Objective To study changes in renal histology of neonatal rats with prolonged hyperoxic lung injury and monitored the expression of IFN-γ in kidney.Methods Full-time newborn rats were continuously exposed to oxygen(80％ ±5％ 02,n =100) or room air(21％ O2,n =100) after birth.Dynamic changes of renal histology and the expression of interferon (IFN)-γin kidney by immunohistochemical method were monitored on day 1,3,7,14,21 in the hyperoxia and control group.Results Normobaric hyperoxia indnced mild renal damage including renal tubular hydropic degeneration,edema,dilation,tubular interstitial vessel dilation,congestion,and rare tubular hemorrhage,necrosis,regeneration.Fibrosis were not seen.On day 3,7,14,the intensity of IFN-γexpression increased compared with the control group (P ＜ 0.05) and significantly increased on day 7 (P ＜ 0.01).IFN-γwere mainly expressed in tubular epithelia cells.On day 21,the intensity of IFN-γ expression decreased,and there was little difference compared with the control group.Condusions Renal damage can be induced by prolonged hyperoxia exposure.The intensity of IFN-γexpression increased in kidney,which contributed to the damage of kidney.

Objective To explore the changes of renal histology of neonatal rats with prolonged hyperoxic lung injury.Methods One-day-old rats were continuously exposed to oxygen ( 80％ ± 5％,n =60 ) or room air( 21％,n =60) after birth.HE stained renal samples were scored to evaluate the changes of histology on day 1,3,7,14,21 in the hyperoxia and control group.Results Compared with control group,hyperoxic group showed mild renal damage.Renal tubular hydropic degeneration,edema,dilation could be seen on day3,7.Renal tubular interstitial vessel dilation,congestion,and rare tubular hemorrhage,necrosis,regeneration could be seen on 14,21days.Fibrosis was not founded.There was no significant difference of histologic scores within 3 days (P ＞0.05 ),but after 7 days the difference of two groups were singnificant between the control and hyperoxia groups(P ＜0.05).Conclusions Hyperoxia exposure can lead to mild renal histology damage in neonatal rats with hyperoxic lung injury.

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of serum ferritin (SF) in child with Still's disease (SD).Methods This study included 28 children with SD who were treated at the Pediatric Department in the First Hospital of China Medical University from 2001 to 2007.Their clinical features,biochemical parameters,and the results of serum ferritin were noted.Results In SD group,there were 28 cases with fever (100%),14 cases with rash (50%),18 cases with arthritis/arthralgia(64%),24 cases with leukocytosis (86%),27 cases with SF and ESR elevation (96%).The average SF in SD group [(8182±3156)μg/L] was significantly higher than that in the control group [(244±210)μg/L](P<0.01).Conclusion Fever,rash,arthritis/arthralgia,and leukocytosis are main clinical characteristics of child SD.Inereasing serum level of ferritin will probably indicate the activity period of SD.

Objective To investigate the clinical implication value of using Doppler ultrasound to detect renal hemodynamic changes in children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura.Methods Color Doppler ultrasound was used to detect renal hemodynamic changes of main renal arteries and intedobar renal arteries and arcs renal arteries in 40 cases of Henoch-Schonlein purpura,whose urine routine,microalbuminuria were also tested,and 32 healthy children served as control group.Results Maximum crest flow rate (Vmax) during systole,minimum crest flow rate(Vmin) during diastole and resistance index(RI) of main renal arteries and interlobar renal arteries of children in HSP group were all higher than those of control group,while Vmax,Vmin and RI of arcs renal arteries were almost the same.Color doppler ullrasound showed that 28 cases were abnormal in renal flow,which accounted for 70％.Fourteen cases with abnormality were detected in routine urine and 18 cases in microalbuminutia,which accounted for 35％ and 45％ of total cases respectively.Sensitivity of color doppler ultrasound was higher than microalbuminuria and routine urine,while the sensitivity difference was not statistically different between microall uminuria and routine urine.Conclusions Renal hemodynamics is a sensitive index to find out renal lesion of early stages in children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura.

Breast reconstruction after radical mastectomy significantly improves the patient' s quality of life and has become an important part of comprehensive treatments. However, there are a number of reconstruction problems. The choice of breast reconstruction after breast cancer should be considered in general. Immediate reconstruction is not superior to breast-conserving surgery, while immediate reconstruction is superior to delayed reconstruction, and choices vary between implant reconstruction and autologous reconstruction. In short, breast reconstruction should be based on the radical principle with balance of beauty.

OBJECTIVE: To synthesize diosgenin derivatives and investigate their anti-tumor activities in vitro. METHODS: Designed and docked by AutoDock4.2, a series of diosgenin derivatives were selectively prepared from diosgenin. Their anti-tumor activities in vitro were evaluated for human malignant melanoma A375 cells, human lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells, human hepatoma HepG-2 cells and human myeloid leukemia K562 cells by MTT assay. RESULTS: Twelve novel compounds were synthesized and the basic structures were characterized by 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR. MTT assay showed that most of the diosgenin derivatives exhibited some anti-tumor activities. CONCLUSION: Most of the synthesized compounds had certain antitumor activity and showed no or little toxicity against the normal cells. Copyright 2012 by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association.

Objective To study the effect of Thy-1.1 stem cell transplantation on endothelial hyperplasia and restenosis.Methods Thirty 4-6 weeks male SD rats were sacrificed to obtain the Thy-1.1 stem cells.Carotid artery were injured by ballon in sixty female SD rat's were randomized to receive stem cell transplantation(5?10~6 Thy-1.1,n=30)or saline approach(n=30).About 5?10~6 Thy-1.1 stem cells were injected into the injured arter- y after carotid artery injury;while the control rats underwent carotid artery injury and was injected the same amount of saline.The animals were sacrificed,3,7,14,21 and 28 days after balloon denudation.The samples of carotid artery were harvested for pathological examination,RT-PCR and in situ hyhridzation(ISH)were used to detect the transplanted cells in the injured artery.Results The intimal thickness was thinner in stem cell transplantation group(I/M,Stem cell transplantation group:2.06?0.28 vs control group 2.42?0.19,P

ObjectiveTo enhance the fund efficiency of dental research programs supported by National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC) and to reveal the achievements and progresses of the funds.MethodsThe data of programs in dental and craniofacial field supported by NSFC from 1999 to 2006 and completed between 2003 and 2009 were collected based on the final reports by the investigators.The data of personnel training,research publication,patent,awards,and academic communication at domestic and international levels were all collected and analysed. Results There were 307 grants in total,including 185 general programs,73 Young Scientists Funds,13 regional funds,3 Key Programs,1 National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and 32 others.An average of 4 postgraduate students was trained by each program.In general,the outcomes of general programs were better than those of Young Scientists Fund,and the latter was better than regional fund.There was steady increase each year in the amount of papers published in SCI journals,and about half of the investigators published SCI papers.In addition,9 patents were registered and 13 prizes were won, and the investigators participated 610 domestic and international exchanges.Conclusions The continuously increase of NSFC support in dental field has led to substantial achievement,although patent application,the quality of papers and novel ideas need to be improved.

Hyperthermia is a means of adjuvant therapy, which have a sensitizing effect to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. In recent years, the molecular biology, cell and animal experimental research of tumor thermochemotherapy progressed very quickly, which provide theoretical foundation and guidance for us to further develop hyperthermia combined with chemotherapy in clinical trials. In this paper, the studies with the mechanism of thermo-chemotherapy treatment of tumor, different ways of thermochemotherapy and commonly used drugs in thermochemotherapy are reviewed.

OBJECTIVE To explore the infection control measures in operation of mass earthquake wounded victims,and improve nursing quality.METHODS By setting up infection control group,strengthening nurse' awareness of infection control,strict division of region for operation,paying great attention to early first-aid treatment and strengthening the key link in the quality control.RESULTS Infection control were effectively improved the salvage rate of mass earthquake victims.There was non-cross infection among victims.CONCLUSIONS According to the infection trait of earthquake wounded victims,perfecting the system of measures of infection control is an important way to control hospital infection of mass earthquake wounded victims.
