Objective To study the influence of CRT brightness on image reading. Methods Both physical testing and compared viewing were used in the study. (1) Setting the CRT brightness at high and low grade (the blank brightness of CRT was 112 cd/m 2 and 82 cd/m 2, respectively). (2) 21 films with the density ranging from 0.27 to 2.71 were digitized by a scanner and displayed on the CRT. The brightness of CRT that varied with film density was measured by a bright meter, then the relation chart between CRT brightness and the film density was drawn. (3) Thirteen films on which there were many small and low contrast signals were viewed on CRT by three doctors. The tested data were calculated by statistics (? 2 test, the difference was significantly marked when P 0.05), but the signals viewed in the lung were 87 and 29, and the difference was significantly marked (? 2=53.73, P

Objective To explore the genuineness of Exocarpium Citri Grandis(ECG) from Huazhou city of Guangdong province. Methods We used the method of high performance liquid chromatography to detect the naringin content in ECG from different producing areas of Huazhou city.Random amplified polymorphic DNA analysis was used for the examination of genetic distance, and plasma-atomic emission spectrometry for the detection of soil elemental abundance of 8 elements such as aluminium(Al),kalium(K),calcium(Ca),ferrum(Fe),titanium(Ti),boron(B),magnesium(Mg),and manganese(Ma).The correlation of the above three parameters was analyzed by statistical software SPSS 11.5.Results Ca abundance in the surface soil layer had an obvious effect on the content of naringin, and the difference of Al and K abundance in subsoil layer was correlated with the genetic distance of ECG.Conclusion The genuineness of ECG is probably related with the abundance of phlopopitum in the soil of producing areas of Huazhou city.

A rapid and simple method for the determination of cyanide in blood was developed based on pinhole shell-isolated nanoparticles (pinSHINs)-enhanced Raman spectroscopy and an online lysis-purging and trapping approach. In the online lysis-purging and trapping device, the bound cyanide in blood can be cleaved through sulfuric acid acidification, and transferred into HCN volatile gas, then purged into alkaline solution to form NaCN solution, thus high-efficient liberation and entrapment of cyanide from the methemoglobin-bound form can be achieved. The pinSHINs substrate is quite stable to weaken the gold-dissolution effect caused by cyanide under strong alkaline condition, and therefore the detection window can be prolonged to 1 h comparing with 5 min of AuNPs.A limit of detection down to 10 μg/L and a linear range from 100-2000 μg/L in blood were achieved in this method. This method was further applied to rapid measurement of blood samples of cyanide exposed rats and clinic poisoned patients, which provided a sensitive, selective and reliable way for rapid detection of cyanide poisoning.

Objective To assess the value of pulmonary vascular permeability index in differentiating acute lung injury (ALI) from cardiac pulmonary edema. Methods Critically ill patients with acute pulmonary edema were included from May, 2004 to September, 2008. Patients were divided into two groups, the ALI group and the cardiac pulmonary edema group (C group). Pulmonary vascular permeability index (PVPI) , intrathoracic blood volume (ITBVI) were determined by pulse indicator continuous cardiac output(PiCCO) system. Results ( 1 ) Thirty-four patients were enrolled, 22 cases in ALI group and 12 cases in C group. (2) The PVPI in patients of ALI group (2.7 ± 1.4) was higher than that of C group (1.9 ±0.6 ;P<0.05). EVLWI and ITBVI did not have the significant difference between the two groups (P >0. 05). (3) PVPI was positively correlated with EVLWI(r = 0. 762) , negatively correlated with PaO2/ FiO2(r= -0.478). (4)ARDS was diagnosed in 13 cases, including 8 pulmonary cause(ARDSp) and 5 extra-pulmonary cause ( ARDSexp). PVPI, EVLW/ITBV and EVLWI of patients with ARDSexp were obviously higher than those with ARDSp. Conclusions PVPI may be useful for differentiating the types of pulmonary edema in the critically ill.
