Characteristics in pulse wave signals (PWSs) include the information of physiology and pathology of human cardiovascular system. Therefore, identification of characteristic points in PWSs plays a significant role in analyzing human cardiovascular system. Particularly, the characteristic points show personal dependent features and are easy to be affected. Acquiring a signal with high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and integrity is fundamentally important to precisely identify the characteristic points. Based on the mathematical morphology theory, we design a combined filter, which can effectively suppress the baseline drift and remove the high-frequency noise simultaneously, to preprocess the PWSs. Furthermore, the characteristic points of the preprocessed signal are extracted according to its position relations with the zero-crossing points of wavelet coefficients of the signal. In addition, the differential method is adopted to calibrate the position offset of characteristic points caused by the wavelet transform. We investigated four typical PWSs reconstructed by three Gaussian functions with tunable parameters. The numerical results suggested that the proposed method could identify the characteristic points of PWSs accurately.

Bioreactor is a key equipment in bioengineering.The bioprocessing efficiency using bioreactors is significantly affected by the reactor configuration.It is apparent that research on the bioreactor structure is one of key issues in bioengineering.Along with industrialization of penicillin mechanically stirred bioreactor was developed,after that large quantity of bioreactors was invented for the sake of the development of mammal and plant cell cultivation,epiphyte cultivation and algae cultivation.Among these bioreactors mechanical stirred bioreactors and airlift bioreactors are very popular.Recent trends of studies on mechanically stirred bioreactors and airlift ones were reviewed.The focus is on the summarization and analysis of 11 kinds of novel bioreactors developed around the world.

Objective To investigate the effects of kui-yang-fang on trefoil factor 1 ( TFF1 ) , epidermal growth fac-tor ( EGF) and epidermal growth factor receptor( EGFR) in acetic acid induced gastric ulcers of rats. Methods50 rats were randomly divided into five groups. The rats of the gastric ulcer model were used by the icy acetic acid. After drug treatment for 14 days,the rats gastric mucosa was collected to compare to the ulcer index,then check the content of TFF1,EGF and EGFR with RT-PCR,and observe TFF1,EGFR with immunohistochemical staining. Re-sults Compared to the control,the levels of TFF1 and EGF in model group decreased, and the difference was not statistically significant. The EGFR level of model group was higher than that of normal group with no statistically significant difference. But the increase of kui-yang-fang groups and ranitidine group was more obvious,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). Compared to the model group,kui-yang-fang and ranitidine groups signifi-cantly elevated the level of TFF1,EGF and EFR in gastric ulcer,the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.01 ) . Immunohistochemical staining showed that TFF1 and EGFR expression in kui-yang-fang and ranitidine groups were significantly increased,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01), but the increase of kui-yang-fang of high-dose group was more obvious. Conclusion One of the possible mechanism is kui-yang-fang pro-motes expression of TFF1,EGF and EGFR to protect and repair gastric tissue.

Objective:To assess the efficacy and safety of oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery (OBCS) in the treatment of early breast cancer. Methods:The clinicopathological data of breast cancer patients who were treated with OBCS (67 cases) and standard breast-conserving surgery (SBCS;117 cases) in Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Guangxi Medical University were retrospectively analyzed. Postop-erative complication, specimen weight, margins, and surgery re-excision rate between the two groups were compared. Results:Sero-ma (14.9%versus 48.7%, P<0.001), hematoma (4.5%versus 14.5%, P=0.035), and poor wound healing (3.0%versus 11.9%, P=0.036) were more common in the SBCS group than in the OBCS group. The patient satisfaction in the OBCS group was statistically higher than in the SBCS group (P<0.05). Compared with standard surgery, oncoplastic techniques can be employed for significantly larger tumors (25.04 mm versus 21.14 mm, P<0.001). OBCS resulted in higher mean specimen weights (92.24 g versus 57.44 g, P<0.001), wider clear nearest margins (12.04 mm versus 9.58 mm, P<0.001), and wider furthest margins (24.16 mm versus 15.24 mm, P<0.001). No statisti-cal increase was observed in further surgery re-excision of margins. Conclusion:OBCS is more successful than standard wide local exci-sion in treating larger tumors and obtaining wider radial margins. Oncoplastic approach showed no increase in postoperative complica-tion rate. The postoperative complication was excellent. OBCS is a safe and effective procedure for early breast cancer.

Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristics and therapeutic strategies of patients infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV)genotype 6 in Guangxi area.Methods Serum samples were collected from 150 patients with serologic HCV RNA positive in Guangxi, China. Reverse transcription nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR)was employed to amplify HCV NS5B fragments and the DNA products were sequenced.The sequences obtained were compared with the sequences deposited in GenBank to construct a phylogenetic tree.Among the patients who accomplished 48-week treatment of interferon plus ribavirin and 24-week follow-up after stopping medication,10 cases were infected with genotype 6a and 28 cases with genotype 1 HCV.The virological responses were evaluated at week 4,week 12,week 24 of treatment and week 24 after the end of the treatment.Results Among all recruited 150 cases,21 (14.0%)cases were HCV genotype 6 including two subtypes 6a (n = 20 )and 6d (n = 1 ). Genotype 6 HCV mainly affected intravenous drug users, especially with age of ≤ 40 years old. Phylogenetic tree showed that there was very close evolutionary distance between HCV 6 strains of Guangxi and Hongkong,China strains (Y12083,DQ 480515)and Vietnam strain (EU246930).All of 10 HCV genotype 6a patients who completed 48 weeks of antiviral therapy achieved sustained virological response (SVR).The rate of SVR was higher than that of genotype 1 patients,but without statistically different significance (10/10 vs 75 .0%,P >0.05).Conclusion HCV genotype 6 in Guangxi area mainly affects young intravenous drug users with age of ≤ 40 years old,which has high homology with Hongkong,China and Vietnam standard strains.Patients with HCV 6 genotype infection treated with interferon plus ribavirin for 48 weeks usually achieve favorable SVR.

Objective To compare the successful ratio, efficacy and complications between ultrasound-guided and X-ray-guided endoscopic biliary drainage (EBD). Methods EBD was performed in 62 patients under ultrasound guidance and 54 patients under X-ray guidance. Serum bilirubin, the bile duct diameter and the changes of clinical symptoms were compared before and after the procedure. Results Tube placement was successfully achieved in 54 of 62 patients under ultrasound guidance and 51 of 54 patients under X-ray guidance. The serum direct bilirubin and the common bile duct diameter in patients with ultrasound guidance before and one week after procedure were (205.41±115.27) μmol/L vs. (106.47±82.16) μmol/L and (12.6±7.1) mm vs. (8.5±3.1) mm, respectively, with significant difference (all P values<0.05). Whereas they were (211.14±106.25) μmol/L vs. (110.89±59.47) μmol/L and (13.1±7.0) mm vs. (8.8± 3.2) mm, respectively, in patients with X-ray guidance (P<0.05). No complications such as abdominal pain, fever and elevated amylase were found in patients with ultrasound guidance, while 3 patients (5.9%) with X-ray guidence had above complications. Conclusions X-ray is a most effective method in guidance of EBD. However, ultrasound guidence, which may avoid unfavorable factors such as X-ray radiation and allergic contrast agent, has some advantages including real-time display, mobile convenience and emergency bedside application. It can instead of X-ray in performance of endoscopic nasobiliary drainage and endoscopic retrograde biliary drainage in patients with bile duct stone and mild narrow ducl caused by tumors.

ObjectiveTo discuss the clinical efficacy of hyperextension reduction with percutaneous kyphoplasty in treatment for osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture.MethodsTwenty-three patients with 23 vertebral compression fractures underwent hyperextension reduction with percutaneous kyphoplasty from September 2010 to October 2011.The vasual analogue scale(VAS) score and complications were recorded during followed up.Results All cases were successfully experienced the procedure using unilateral or bilateral percutaneous pedicle underwent hyperextension reduction.The operation time was (75 ± 45) minutes,the mean volume of cement injected into each vertebral body was(4.9 ± 1.9) ml.All patients had successful intervention without spinal cord injury,pulmonary embolism.Followed up(7.5 ± 6.5 ) months,the symptoms of the patients were improved,preoperative VAS score was (7.5 ± 0.7 ) scores,reduced to (3.4 ±0.4) scores at day 1 postoperatively,(2.7 ±0.5) scores at day 7 postoperatively and (2.3 ±0.5) scores at month 1 postoperatively,there was significant difference between preoperative and postoperative (P＜ 0.05).ConclusionsApplication of hyperextension reduction with percutaneous kyphoplasty can relieve pain and restore the vertebral body height,it may be an effective treatment method for patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture.

Objective To observe the clinical effects and safety of preventing progressive cerebral infafction failure to be controlled by Aspirin with the low-molecular-weight heparin combined with traditional Chinese medicine.Methods All cases diagnosed by CT SCan to be progressive cerebral infarction were randomly recruited into a control group and a treatment group,with 48 cases in each group.The treatment group was treated with low molecular heparin of 4000u/times,twice/day for 7 days MS and then was administrated with warfarin and Daqinjiao decoction.The control group was treated with aspmn of 200mg/day for 7 days and 150mg/day for the rest.Neurological deficit SCOre and efficacy evaluation was assayed 30 days before and after the treatment.Results Clinical results showed that the therapeutic effects oftlle treatment group Was much better than the control group(P＜0.05).Besides the incidence of serious bleeding complications were mcreasmg.Conclusion Low molecular heparin combined with traditional Chinese medicine is effective and safe to treat the patients of progresmve cerebral infaretion whose disease failed to be controlled bv Aspirin.

Objective To observe the effect of p53 protein on smooth muscle cell(VSMC)in rabbit artery balloon injury.Methods Restenosis model of carotid artery after balloon injury was established in rabbits.30 rabbits were divided into 2 groups,the sham group(n = 6)and the vascular injury group(n = 24).With H.E.staining and automatic image analysis system,we investigated artery morphology alteration and measured the area of arterial intima and media.The expressions of p53 protein were detected by immunohistochemical analysis.Results With H.E.staining and automatic image analysis and immunohistochemistry,the results showed that the expression of p53 was significantly reduced and the intima area was increased in model group compared with the sham group(P ＜0.01).But the expression of p53 in media was remarkably reduced compared with intima(P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions The possible mechanism of preventing arterial restenosis in the balloon injury might be related with p53,which may be through inhibiting neointimal proliferation in arterial restenosis .

Objective To analyze the correlation between postoperative systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) and calculi composition following flexible ureteroscopy (f-URS) lithotripsy.Methods The clinical data of 1 130 patients with kidney stones treated with f-URS lithotripsy in the department of urology surgery of our hospital from November 2013 to August 2016 were collected to analyze the correlation between postoperative SIRS occurrence and calculi composition.Results The compositions of urinary stones were mainly calcium oxalate monohydrate(67.7 ％),carbonate apatite (14.7 ％),anhydrous uric acid (6.4 ％),six magnesium ammonium phosphate (6.2 ％) and calcium oxalate dihydrate (3.2 ％).Only six magnesium ammonium phosphate was related to the development of SIRS(P＜0.01).Conclusion Six magnesium ammonium phosphate has a correlation with the development of SIRS following f-URS lithotripsy,and the results of stone compositions analysis can help to prevent the occurrence of SIRS after f-URS lithotripsy.
