ObjectiveTo investigate the expression of autocrine motility factor receptor (AMFR)in papillary thyroid carcinoma and its relationship with clinical characteristics of this disease.Methods Real - time quantitative PCR and immunohistochemical methods were used to analyze the expression of AMFR in papillary thyroid carcinomas.ResultsThe significant differences in AMFR expression between papillary thyroid carcinoma and normal thyroid tissues were found in the levels of mRNA (6.296 ± 1.568 vs 7.913 ± 2.351,t=3.681,P=0.001 ) and protein ( 63.1％ vs 34.5 ％,x2=13.722,P ＜ 0.001 ),respectively.Immunohistochemistry analyses showed that the protein expression of AMFR in papillary thyroid carcinomas were significantly correlated with tumour size ( x2=5.209,P ＜ 0.05 ) and lymph node metastasis ( x2=4.32,P ＜ 0.05 ),and it was affected by the factors age ( x2=0.739,P=0.39 ) and gender ( x2=0.064,P=0.81 ).ConclusionsThe increased AMFR in papillary thyroid carcinoma would be a new target for cancer therapy and a new marker for prognosis.

OBJECTIVE:To compare clinical efficacy of Xiaoshi lidan capsules and Ursodeoxycholic acid capsules in the treat-ment of chronic cholesterol gallstone cholecystitis. METHODS:120 patients with chronic cholesterol gallstone cholecystitis in our hospital were selected and divided into observation group and control group according to random number table,with 60 cases in each group. Observation group was given Xiaoshi lidan capsules 1.2 g,po,tid(after the meal);control group was given Ursodeoxycholic acid capsules 250 mg,po,qd(after dinner). Both group received treatment for 6 months. Effective rate of litholysis were observed in 2 groups as well as abdominal pain score [PRI,VAS score,present pain intensity(PPI)],the thickness of gallbladder wall before and after treatment. Clinical efficacy and the occurrence of ADR were compared between 2 groups during treatment. RESULTS:3 pa-tients withdrew from the observation group and 1 patient withdrew from the control group. Before treatment,there was no statistical significance in PRI,VAS score,PPI and the thickness of gallbladder wall between 2 groups(P>0.05). After treatment,above index-es of 2 groups were decreased significantly,while PRI,VAS score and PPI in observation group was significantly lower than in con-trol group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). The effective rate of litholysis (64.91%) in observation group was significantly lower than in control group (79.67%),with statistical significance (P<0.05). Total effective rate of observation group (57.89%) was slightly higher than that of control group(54.24%),without statistical significance(P>0.05). There was no statistical signifi-cance in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Xiaoshi lidan capsules are similar to Ursodeoxycholic acid capsules in clinical efficacy for chronic cholesterol gallstone cholecystitis with good safety,and can be used as optional drug ex-cept for chronic cholesterol gallstone cholecystitis.

Objective To investigate the characteristic of MRS in patients suffered diffuse axonal injury (DAI)in acute and suba-cute stage,and the correlation between MRS changes and the severity of disease.Methods We reported MRI and proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy studies of 3 6 head-inj ured patients in acute and subacute stage.Proton magnetic resonance spectra were ac-quired from the white matter and gray matter of bibateral frontal lobe that on conventional MRI appeared normal by using 2D MRSI at 3.0T MRI .30 volunteers as contronl were studied at the same time.Results In patient group,N-acetylaspartate/creatine ratios were (2.14±0.15)and (1.71±0.08)choline/creatine ratios were(1.35±0.13)and (1.03±0.08)for the white matter and the gray matter,respectivily.The brain N-acetylaspartate/creatine ratio was reduced and the choline/creatine ratio was increased in pa-tient group compared with the controls.The increase in the choline/creatine ratio was significant even in the moderate and severe in-j ured groups.Furthermore,there was a significantly correlation between the severity of head inj ury and the N-acetylaspartate/cho-line ratio,and changes in patients with metabolite ratios of the GCS score had a strong correlation.Conclusion We conclude that DAI patients with normal conventional imaging manifestations of the frontal lobe appear metabolite ratio change,suggesting the existence of local cerebral inj ury,and it has a strong correlation between the prognosis and MRS changes.MRS may provide an useful method that can tell us the severity of the brain inj ury in patients with DAI .

Aim To study the effect of puerarin on reperfusion injury after thrombolytic therapy in acute pulmonary thromboembolism and its mechanism. Methods Thirty-two Japanese rabbits were randomly divided into sham operation group (group S),Thrombolysis-only group(group T), and Puerarin group(group Pur). Acute pulmonary thromboembolism models of rabbits were established with injection of autologous blood clots through the right heart catheters,haemodynamic monitoring was performed by introducing heart catheter through right jugular vein.The activity of plasma superoxide dismutase (SOD) and content of plasma malondialdehyde (MDA) were detected before embolization,2 h after embolization,2 h and 4 h after thrombolysis. At the end,the rabbits were sacrificed and their lung,removed for histopathologic and electron microscopic investigations. This article was aimed to study the quality control of pineapple leaf in order to further develop the appli-cations of pineapple leave as medicinal resources. The tissue structure of pineapple leaf was observed by tissue biop-sy assay. Thin-layer chromatography (TLC) was employed on the qualitative identification of ananasate in the leave. The p-coumaric acid and ananasate were detected with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) assay in the content determination. The results showed that pineapple leaf can be divided into the upper and lower leaf epidermis with stoma under microscope observation. Ananasate of the leave can be indentified clearly by TLC. HPLC method can accurately detect the content of p-coumaric acid and ananasate of pineapple leave. There are different contents of p-coumaric acid and ananasate of pineapple leave in different origins. In Y unnan province, the contents of p-coumaric acid and ananasate of pineapple leave are the highest; while the contents of p-coumaric acid and ananasate in Guangxi province are the lowest. It was concluded that ananasate can be used in the quality identification. The p-coumaric acid and ananasate can be used in the quantitative determination in the better control of the quality of pineapple leaf.

Purpose To study the status of EGFR mutations and the expression of excision repair cross-complementation group 1 ( ER-CC1) and Ki-67 protein in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and to examine the relationship between their expression and clinicopathologic features. Methods EGFR mutations were analyzed with DNA sequencing, and the expression of ERCC1 and Ki-67 protein was examined by immunohistochemistry EnVision. The relationship of EGFR mutations with the expression of ERCC1and Ki-67 and the clinicopathological features were analyzed. Results EGFR mutations were detected in 143 (143/291, 49. 1%) of the 291 specimens. EGFR mutations were found more frequently in women, non-smokers and adenocarcinoma. The difference of EGFR muta-tion rate between the histological subtypes according to the IASLC/ATS/ERS classification of lung adenocarcinoma was significantly ( P=0. 008). The mean tumor diameter was smaller in patients with EGFR mutations than in those with wild-type EGFR (P=0. 020). EGFR mutations were not related to age, lymph node metastasis. However, EGFR mutations were not related to the expression of ER-CC1 and Ki-67 protein (P>0. 050). Conclusions EGFR mutation is closely linked to several clinicopathological factors, such as gender, differentiation, and histological subtype. There is heterogeneity of EGFR mutation in patients with NSCLC. EGFR mutations were not related to the expression of ERCC1 and Ki-67 protein.

Objective To evaluate the effects of rigorous surveillance and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (RPLND) in the treatment of low-risk patients with clinical stage Ⅰ nonseminomatous germ cell testicular tumors (NSGCT) after radical orchiectomy.Methods The data of 71 patients with clinical stage Ⅰ NSGCT were analyzed retrospectively in Hunan Provincial Tumor Hospital,Xiangya Third Hospital of Central South University and Hunan Provincial People's Hospital between Feb,2001 and Apr,2012.Excluding lymphatic and vascular invasion,percentage of embryonal carcinoma＞50％ and increasing tumour markers (AFP/β-HCG) following orchiectomy,46 low-risk patients out of 71 patients with clinical stage Ⅰ NSGCT were selected and divided into rigorous surveillance group (30 cases) and RPLND group (16 cases) according to different therapeutic methods after radical orchiectomy.Univariate analysis was used to confirm variables associated with disease progression,and the disease free survival rates (DFSR) were compared by using Kaplan-Meier analysis.Results Five cases were lost,and 41 cases were followed up for an average of 61 months (range,15-147 months),with 58 months in rigorous surveillance group (range,19-147months) and 65 months in RPLND group (range,15-144 months).The survival rate was 100％ in 2 groups.The DFSR was 89％ (24/27) and 86％ (12/14),respectively,and there was no significant difference between the 2 groups (x2 =0.08,P=0.78).The DFSR was 83％ in patients with small amout of embryonal (percentage of embryonal carcinoma ＜ 50％),and 92％ in patients without embryonal carcinoma,and there was no significant difference between the 2 groups (x2=1.07,P=0.30).Also there was no significant difference between the patients less than 15 years and patients more than 15 years (x2=1.59,P =0.21).Conclusions There is no significant difference in recurrence rate and DFSR between rigorous surveillance group and RPLND group.Low-risk patients with clinical stage Ⅰ NSGCT may achieve satisfactory prognosis with surveillance after radical orchiectomy.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the application of chest-abdomen longitudinal diameter ratio,total lung area and lung longitudinal diameter in different gestational ages by two-dimensional ultrasonography.MethodsFive hundred and ninty-two fetus of normal singleton pregnancy between 18 and 40 weeks were ultrasonic scanned by standard 4-chamber view and fetus torso coronal section.The heart area,thoracic area,bilateral lungs pointed to the corresponding diaphragmatic dome gallery on the top of the vertical distance,diaphragmatic dome iterated top to the bottom of the fetal bladder distance were measured respectively.Related regression analysis was done on fitting total lung area and longitudinal diameter with pregnant increasing.ResultsA normal pregnancy fetal total lung area and lung longitudinal diameter were increased as long as the gestational age.The best-fit regression equations of total lung area was:Y =0.83 X +13.894,R2 =0.914;Lung longitudinal diameter was:Y =0.669 X + 3.124,R2 =0.892.Chest-abdomen longitudinal diameter ratio from 18 to 40 weeks gestation was in constant range:0.44 - 0.59.Conclusions Chest-abdomen longitudinal diameter ratio from 18 to 40 weeks gestation is in constant range.The normal pregnancy fetal total lung area and lung longitudinal diameter were increased as long as the gestational age.These parameters may be useful for the prenatal assessment of lung development.

Objective To explore the characteristics of dipyridamole 201 Tl myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) SPECT in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy. Methods Thirty patients with dilated cardiomyopathy underwent pharmacological stress 201Tl MPI SPECT after intravenous infusion of dipyridamole (0. 56 mg/kg) for 4 min. The early and delayed SPECT images were acquired respectively at 10 and 240 min after 201Tl injection. The images were analyzed and reported by two or three experienced nuclear medicine physicians. Results All patients were found to have abnormal perfusion patterns at delay imaging, however 90.00% (27/30) were also abnormal at early images. Six patients had reverse redistribution. Conclusion Dipyridamole 201Tl MPI SPECT imaging may be of some value for the assessment of patients with dilated cardiomyopathy.

OBJECTIVE: To study surgical techniques and clinical applications of the intranasal endoscopic combined middle meatus and expand prelacrimal recess-maxillary ainus approach for orbital fracture treatment. METHOD: A retrospective clinical analysis of 3 patients whose admitted for orbital floor fractures or medial wall fractures operated by the intranasal endoscopic middle meatus with expand prelacrimal recess-maxillary ainus approach surgical treatment was studied, and the treatment effects and the postoperative complications were analyzed. RESULT: All patients had been followed up for 6 to 12 months. All cases of diplopia symptom were disappeared, enophthalmos were totally corrected, no cases of complication were found. CONCLUSION Endonasal endoscopic combined middle meatus and expand prelacrimal recess-maxillary ainus approach for orbital fracture treatment have great and clear view. This approach with less tissue damage and high therapeutic effect makes the cost lower than other methods and complications will be decreased as well, it has a great advantage in the orbital fracture treatment.
