OBJECTIVETo summarize laws of acupoint selection of prescriptions for treatment of cervicogenic headache by acupuncture in modern literature.
METHODSRandomized controlled trials (RCTs) involving acupuncture and moxibustion for treatment of cervicogenic headache were recruited from CBM (1978-2012), VIP (1989-2012), Wanfang Database (1998-2012), CNKI (1979-2012), PubMed (1966-2012), EMbase (1980-2012), and Cochrane Library (Volume 4, 2012). Hand recruitment was also auxiliarily used. The frequency and percentage of common acupoints, the distribution of acupoints along 14 meridians and across each part of the body, the application of specific acupoints, and features of using prescriptions for specific acupoints were statistically described.
RESULTSTotally 37 recruited papers included 42 acupoints and 159 times. Common acupoints covered Fengchi (GB20, 28 times), Jingjiaji (EX-B2, 21 times), Baihui (DU 20, 12 times), Tianzhu (BL9, 1 times), and Ashi point (11 times). Meridians along which acupoints were used mainly covered Foot-shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian, Foot-taiyang Bladder Meridian, and DU meridian. Acupoints were mainly needled from head, neck, and upper limbs. Eight confluence points and luo-connecting point were commonest used as specific acupoints. Acupuncture prescriptions were mostly composed of multiple acupoints. Filliform needle was mainly used in acupuncture methods, followed by electro-acupuncture needle.
CONCLUSIONSModern acupuncture treatment of cervicogenic headache focuses on local specific points and acupoints along meridians. Acupoints were mostly selected from head, neck, and upper limbs by syndrome typing of Chinese medicine.

3.Multi-Slice Spiral CT Angiography of the Celiac Trunk in Preoperative Evaluation of Laparoscopic-Assisted Gastrectomy for Advanced Gastric Carcinoma
Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2005;0(12):-
Objective To evaluate the ability of multi-slice spiral CT angiography(MSCTA)in showing the celiac trunk and its degree branches, and the value of MSCTA in preoperative evaluation of laparoscopic-assisted gastrectomy for advanced gastric carcinoma. Methods A total of 25 consecutive patients scheduled for laparoscopic-assisted gastrectomy with D2 lymph node dissection were evaluated by MSCT,CT angiography(CTA)were reconstructed separately using a volume rendering algorithm(VR).The space anatomy characteristics of celiac artery and its degree branches were evaluated according to the CTA results, and with anatomy information,laparoscopic-assisted gastrectomy with D2 lymph node dissection was processed with references to anatomy. Results In all the 25 cases, the left gastric artery and gastroduodenal artery were accurately identified on MSCTA.In 12 of them, the right gastric artery was accurately identified. The origin of the spleen artery is relatively constant.Laparoscopic-assisted gastrectomy with D2 lymph node dissection was successfully completed without conversion to open surgery in all the cases. The reconstructed celiac trunk and branches are identical with anatomy. Conclusions Three-dimensional CTA using MSCT clearly reveals the anatomy of celiac artery and their space structure. It plays an important role in guiding lymph node dissection during laparoscopic-assisted gastrectomy for advanced gastric carcinoma.

[Objective] To investigate the biological characteristics of Wharton’[KG-38x]s jelly-derived mesenchymal stem cells (WJMSCs) and their differentiation into Schwann cell-like cells, and to provide a new cell seed source for nerve tissue engineering or cell therapy. [Methods]Umbilical arteries, veins and umbilical cord tunica externa were removed , and the remaining tissue (Wharton’[KG-38x]s jelly) was harvested. The umbilical cord was cut into small fragments and cultured with DMEM in orderto gather. Cultured WJMSCs were confirmed by the detection of MSC-specific cell-surface markers. WJMSCs were differentiated along a glial cell lineage using an established cocktail of growth factors. Immunocytochemical staining and Western blot were used to evaluate the characteristics of differentiated WJMSCs.[Results]WJMSCs were immunonegative for the haemopoietic cell-surface markers (CD34 and CD45) and neural stem cell marker (nestin), and immunopositive for MSC surface markers CD44, CD105, Stro-1 and vimentin. WJMSCs treated with a mixture of glial growth factors adopted a spindle-like morphology similar to Schwann cells. Immunocytochemical staining and Western blot analysis revealed that the treated cells expressed the glial markers p75 and glial fibrillary acidic protein indicative of differentiation.[Conclusion]WJMSCs can be differentiated into the cells that are Schwann-like in terms of morphologic features and phenotype and may be suitable as Schwann-cell substitutes for nerve repair in clinical application.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2000;0(07):-
Lappaconitine hydrobromide can remove inflammation and swelling, lower temperature and relieve heat. It also can be used for local anesthesia. Clinically lappaconitine hydrobromide can be applied via i.v., i.m. or p.o. for analgesic treatment. Lappaconitine has better effect for moderate pain than for severe pain, which may be associated with the low dose. Future efforts should be made in increasing dosage, combining lappaconitine hydrobromide with other drugs and improving drug delivery technique.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1982;0(01):-
To elucidate the signal transduction mechanism of systemic inflammatory response syndrome induced by LPS,Western blot analysis was used to assay the protein expression and phosphorylation levels of ERK, JNK,and p38 MAPK in murine KC which were stimulated by LPS. It was found that LPS treatment resulted in no significant change in their protein expression, but a rapid transient increase in their phosphorylation levels, which peaked at 30, 45,and 20 minutes, respectively; The values returned to mear baseline within 2 hours. Kinase phosphorylation levels of these three MAPKs induced by LPS were found to be dose dependent in a range of 10 pg/ml to 100ng/ml. No phosphorylation was observed in unstimulated cells. Among them, p38 MAPK shoned fastest and highest phosphorylation levels. The results show that LPS can markedly activate ERK, JNK,and p38 MAPK in KC, and p38 MAPK may play a more important role in LPS induced kupffer cell activation than ERR and JNK.
