The interaction between water-soluble CdS and gelatin 5n aqueous solution was explored using fluorescence, infrared (IR)and UV-Vis spectra at pH 12.0 and different temperatures. Results show that the formed complex had a strong ability to quench the fluorescence launched from gelatin. The fluorescence quenching data were analvzed according to Lineweave-Burk double-reciprocal equation and the gelatin had reacted with CdS to form a complex. This kind of static fluorescence quenching goes with non-radiation energy transfer happening within single molecule According to Lineweave-Burk equation,K(285 K:1.07×10~4 L/mol;292 K:9 69×10~3 L/mol;299 K:8.06×10~3 L/mol),the formation constants of the compound at different temperatures and the thermodynamic parameters(△H=-14.18 kJ/mol;△G=-21.98/-22.28/-22.36 kJ/mol;△S=27.36/27.74/27.36 J/K·mol) at certain temperatures were obtained, indicating that the binding force between them is mainly the static in nature. The binding locality was an area of 4.09 nm away from tryptophan residue in gelatin based on F(o)rster's non-radiation energy transfer mechanism. The results provide information for exploring the chemical mechanism of interaction between nanoparticle and this kind of biological macromolecule.

Objective: To observe the influence of mild moxibustion by different intervals on the therapeutic effect of the patients with primary hyperlipidemia. Methods: 63 cases of patients were randomly divided into Group A (32 cases) and Group B (31 cases). In both groups, mild moxibustion was applied bilaterally to Zusanli (ST 36). The treatment was given once a day for group A and once every other day for group B. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were summarized after twelve weeks. Results: The two groups are remarkably significant in reducing total cholesterol (TC)(P<0.001), and also remarkably significant in reducing triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterin (LDL-C) and in elevating high density lipoprotein cholesterin (HDL-C) (P<0.05); and not evident in improving apolipotroten (ApoAI), apoliporotein B (ApoB), and lipoprotein a[Lp (a)];however ApoAI showed an obvious tendency to rise, and ApoB and Lp (a) showed an tendency to decrease. There is no statistic significance in comparison between the groups. Conclusion: Mild moxibustion for primary hyperlipidemia can be applied by a plan of one treatment every other day.

In our previous studies, DAZAP2 gene expression was down-regulated in untreated patients of multiple myeloma (MM). For better studying the structure and function of DAZAP2, a full-length cDNA was isolated from mononuclear cells of a normal human bone marrow, sequenced and deposited to Genbank (AY430097). This sequence has an identical ORF (open reading frame) as the NM_014764 from human testis and the D31767 from human cell line KG-1. Phylogenetic analysis and structure prediction reveal that DAZAP2 homologues are highly conserved throughout evolution and share a polyproline region and several potential SH2/SH3 binding sites. DAZAP2 occurs as a single-copy gene with a four-exon organization. We further noticed that the functional DAZAP2 gene is located on Chromosome 12 and its pseudogene gene is on Chromosome 2 with electronic location of human chromosome in Genbank, though no genetic abnormalities of MM have been reported on Chromosome 12. The ORF of human DAZAP2 encodes a 17-kDa protein, which is highly similar to mouse Prtb. The DAZAP2 protein is mainly localized in cytoplasm with a discrete pattern of punctuated distribution. DAZAP2 may associate with carcinogenesis of MM and participate in yet-to-be identified signaling pathways to regulate proliferation and differentiation of plasma cells.

Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis 2011;01(4):258-263
An electrochemical sensor incorporating a signal enhancement for the determination of lead (Ⅱ) ions (Pb2+) was designed on the basis of the thrombin-binding aptamer (TBA) as a molecular recognition element and ionic liquid supported cerium oxide (CeO2) nanoparticles-carbon nanotubes composite modification. The composite comprises nanoparticles CeO2, multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs)and hydrophobic room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL) l-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EM1MBF4). The electrochemical sensors were fabricated by immersing the CeO2-MWNTs-EMIMBF4 modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) into the solution of TBA probe. In the presence of Pb2+, the TBA probe could form stable G-quartet structure by the specific binding interactions between Pb2+ and TBA. The TBA-bound Pb2+ can be electrochemically reduced, which provides a readout signal for quantitative detection of Pb2+. The reduction peak current is linearly related to the concentration of Pb2+ from 1.0 × 10 8 M to 1.0 × 10-5 M with a detection limit of 5 × 109 M. This work demonstrates that the CeO2-MWNTs-EMIMBF4 nanocomposite modified GCE provides a promising platform for immobilizing the TBA probe and enhancing the sensitivity of the DNA-based sensors.
