[Objective] The objective of the study was to determine the clinical and radiological outcomes of cervical interbody fusion using ROI cages. [Methods] Patients showing degenerative cervical mono- or bi-level pathology were prospectively included. Using AP and lateral radiographs, segmental height of the treated segments was determined quantitatively. Cage characteristics were described qualitatively. Clinical data such as the neck disability in-dex(NDI), numeric rating scale(NRS) were col ected at al time points .[Results] The scores of NDI, NRS were decreased gradual y, and stable after half year;but they were respectively reduced to 8.64 and 1.57 from 23.32 and 8.93, with difference of statistical meaning. The intervertebral angle increased af-ter operation, then decreased gradual y and was stable after half year, was 3.6 °after 1 year. The intervertebral height was maximum after operation, then re-duced gradual y, and was 5.32mm or so after 1 year. 16 patients were al cured after 1 year, with short fusion rate reaching 100%. [Conclusions] The clini-cal and radiological short-term outcome of anterior cervical discectomy and fusion using ROI cage are excel ent.

ObjectiveTo detect the mechanism of the growth inhibition and apoptosis of human acute leukemia cell line U937 cells induced by honokiol.MethedsThe proliferation inhibition was detected by MTT method.Cell apoptosis was tested by Hoechst 33342 staining and flow cytometry with Annexin V/PI staining.RT-PCR was used to detect the mRNA expression of the apoptosis gene Bcl-2,Bax,Caspase 3,Caspase 8 and Caspase 9.ResultsThe inhibition effect of honokiol(5 μg/ml,48 h) on U937 cells proliferation could he observed,and the inhibition rate of 10 μg/ml honokiol on cell proliferation reached above 50％ (48 h).U937 cells proliferation could be completely inhibited for 120 h. U937 cells apoptosis rate reached 26.8％ (P ＜0.01)after being treated with 10 μg/ml honokiol.After being treated with 10 μg/ml honokiol for 48 h,the Bcl-2 gene expression in U937 cells was reduced (control group:0.33 ± 0.02,experimental group:0.14 ±0.01,P ＜ 0.01 ),and the Bax gene expression was elevated ( control group:0.1 ± 0.01,experimental group:0.87 ± 0.08,P ＜ 0.01 ).The gene expressions of Caspase 3 ( control group:0.48 ± 0.01,experimental group:0.87±0.06,P ＜0.01),Caspase 8(control group:0.23±0.02,experimental group:0.41 ±0.07,P ＜ 0.01 ) and Caspase 9 ( control group:0.44 ± 0.05,experimental group:0.76 ± 0.06,P ＜ 0.01 ) were all increased.The activity of Caspase-3 was 0.325 ±0.089,which was significantly higher than that of the control group ( P ＜0.01 ).ConclusionHonokiol can significantly inhibit the proliferation and induce cell apoptosis of human acute leukemia cell line U937 cells.The mechanism is related to the up-regulation of Bax and down-regulation of Bcl-2,and the endogenous and exogenous pathways are both inolved in the apoptosis process.

Purpose:To observe the curative effect and the clinical-benefit-response of patients with advanced pancreatic cancer who used a combine of Gemcitabine,5-FU and PDD.Methods:The treatment with Gemcitabine (800 mg/m 2) was followed by 5-FU(600 mg/m 2) and DDP (30 mg/m 2),administered on days 1,8 and 15 of 28-day schedule. The curative effect was estimated according to the standard of WHO and the clinical benefit response was evaluated at the same time. The standard of CBR included pain,physical states and body weight. Results:Twenty-five (25/29) patients received over two cycles chemotherapy. 6(24%) partial response (PR), 12 (48%) stable disease and 7(28%) progressive disease were observed. According to the standard of CBR, 18(62.1%) patients achieved the clinical-benefit-response level. Therapy was well tolerated. The main toxicities included that the alimentary tract reactions and the marrow depression. Grade 3-4 thrombocytopenia was reported in 8 (27.6%) patients. Conclusions:The combination of GEM, 5-FU and DDP is a moderatedly active treatment with tolerable side-effects. It has definite response rate and high CBR rate in pancreatic cancer.

OBJECTIVE: To introduce validation to the equipments of self-made preparations in medical institutions.METHODS: The necessity and difficulties for the validation of the equipments of self-made preparations in medical institutions were analyzed from aspects of the specificity of self-made preparations,the status quo of the preparation equipment as well as the requirements on the equipments etc.RESULTS: The scope and the procedures of the validation on the equipments of preparations had been presented.CONCLUSIONS: Medical institutions should adopt suitable methods,approach and validation procedures to develop corresponding validation work for equipments of preparations based on their own condition.

Objective To establish a method of HPLC for determination of rhamnocitrin in Oxytropis falcate Bunge.Methods The HPLC method was used.Chromatographic column:Lichrospher C18(4.6 mm? 250 mm,5 ?m) reversed-phase column;mobile phase:0.4% phosphoric acid in water-methanol(20∶80);flow rate:1.0 mL/min;detective wavelength:350 nm.Results Rhamnocitrin was liner at the range of 4～ 30 ?g(r =0.999 8),and its average recovery rate was 99.7%,RSD=1.4%.Conclusion The method was simple and accurate,so it can be used for the quality control of Oxytropis falcate Bunge.

Objective To study the relationship between hyperhomocysteinemia and intracranial and extracranial vascular stenosis in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease.Methods 405 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease were chosen to detect their serum homocysteine(Hcy) concentrations using automatic biochemical analyzer by enzymatic cycle detection,and the levels of serum folate and Vitamin B12 were detected .The intracranial vascular were detected by Transcranial Doppler, and the extracranial vascular were detected by Color Doppler. The internal carotid arteries(ICA) were classified as normal, mild stenosis(95%). Results Mean serum Hcy concentrations were significantly higher in patients with stenosis of intracranial or (and) extracranial vascular than that in the patients with no arterial stenosis (P0.05). The serum Hcy concentrations were different significantly in patients with different severities of the ICA stenosis and the MCA stenosis (all P0.05). Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of endoscopic treatment in patients with primary hepatic carcinoma and gastroesophageal variceal hemorrhage. Methods Thirty cases of hepatic carcinoma with gastroesophageal variceal hemorrhage diagnosed with gastroscopy between January 2008 and June 2015 in Chinese PLA General Hospital and Hainan branch were included. Patients′ clinical data, complications and therapeutic effects of endoscopy were retrospectively analyzed. Results All patients underwent endoscopy successfully. No recurrent bleeding was found in any case after treatment. Eight cases of varicosis nearly disappeared. Six?month follow?up showed three cases of gastrointestinal bleeding, one case of death of bleeding, and no recurrence hemorrhage in 27 others. Conclusion Endoscopic treatment could safely and effectively control the primary liver cancer combined with gastroesophageal variceal hemorrhage, hence may provide opportunity for further treatment of liver cancer.

Objective To investigate the levels of IL-18,IL-10 and MMP-9 in coronary heart disease(CAD)patients with in-stent restenosis(ISR)after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)treatment,so as to discuss the influence of inflammatory fac-tors to ISR after PCI.Methods CAD patients with ISR after PCI were angiographically re-evaluated and formed the ISR group(n=68)and the non-ISR group(n=173)based on the presence or absence of ISR.109 subjects without angiographic evidence of CAD formed a reference control group(control group).The plasma IL-18,IL-10 and MMP-9 concentrations of subjects were measured. Results The concentrations of serum IL-18 and MMP-9 in ISR group and non-ISR group were significantly higher than control group,while IL-10 level was the opposite.Contrasted with non-ISR group,the concentrations of serum IL-18 and MMP-9 in ISR group were significantly higher,but IL-10 level was the opposite too.There were significantly statistical differences(P <0.05)Con-clusion There is significant correlation between ISR and serum levels of IL-18,IL-10 and MMP-9.The inflammation may have im-portant impact on the process of ISR.

Objective To investigate the clinical features of anterior pituitary hypofunction.Methods A retrospective analysis was carried out on the data of 117 patients with anterior pituitary hypofunction during 1994-2010.Results There were 60.68％ male and 39.32％ female patients respectively.The onset age was from 13 to 79 years,with 79.12％ of the patients more than 40 years old.There were 57 cases with sellar tumors ( 40.17％ ),in which 55 cases( 96.49％ )were operated and (or) treated with radiotherapy.35 cases were operated via the frontal approaches( 66.04％ ) and 18 cases underwent transsphenoidal surgery ( 33.96％ ).There were 108 cases with hyponatremia with the first symptoms of weakness,anorexia,nausea,and vomiting induced by ACTH deficiency (92.31％ ).There were 23 cases accompanied with central diabetes insipidus( 19.66％ )and 82 cases with coronary heart disease( 70.09％ ).Conclusion Owing to the difference in etiological factors,the incidence,early symptoms,and the hormones involved are greatly different.The main cause is pituitary tumor,which occured more in aged person,more in males than females.
