OBJECTIVE:To investigate the absorbability polyvinylidene chloride(PVC) infusion vessel to ciclosporin.METHODS:The concentration of ciclosporin was determined by HPLC after storing in the PVC infusion packages or glass bottle for different period of time and its change was investigated as well.RESULTS:The adsorption rate of PVC infusion vessel to ciclosporin increased time-dependently,with a peak value of 38.66% at 12 h,which was significant as compared with glass infusion bottle at the same time.CONCLUSION:The PVC infusion package has stronger absorbability to ciclosporin, thus its use should be avoided if possible.

Objective To determine the effect of ABCC4 gene silencing on cell proliferation and cell cycle in human pancreatic cancer cell lines PANC1 and BxPC-3.Methods PANC1 and BxPC-3 pancreatic cancer cells were transfected with a lentivirus expressing an ABCCA short hairpin RNA (shRNA).ABCC4 mRNA and protein expression of transfected cells was determined by RT-PCR and Western blot, colony formation ability was measured by colony assay, and cell cycle change was investigated by the flow cytometric analysis. Results Lentivirus expressing an ABCC4 short hairpin RNA (shRNA) was successfully established. After transfection with shRNA lentivirus,ABCC4 mRNA and protein expression were significantly inhibited (0.28 ±0.01 vs 1.00 ±0.03,0.22 ±0.02 vs 1.00 ±0.03,P <0.05).Colony formation ability was significantly decreased (4 vs 65,P <0.05),and cell cycle was significantly blocked at G1 phase [(54.98 ±1.78) % vs (42.93 ± 0.88) %,(68.55 ± 0.75) % vs (54.76 ± 0.29) %].Conclusions ABCC4 gene silencing can significantly inhibit cell proliferation of human pancreatic cancer cell lines PANC1 and BxPC-3,and block the cells at G1 phase.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1983;0(02):-
An evaluation of 16 patients with cervical spondylosis undergoing PCB (a new anterior cervical instrumental system combining an intradiscal cage with an integrated plate,PCB) is presented. Four patients underwent surgery for cervical myelopathy and 12 for cervical radiculopathy. There were 11 males and 5 females. The average age was 46 years (ranging from 31~67 years). The time of follow up was 3~16 months after operation.Fixation at one level was performed in 12 patients, and at two levels in 4. The results revealed that the technique was easy to learn and implement, without intraoperative complications. After surgery no screw backout or device failure was identified.Symptoms improved significantly in 14 patients.Complications in donor site were rare. An external collar support was unnecessary after operation.

To arouse students’autonomous study,a reform was carried out in experimen- tal teaching of preventive medicine. Taking exploratory experiment as a cut-in point, students were free to choose subjects, design blueprint,do spot research and compose papers etc.,which efficiently inspired students’learning interest and exploring spirit, cultivated their creative think-ing and researching ability.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(08):-
All twenty seven patients suffered from Ⅱ grade spondilolisthesis were treated by posterior decompression, fixation with RF system and interbody fusion with TFC. One to three yearsafter operation, pain relief rate was 95%, lumbar fusion ratewas 95%,slip correction was 93.8%, and disc space was increased by 34%. It is concluded that this kind of operation can achieve satisfactory clinical results.

Objective To investigate the effect of nutrition intervention on psychological stress combining with sleep deprivation in rats. Methods Seventy-five male SD rats were randomly divided into five groups:control group, composite factor group, composite factor control group, nutrition group Ⅰ and nutrition group Ⅱ. The rat model of 14d psychological stress combining with 48h sleep deprivation was established by Communication Box and improved small platform methods. Rats in the 2 nutrition groups were gavaged with corresponding nutriment everyday; those in other groups were treated with gavage of physiological saline. Morris water maze place navigation test was employed to train rats and measure the ability of rats' spatial working memory. The antioxygenic potential of rats' blood serum and some nutrients were measured with corresponding kits. Results Compared with the composite factor group, the escape latency of all quadrants shortened significantly (P

Objective To analyze the relationship of the lateral angulation with the incision level after anterior approach operation for thoracolumbar fractures by evaluating the Cobb' s angle at different approach levels. Methods A retrospective study was done on 154 patients with thoracolumbar fractures treated consecutively with anterior operation from May 2004 to January 2008.The preoperative, postoperative and follow-up angle of coronal Cobb and the postoperative angle between screws and endplates on the anteroposterior radiograph were measured.According to the relationship between the injury vertebrae and the incision level, the patients were divided into two groups,ie,incision level ≥2 vertebrae group and incision level ≤ 1 vertebra group. Results All patients were followed up for 6-47 months(mean 37 months),which showed significant postoperative lateral angulation(P < 0.01)especially at follow-up (P > 0.05).The coronal Cobb' s angle showed insignificant difference before operation between two groups but it was increased after operation and during the follow-up(P <0.01).The screws A or B were more parallel to the endplate in two groups(P < 0.01),while the parallel of the screws C or D to the endplate showed no statistical difference(P > 0.05).Conclusions Compared with the operation with incision level ≥2 vertebrae, the operation with incision level ≤ 1 vertebra can more easily induce postoperative lateral angulation and exert a significant impact on implantation orientation of the vertebral screws A and B,which may indirectly lead to postoperative lateral angulation.

Objective To investigate short-term effect of percutaneous discectomy combined with radiofrequency ablation with Disc-FXon contained lumbar disc herniation. Methods 36 patients were reviewed and followed up with Japanese Orthopaedic Association score(JOA score), the Visual Analogue Score (VAS) and Oswestry score for 12 months. Results The scores of JOA score, VAS and Oswestry improvedsignificantly (P<0.01) after operation. Conclusion Percutaneous discectomy combined with radiofrequency ablation with Disc-FXis effective on contained lumbar disc herniation.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the clinical effect of PCB (a new anterior cervical instrumental system combining an intradiscal cage with an integrated plate) in treating traumatic cervical intervertebral disc herniation.
METHODSAnterior decompression and PCB internal fixation were used in 22 patients with traumatic cervical intervertebral disc herniation. They were followed up from 3 to 16 months and analyzed by symptom and image data. Among them, 16 patients underwent fixation at one level and 6 patients at two levels.
RESULTSThis technique did not cause intraoperative complications. After surgery no screw backout or device failure was found. Based on the JOA grade, 20 patients improved clinically and 2 gently because of serious cervical stenosis. The general excellent rate was 90.9%.
CONCLUSIONSPCB internal fixation is stable. Morbidity of donor and acceptor sites is less. No collars are needed after surgery.

OBJECTIVESTo identify the cortical areas engaged during Chinese word processing using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and to examine the reliability and reproducibility of fMRI for localization of functional areas in the human brain.
METHODSFMRI data were collected on 8 young, right-handed, native Chinese speakers during performance of Chinese synonym and homophone judgment tasks on two different clinical MRI systems (1.5 T GE Signa Horizon and 1.5 T Siemens Vision). A cross correlation analysis was used to statistically generate the activation map.
RESULTSBroca's area, Wernicke's area, bilateral extrastriate, and ventral temporal cortex were significantly activated during both the synonym and homophone activities. There was essentially no difference between results acquired on two different MRI systems.
CONCLUSIONSFMRI can be used for localizing cortical areas critical to Chinese language processing in the human brain. The results are reliable and well reproducible across different clinical MRI systems.
