Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(12):-
Objective To analyze the incidence, clinical feature and late complications, and treatment for diabetes ketoacidosis (DKA) in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Methods Ninty children with type 1 diabetes mellitus within 10 years were retrospectively reviewed. The onset situation, clinical feature and long-term complication, and treatment of DKA were analized. Results High morbidity was found in 10 to 16 years old children.DKA was often caused by infection; late complications of diabetes mellitus was resulted from interrupted injection of insulin. Conclusions Emergency treatment for DKA may involve the injection of small dose insulin, correction of the disorder of water and electrolysis and regulation of acid-base.The education of patients and parents about diabetes mellitus and long-term injection of insulin are of importance in preventing the complications.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of vertebroplasty using vertebral pedicle screw technique combined with calcium sulfate cement injection in the treatment of thoracolumbar vertebrae fractures. Methods Twenty-eight patients with thoracolumbar vertebrae fractures admitted in our department in recent 2 years were enrolled in this study, including 21 cases of type A,3 cases of type B,and 4 cases of type C.All patients were fixed with vertebral pedicle screw, and then verteplasty was performed using calcium sulfate cement injection. Results All patients were followed up for an average time of 16 months.Within the follow-up,there was no complication noted, such as loosening or breakage of internal fixation, chronical lumbar back pain, and loss of effected vertebral height.Artificial bones injected into vertebrae were absorbed in about 3 months. Conclusion Vertebroplasty using vertebral pedicle screw technique combined with calcium sulfate cement injection is an effective and safe procedure for thoracolumbar vertebrae fractures, which renders it possible to bear weight early and to maintain corrected vertebral height postoperatively.

ObjectiveTo explore the role of autofluorescence bronchoscopy in lung cancer operation and the meaning of choice lung cancer operation mode.MethodsTo retrospectively analyze 32 non-small cell lung cancer patients. Before lung cancer operation, white light bronchoscopy (WLB) and autofluorescence bronchoscopy (AFB) had been done routinely.Compared the different invasive tumor conditions by WLB and AFB,operation modes were decided by the edge of the tumor which were proved by biopsy pathology.ResultsIn 32 cases,19 cases underwent pulmonary lobectomy. One case underwent carinal resection and reconstruction.8 cases underwent sleeve lobectomy.4 cases underwent other therapy because of tumor airway metastasis. In 8 cases which underwent sleeve lobectomy,3 ca ses were found by WLB and AFB together,5 cases were found only by AFB.In 4 cases who had no operation chance,2 cases were found by WLB and AFB together,2 cases were only by AFB.The sensitivity for the detection of bronchial premalignant lesions was extremelyhigher withthe addition of AFB than WLBalone ( P < 0.05 ).ConclusionAutofluorescence bronchoscopy is a safe and efficient technique which could improve the sensitivity of diagnosis in lung cancer than WLB.It is important to select operation mode.

Objective:
To investigate the factors affecting the development of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) among patients with type 2 diabetic mellitus (T2DM), so as to provide insights into manangement of NPDR.
Methods:
T2DM patients without obvious eye discomfort at ages of 18 years and older admitted to Department of Endocrinology, Jining No. 1 People's Hospital during the period from December 2019 to May 2021 were enrolled. Participants' demographics, smoking, alcohol consumption, medical history of diabetes and use of medicines were collected, and the height, weight and blood pressure were measured. The levels of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), fasting blood glucose, blood C-peptide, lipid and creatinine were tested, and retinopathy was examined with a non-mydriatic fundus camera. The factors affecting the development of NPDR were identified among T2DM patients using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
A total of 486 T2DM patients were enrolled, including 354 men (72.84%), with a median age of 48.00 (15.25) years, and median diabetes duration of 35.00 (104.25) months. The prevalence of NPDR was 19.34% among the participants. multivariable logistic regression analysis identified an educational level of senior high school and above (OR=0.546, 95%CI: 0.325-0.918), duration of diabetes (OR=1.008, 95%CI: 1.005-1.012), HbA1c (OR=1.183, 95%CI: 1.034-1.354) and use of non-sulfonylurea insulin secretagogues (OR=1.859, 95%CI: 1.082-3.196) as factors affecting the risk of NPDR among T2DM patients.
Conclusion
A high risk of NPDR is found among T2DM patients with a low educational level, long duration of diabetes, poor HbA1c control and use of non-sulfonylurea insulin secretagogues.

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effect of Huikangling Tablet (HT, extracted from Scabrous Patrinia root) on peripheral blood micrometastasis of differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) patients.
METHODSTotally 87 DTC patients with positive micrometastasis were randomly assigned to the treatment group (45 cases) and the control group (42 cases). DTC endocrine inhibition treatment standards were executed in all patients. They all took levothyroxine sodium (50 microg/tablet, from low dose, 25 microg each time, once per day, 0.5 h before breakfast), and its dosage was gradually added one week later. The dosage was adjusted according to tested results of TSH combined recurrence risk stratification and endocrine suppression induced adverse reactions risk stratification. Patients in the treatment group took HT (0.4 g per tablet, 3 tablets each time, three times per day for a total of 12 weeks) combined TSH suppression therapy, while those in the control group only received TSH suppression therapy. Peripheral micrometastatic cytokeratin 19 (CK19) and polymorphic epithelial mucin1 (MUC1) were detected by FCM at week 4 and 12. Meanwhile, distant metastasis and adverse reactions were observed.
RESULTSAfter 4-week treatment positive micrometastasis was shown in 18 cases (40%) of the treatment group and 29 cases (69%) in the control group with statistical difference (chi2 = 5.68, P < 0.05). After 12-week treatment positive micrometastasis was shown in 7 cases (15.6%) of the treatment group and 17 cases (44.7%) in the control group with statistical difference (chi2 = 8.49, P < 0.01). Pulmonary metastasis occurred in 2 cases and bone metastasis in 1 case of the control group at follow-ups. Cervical lymph node metastasis without accompanied recurrence of thyroid cancer occurred in one case of the treatment group. No obvious liver or renal abnormalities occurred.
CONCLUSIONHT inhibited peripheral blood micrometastasis of DTC patients and its mechanism needed to be further studied.

Microbiology 1992;0(02):-
Coprinus comatus cultivated on cotton seed hull medium decomposed lignocellulose straggly and was high of absolute biological efficiency. Lignocellulose is the main carbon source for the fruiting stage of the fungus. There existed the positive correlation between the degradation rates of the cellulose and hemicellulose in the medium and the activities of extracellular CMCase (carboxymenthelcel lulase), FPase (filter paper cellulase) and HCase (hemicellu-lase), there also existed the positive correlation between the degradation rate of the lignin in the medium and the activity of extracellular laccase, but no correlation between the degradatio rate of the lignin in the medium and the activity of peroxidase. The activity of extracellular amylase was comparatively high at mycelial growth stage, and the protease activity peek was at teh time when the fruitbody matured.
