Objective To discuss digital subtraction angiography(DSA)findings and interventional treatment of broncho-costoarterial pulmonary circulation fistula(BPF).Methods Fifty one patients with massive hemoptysis were undergone DSA showing 19 cases with BPF.All BPF were cmbolized with 500~700?PVA, silk particles and segments, and steel coil;separately or in combination according to shunt orifice size and blood flow velocity. Results There were 4 types of BPF demonstrated by DSA according to feeding and drainage vessels, including 13 cases of bronchial artery-pulmonary artery shunt(AAS),2 cases of bronchial artery-pulmonary venous shunt(AVS),3 cases of intercostal artery-pulmonary artery shunt(IAPS)and 1 case of bronchial arteriovenous malformatoin(B-AVM).All patients were followed up for 1~4 years, with 18 cases of complete symptomless during 7 days postoperatively obtaining, the effective rate of 94.7%.There were 3 recurrent cases within 1 year with the recurrent rate of 15.79%.Conlusions BPF is the main factor for inducing and aggrevating pulmonary hemoptysis and interventional embolization serves as a safe and effective treatment. The method could be used repeatedly for recurrent cases and furthermore emphasis should be put on treating the primary pulmonary diseases simultaneously.(J Intervent Radiol,2007,16:84-87)

Objective To evaluate the toxicity of the intra-articular injection of bevacizumab in the knee of the rabbit. Methods Thirty-two rabbits were divided into 3 experimental groups and normal control group.Three experimental groups were received intra-articular injection of bevacizumab (1, 2, 4 mg respectively) once every three weeks for two times and the normal control group was received the same amount of 0.9% sodium chloride solution. The animals were sacrificed after 6 weeks.Blood test was examined before and after treatment.Pathologic examinations of liver, kidney and artiluar tissue were taken after the sacrifice. The hematoxylin and eosin stain for synovium and cartilage were performed. The AB-PAS stain and Mankin's scale for cartilage were performed. Results All the rabbits kept normal physiological activity. There was no significant difference of major organs and articular tissue between experimental groups and normal control group. There was no significant difference for WBC, RBC, PLT, ALT, BUN and Mankin's scale among all groups. Conclusion No systemic toxicity effects were found for the intra-articular injection of bevacizumab in the knee of the rabbit.

Objective To observe relationship between the phlegm and adhesion molecule and further explore the functions of the phlegm in the metastatic potential of the tumors. Methods Examin the expression difference of ICAM-1,E-cad,MMP-9 of gastric cancer by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay between the phlegm-stamp type and non-phlegm-stamp type, then reducing phlegm by chinese medicine treatment and comparing theirs expression variation. Results The expressions of ICAM-1,E-cad, MMP-9 were obviouslv different between the phlegm group and non-phlegm group[(403.6±99.7)μg/L,(9.08±1.69)mg/L,(465.0±96.64)μg/L &(319.9±81.4)μg/L,(7.56±1.15)mg/L,(228.1±43.79)μg/L].After using xiao-tan-san-jie recipes, the expressions of ICAM-1 and E-cad of the phlegm group were obviously lower than before(P<0.05);the expression of MMP-9 was also falling down, but the difference was not significative. Conclusion There is a correlation between the phlegm and adhesion molecule, which could take action in tumor metastams by affecting adhesion molecule expression.

Aim The study is to observe the clinical efficacy of losartan in hypertentive patientswith left ventricular hypertrophy. Methods 21 case were given losartan for 20 wk and 24h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and color doppler echocardiography were per-formed in the patients before and after treatment.Results The 24 h SBP, 24 h DBP,dDBP, nSBP were from (151 ? 15) 、(93 ?9)、(155 ? 15)、(96 ? 10)、(146 ? 16)、(88 ? 11)mmHg before treatment to (132 ? 11)、(82 ? 8)、(137 ? 12)、(88 ? 9)、(120 ? 9)、(120 ? 15)、(74 ? 9) mmHg after treatment respectively and the IVST, PWT and LVMI were from(14.2 ? 1 .5) mm、(13. 9 ? 1. 45) mm、(152. 1 ? 24. 2) g? m2-1 BSA before treatment to(12. 1 ? 1. 31) mm、 (12. 2 ? 1. 41) mm、(130. 6 ? 23. 1) g? m2-1 BSA after treatment re-spectively. All the parameters after treatment in the patients were significantly decreased ascompared with those before treatment (P

Objective To evaluate the possible factors that may influence the resting energy expenditure (REE) in patients with newly diagnosed esophageal cancer. Methods Totally, 40 patients with newly diagnosed esophageal cancer were prospectively collected from November 2008 to June 2009 in Xinhua Hospital. Nutritional risk screening 2002 (NRS 2002) was performed. REE and body composition were measured using indirect calorimetry and bioeletrical impedence method, respectively. Results Twenty-seven (67.5%) patients were found with nutrition risk, and NRS score was negatively correlated with prealbumin ( r = - 0.444, P = 0.004) and albumin levels (r = - 0.386, P = 0.014). Measured REE and predicted REE values were ( 6770 ± 1360) and (6021 ± 841 ) kJ/d, respectively (P < 0.001 ). Among all 40 patients, 57.5% of them were hypermetabolic,30.0% were normal, and 12.5% were hypometabolic. Stepwise linear regression analysis showed that fat free mass was the only significant determinant variable for REE (P < 0.001 ). Conclusion Fat free mass is a factor than can influence the energy metabolism in patients with newly diagnosed esophageal cancer.
