AIM:To establish an assay of oxymatrine and matrine in Compound Shiwei Tablets(Folium Pyrrosiae, Radix Sophorae Flavescentis, Radix Astragali, Herba Polygoni Avicularis, etc.) and Radix Sophorae Flavescentis by HPLC. METHODS: Diamonsil C 18 (10 ?m,250 mm?4.6 mm) analytical column was used.The mobile phase consisted of methanol-0.2% phosphoric acid solution (45∶55). The detection wavelength was 220nm. RESULTS : The average recoveries of oxymatrine and matrine in Compound Shiwei Tablets were 100.3% and 100.6% , respectively and in Radix Sophorae Flavescentis were 101.0% and 101.2%, respectlively. CONCLUSION: This method could be used for the quality evaluation of Compound Shiwei Tablets and Radix Sophorae Flavescentis.

OBJECTIVETo search for an optimal protocol and freezing conditions for the cryopreservation of microamount round spermatids of the mouse.

METHODSWe compared the survival rates of frozen-thawed microamount round spermatids of the mouse achieved by vitrification or standard slow freezing with different concentrations of glycerol (5, 7, or 9%) and different lengths of equilibrium time (0, 15, 30, 45, or 60 min).

RESULTSUnder the conditions of 7% glycerol and 30 min equilibrium, both vitrification and standard slow freezing achieved high survival rates of spermatids, and the former obtained an even higher rate than the latter ([72.9 ± 15.4]% vs [58.2 ± 17.7]%, P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONA high rate of frozen-thawed microamount round spermatids of the mouse can be achieved by vitrification under the conditions of 7% glycerol and 30 min equilibrium.

Objective To evaluate the value of CT in the diagnoses and treatment of the liquid in the renal sub capsule.Methods The spiral CT images and clinic material of the liquid in the renal sub capsule were concluded in 25 cases.Results The total accuracy of CT showed 100% for the liquid in the renal sub capsule and reliable for the injury of liver and spleen,fracture of lumbar vertebra and abdominal accumulation of water.Conclusion CT diagnoses is the evidance to choose treatment for the liquid in the renal sub capsule with conservation,intervention,or operation.

Concurrent chemoradiotherapy is the optimal regimen for patients with inoperable locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC).The application of new technologies such as positron emission tomography (PET)/CT and four dimensional CT (4D-CT) enhances the accuracy of radiotherapy and decreases adverse reaction.Induction chemotherapy and consolidation chemotherapy do not show benefit to survival.The targeted therapy and immunotherapy have the potential of improving the outcomes of inoperable LA-NSCLC.

Objective To investigate the influence of nebulized Pulmieort respules inhalation after endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS)on the expression of epithelial Na~+ channel(ENaC)protein in nasal mucosa. Methods Forty-four patients with nasal polyps undergoing ESS were randomly divided into Pulmieort respules treatment group(n=21,nebulized Pulmieort respules inhalation for 10 d after ESS)and Rhinocort control group(n=23,Rhinoeort aqueous nasal spray for 10 d after ESS).All the patients were performed biopsy of membrane on the residual middle turbinate 14 d after ESS,eosinophils (Eos)and neutrophils(Neu)per hundred inflammation cells were counted under microscope during ESS and after ESS,and the expression of ENaC protein was detected by immunofluorescence assay. Results The percentages of Eos and Neu decreased in two groups after treatment,and the percentage of Neu in Pulmieort respules treatment group was significantly lower than that in Rhinoeort control group(P<0.05).The expression of ENaC protein after treatment in Pulmieort respules treatment group was significantly lower than that in Rhinoeort control group(P<0.01). Conclusion Application of pulmieort respules after ESS can decrease Neu infiltration and inhibit expression of ENaC protein,which can relieve acute inflammation and edema of nasal mucosa.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of different doses of leuprorelin acetate in in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVF-ET).Methods From January 2011 to December 2011,the data of 268 patients undergoing IVF and (or) intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in Reproductive Medical Center,Clinical College of PLA,Anhui Medical University were studied retrospectively.All the patients were divided into three groups based on with long protocol and controlled ovarian stimulation (COH) including 83cycles with 1.25 mg of leuprorelin in low dose group,68 cycles with 1.88 mg of leuprorelin in high dose group,117 cycles with 1.25 mg of diphereline in control group.The serum follicle stimulating hormone (FSH),luteinizing hormone (LH),estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P) before gonadotropin (Gn)administration on the days 3-5 of the menstrual cycle and on the day of hCG administration were detected,the dose and duration of Gn,number of oocytes retrieved,number of mature oocytes,the rates of fertilization,embryo cleaved,good-quality embryos clinical pregnancy and early miscarriage were compared among three groups.Results There were no significant differences in age,the level of LH and P on the day of hCG administration among three groups (P ＞ 0.05).The level of FSH was (3.8 ± 1.6) U/L in low dose leuprorelin group,(3.1 ± 1.4) U/L in high dose of leuprorelin group and (2.4 ± 1.3) U/L in diphereline group before Gn administration,which reached statistical difference (P ＜ 0.05).The mean length of Gn stimulation were (9.8 ± 1.7) days in low dose leuprorelin group,(10.5 ± 1.8) days in high dose of leuprorelin group and (11.1 ± 1.4) davs in diphereline group,which reached statistical difference (P ＜0.05).The mean dose of Gn was (24 ± 7) in low dose of leuprorelin group,which was significantly higher than (27 ± 9) in high dose of leuprorelin group and (28 ± 7) in diphereline group (P ＜ 0.05).The level of LH was (2.7 ± 1.6) U/L in low dose of leuprorelin group and (2.2 ± 1.0) U/L in diphereline group before Gn administration,which reached statistical difference(P ＜ 0.05).The cancel cycles were 5 in low dose of leuprorelin group,4 in high dose of leuprorelin group and 7 in diphereline group.The number of ovum was (14 ±7) low dose of leuprorelin group,(13 ±6) in high dose of leuprorelin group,(14 ±6) in diphereline group.The rates of fertilization was 66.26％ (758/1144)in low dose of leuprorelin group,67.01％ (589/879) in high dose of leuprorelin group and 68.54％ (1111/1621) in diphereline group,the rates of goodquality embryos was 64.22％ (472/735) in low dose of leuprorelin group,60.50％ (340/562) in high dose of leuprorelin group and 59.59％ (640/1074) in diphereline group,clinical pregnancy was 49％ (38/78) in low dose of leuprorelin group,42％ (27/64) in high dose of leuprorelin group and 50％ (55/110) in diphereline group,early miscarriage was 18％ (7/38) in low dose of leuprorelin group,15％ (4/27) in high dose of leuprorelin group and 15％ (8/55) in diphereline group,which did not show significant differences (P ＞0.05).Conclusions Both 1.25 mg and 1.88 mg leuprorelin acetate could obtain good downregulation effect and clinical outcomes.1.25 mg leuprorelin acetate could decrease patient's costs by reducing Gn dose and duration.

Objective To detect the serum levels of epidermal growth factor（EGF）in rheumatoid arthritis（RA）patients,and explore the possible role of EGF in RA.Methods The serum level of EGF was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay（ELISA）in 38 RA patients diagnosed according to dianostic criteria for RA by American Rheumatism Association and 20 healthy controls.Rheumatoid factor（RF）,erythrocyte sedimentation rate（ESR）and C-creative protein（CRP）were also measured in these 38 RA patients.The relation beween the serum level changes of EGF and the corresponding clinical indexes in the two groups was statistically analyzed.Results Compared with the healthy individuals,the serum EGF levels of RA patients increased significantly（P 0.05）.Compared with simple bone rarefaction patients,the serum levels of EGF increased significantly in the bone erosion patients（P 0.05）.The serum levels of EGF in RA patients had no correlation with RF,ESR and CRP levels（P 0.05）.Conclusion The evident increase of serum EGF level in RA patients,especially in bone erosion patients,suggests that EGF may partly play a role in the pathogenesis of RA.

Animal model is very important for anti-EV71 (enterovirus 71) drug and vaccine development. 1-day-old suckling EV71 mouse model is the main in vivo model used in China. 1-day-old suckling EV71 mouse is too small to perform antiviral experiment. And the route of administration and dosage capacity are also restricted. A strong virulence EV71 virus strain was selected after screening from five EV71 strains with 1-day-old suckling mice. A mouse-adapted EV71 strain with increased virulence in 12-day-old suckling mice, EV71-M5, was generated after five serial passages of the parental EV71 strain in mice. Virus titers of EV71 infected mice heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney, small intestine, brain and muscle tissue were determined by cytopathic effect (CPE) assay. The virus used in this model is the first isolated EV71 strain in China. And 2-week-old suckling mice were used in this model. This is a supplement for the EV71 animal model in China. Establishment of this EV71 model will provide an attractive platform for anti-EV71 vaccine and drug development.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of enlargement of the anterior space of the right branch of portal vein in early cirrhosis.Methods 37 cases with early cirrhosis and 42 cases with type B hepatitis proved by pathology as well as 40 health cases underwent MDCT examinations.The width of the anterior space of right branch of portal vein(RBPV)and the diameters of RBPV in each group were measured on CT imaging,then the results were analysed comparatively.Results The width of anterior space of RBPV and the diameters of RBPV were(5.5±2.4)mm and(11.84±1.91)mm in health group,(13.6±5.8)mm and(12.36±61.97)mm in early cirrhosis group,(5.7±3.1)mm and(12.13±1.89)mm in type B hepatitis group,respectively.There were significant differences in the width of the anterior space of RBPV between three groups(P＜0.0001).However,there were not significant differences in the width of RBPV among these three groups(P＞0.05).While,there were significant differences of the width of the anterior space of RBPV and the diameters of the RBPV between normal control and type B hepatitis(P＞0.05).Conclusion CT sign of the anterior space of RBPV increased is of important value in diagnosis of early cirrhosis.
