Purpose To detect the expression of Snai2 mRNA in gastric carcinoma and normal gastric mucosa and analyze its significance. Methods Total RNA was extracted with TRIzol from 30 cases of gastric carcinoma and mRNA was transcribed reversely into cDNA.The expression of Snai2 mRNA was examined by real-time PCR; then mRNA probes were prepared, the expression of Snai2 mRNA was detected by in situ hybridization on a tissue array, including normal gastric mucosa (20 cases) and gastric carcinoma (100 cases). Results Real-time PCR data showed they had different expression in different degrees of differentiation of the cancer: the poorer differentiation, the more expression (P<0.05). In situ hybridization results showed the positive rate in the carcinoma (54.2%) was higher than normal tissue (27.8%), with statistically significant difference (P<0.05).There were different positive rate in different degrees of differentiation: the poorer differentiation, the higher positive rate, but it had no statistical significance (P>0.05).Conclusions Snai2 could be a biomarker of malignant degree and disease progression, and used as a useful tool for evaluation of prognosis.

Objective To find out more optimal surgical approach for glioblastoma located in sensofimotor cortex and language area. Methods A respective review of 27 cases of glioblastomas located in sensorimotor and language area were operated, via the transsylvian-opercular approach, ineluding outcomes of microneurosurgery between January 2005 to December 2007. Results Among of 27 cases, tumors in 21 cases were covered by opereular cotex and were totally resected, tumors protruded into sylvian and wrapped around middle cerebral artery in 6 cases. 3 of them were totally removed, others were subtotally. Neurofunction of 26 cases were preserved of one were injuried. Conclusion Transsylvian-opercnlar approach for resection of glioblastomas located in subcortex of sensorimotor and language area is more optimal surgical approach, which not only ensure tumor resection with great degree, but preserve neurofunction well.

Objective:To investigate clinical and histopathological features of mucinous nevi. Methods:Clinical and pathological data were collected from 10 patients with clinically and histopathologically confirmed mucinous nevi in Hospital of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from January 2014 to December 2019, and retrospectively analyzed. Results:All cases developed mucinous nevi in childhood, with an average age of onset being 6.5 years. Of the 10 patients, 7 had lesions on the trunk, among whom 4 had lesions on the back; the remaining 2 had lesions on the limbs, and 1 had generalized lesions on the trunk and limbs. The skin lesions were locally arranged in lines, bands or clusters, and skin-colored, reddish or yellow in color, with the texture varying from soft to hard. Histopathological examination showed that 10 patients presented with disordered arrangement of collagen fiber bundles in the dermis and mucin deposition at varying locations and to different degrees among them, 6 with thickened and red-stained collagen fibers in the deposition area, and the remaining 4 with sparse and decreased collagen; focal liquefaction degeneration of the basal layer was observed in 2 cases, and different amounts of mature adipose tissue in the dermis were seen in 3 cases. Conclusions:Mucinous nevus pathologically manifests as mucin deposition of varying degrees among disorderedly arrangd collagen fiber bundles in the dermis, which is similar to some other diseases, and is easily misdiagnosed. Close combination of clinical and pathological features facilitates confirmed diagnosis.

An explicit illustration of pulmonary delivery processes (PDPs) was a prerequisite for the formulation design and optimization of carrier-based DPIs. However, the current evaluation approaches for DPIs could not provide precise investigation of each PDP separately, or the approaches merely used a simplified and idealized model. In the present study, a novel modular modified Sympatec HELOS (MMSH) was developed to fully investigate the mechanism of each PDP separately in real-time. An inhaler device, artificial throat and pre-separator were separately integrated with a Sympatec HELOS. The dispersion and fluidization, transportation, detachment and deposition processes of pulmonary delivery for model DPIs were explored under different flow rates. Moreover, time-sliced measurements were used to monitor the PDPs in real-time. The Next Generation Impactor (NGI) was applied to determine the aerosolization performance of the model DPIs. The release profiles of the drug particles, drug aggregations and carriers were obtained by MMSH in real-time. Each PDP of the DPIs was analyzed in detail. Moreover, a positive correlation was established between the total release amount of drug particles and the fine particle fraction (FPF) values ( = 0.9898). The innovative MMSH was successfully developed and was capable of illustrating the PDPs and the mechanism of carrier-based DPIs, providing a theoretical basis for the design and optimization of carrier-based DPIs.
