AIM:To establish a rat hyperlipidemia model for studying the aortic expression of heat shock protein 22 (HSP22), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) and the effect of atorvasta-tin intervention.METHODS:Hyperlipidemia model was established in SD rats.Afterwards, the rats were divided into nor-mal control group, high fat group and high fat+atorvastatin intervention group. The expression of HSP22 and TNF-αin the rat aortas was detected by immunohistochemical assay and the expression of eNOS was assessed by Western blotting.RE-SULTS:No detectable expression of HSP22 and TNF-αin the normal control group was observed. However, the expression of HSP22 and TNF-αwas positive in the high fat group and the atorvastatin intervention group. The mean densities of HSP22 and TNF-αpositive particles were significant lower in the atorvastatin intervention group as compared with high fat group ( both P<0.05) .The expression of eNOS protein in the high fat group and atorvastatin intervention group was significantly lower than that in normal control group (P<0.01).However, no marked difference of eNOS protein expression between high fat group and atorvastatins intervention group was observed.CONCLUSION:The expression of HSP22 and TNF-αin the rat aortas is increased in the hyperlipidemia rat model. This effect can be restored by atorvastatin treatment. The expression of eNOS in the rat aortas is decreased in the hyperlipidemia rat model, but this tendency could not be attenuated by atorvastatin.

Objective To report a retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery for ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) by double renal veins. Methods A 28-year-old male patient with left low back pain for 6 months was diagnosed as left hydronephrosis and UPJO.A ureteral stent had been placed 3 months before and failed to improve hydronephrosis,so the ureteral stent was pulled out.CT scan showed that left UPJ went through the two renal veins, suggesting UPJO.Nephrogram showed that left GFR and right GFR were 35 ml/min and 34 ml/min,respectively.These results indicated mechanical obstruction of left upper urinary tract. The patient underwent retroperitoneal laparoscopic Anderson-Hynes dismembered pyeloplasty. Results The surgical procedure was successful. Two left renal veins were found, and the ventral one was in front of ureter, compressing the ureter. An aberrant renal artery went into left kidney with the ureter.0.5 cm stenosis of ureteropelvic junction was excised, and pyeloplasty was performed.A ureteral stent was placed into the ureter, then the pelvis and the ureter were sew up in front of the ventral renal vein. The surgical time was 240 min,and blood loss was 50 ml.Postoperative hospital stay time was 4 d.During 4 months' follow up,hydronephrosis was attenuated significantly. Conclusion Retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery for UPJO with aberrant two renal vein might be a minimally-invasive and effective procedure.

Objective Through the analysis of the special thromboelastography (TEG) graphics to improve the ability of analysis and identification the TEG and provide more valuable results for clinical practice. Methods This study is a retrospective study.Retrospectively analysis of 15 430 cases of TEG results from People's Liberation Army General Hospital, using the parametrs as reaction time (R),the clotting time (K),the solidification angle (Angle),the maximum amplitude (MA),the percentage of blood clot dissolution (EPL),the rate of 30 minutes clot amplitudereduce (LY30),the coagulation index (CI) and other parameters to analyze the hyperfibrinolysis group, the heparin graphics group, the secondary activation of fibrin group, the platelet function group and the anti-platelet drug monitoring group. Results In the hyperfibrinolysis group, the EPL value,LY30 value and CI value of primary hyperfibrinolysis group was 19.3,19.3 and 0.4 respectively and the secondary hyperthyroidism group was 11.6,11.6 and 3.2 respectively. In the heprin application graphic group,R value of CKH group was shorter than that of CK group (10.9 vs.50.8),R value of CKH group was longer than that of CK group (12.2 vs.15.7).In fiber protein secondary activation graphics groups, the MA value of the first time detection was 35.2,then replacing the channel repetition MA value was 34.7 in true functional fiber protein secondary activation group. For the pseudo fiber protein secondary activation group the first time detection MA value was 73.4,then replacing the channel repetition MA value was 20.0.The MA value of platelet function reduce group and hyperfunction group was 21.6 and 79.2 respectively in platelet function group. In anti-platelet drug monitoring group, the inhibition rate of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) of ADP inhibitor (clopidogrel) ineffective group was 10.9% ; And the inhibition rate of arachidonic acid (AA)of AA metabolic pathway inhibitor (aspirin) ineffective group was 7.5%.Conclusions The correct judgment on the abnormal thromboelastography graphics is helpful to ensure the accuracy of the results andto reduce the occurrence of adverse events.

AIM: To observe the therapeutic effect of hepatocyte growth promoting factor (PHGF) combined with transmetil in treatment of chronic severe hepatitis (CSF). METHODS: 120 patients were divided randomly into two groups: the combined treatment group and the routine group. All the patients received ordinary therapy, and 62 patients, based on the therapy, received PHGF combined with transmetil in the combined treatment group. RESULTS: Compared with the routine treatment group, the levels of total serum bilirubin and prothrombin time were decreased significantly (P

National Journal of Andrology 2014;20(6):518-522
OBJECTIVETo explore the association of 8-hydroxyguanine glycosidase OGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism with semen quality and the risk of male infertility.
METHODSThis case-control study included 620 idiopathic infertile patients and 385 normal fertile controls. We determined their genotypes by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and analyzed their semen quality by computer-aided semen analysis (CASA).
RESULTSThe individuals with OGG1 326 Cys/Cys showed significantly lower sperm motility and concentration ([52.1 +/- 26.7]% and (3.75 +/- 0.91) x 10(6)/ml, ln transformed value) than the Ser/Ser carriers ([59.0 +/- 21.8] % and (4.12 +/- 0.88) x 10(6)/ml, ln transformed value) (P < 0.05). The risk of male infertility increased 69% in the OGG1 326Cys allele carriers as compared with the Ser carriers (OR = 1.69, 95% CI: 1.24 -2.31).
CONCLUSIONOGG1 326 Ser/Cys polymorphism might contribute to the risk of male infertility in the southern Chinese population.
