal obstruction or progressive increase in symptoms.Intraoperative exploration showed that intestinal mesenteric hiatus and colon mesenteric hiatus were respectively in 8 and 3 patients,and hiatuses were round or oval,with a diameter of 2.0-8.0 cm and an average of 4.4 cm.Hernia contents were small intestine.The partial small intestine in 10 patients were resected and then mesenteric hiatus was closed due to necrosis of the small intestine,with removal length of 110-250 cm and an average of 176 cm,and length of remaining small intestine was 80-230 cm,with an average of 159 cm.The hernia into small intestine in 1 patient without complete necrosis was retracted to abdominal cavity after symptomatic treatment,and closing mesenteric hiatus.Eleven patients were cured and out of hospital after operation,without nosocomial complications.(4) Pathological examination:small intestine ischemic necrosis was detected in 10 patients after partial small intestine resection.(5) Follow-up situations:all patients were followed up for 12-24 months,without malnutrition,short bowel syndrome and other complications.Conclusions Without history of abdominal trauma or surgery,with incentives of the satiation,postprandial exercise and diarrhea,abnormal retroperitoneal small intestine shadow and small intestinal torsion diagnosed by CT scan and absent intestine sign by enhanced CT scan can be helpful to diagnose congenital mesenteric hiatal hernia in adults and small intestinal necrosis.Surgery is the only effective method in the treatment of congenital mesenteric hiatal hernia in adults.

Purpose The diagnosis of adult onset Still's disease (AOSD) is usually difficult due to the lack of specific clinical manifestation.This paper summarizes the manifestations of 18F-FDG PET/CT in adult onset Still's disease and investigates the value of PET/CT in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of AOSD.Materials and Methods Fiftyfour patients who was diagnosed as AOSD were selected and underwent 1 8F-fluorodeoxyglueosepositron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT).The clinical features,laboratory examination and the maximum standard uptake value (SUVmax) of liver,spleen,bone marrow,lymph node were collected.Then the main PET/CT manifestations of patients with AOSD,the influence factor of SUVmax and correlation between SUVmax and laboratory indexes were analyzed.Results FDG accumulation occurred mainly in bone marrow (88.89％;SUVmax:3.91 ± 1.16),spleen (79.63％,SUVmax:3.24±0.89) and lymph node (77.78％;SUVmax:3.83± 1.97).FDG accumulation can also occurred in joints,parotid gland,submandibular gland,pleural and other organs.Compared with the nonglucocorticoid group,SUVmax of the spleen,bone marrow and lymph node were significantly decreased in the glucocorticoid group with or without fever (P＜0.05),whereas the SUVmax of liver,spleen,bone marrow and lymph node between the two glucocorticoid groups were not statistically different (P＞0.05).The SUVmax of liver,spleen,bone marrow and lymph node between two groups with or without disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs were not statistically different (P＞0.05).Correlation analysis showed that spleen SUVmax and lactate dehydrogenase,bone marrow SUVmax and C reactive protein were weakly correlated (r=0.33 and 0.30,P＜0.05).Conclusion The main manifestations of 18F-FDG PET/CT of AOSD are FDG accumulation in spleen,bone marrow and lymph nodes.Glucocorticoid can reduce the SUVmax.18F-FDG PET/CT can help to rule out malignancy,guide biopsy and assist in definite diagnosis of AOSD.
