Objective To investigate the clinical features and the correlated reason of upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Methods Five hundred and twenty-eight patients were divided into two groups according to consumption of NSAIDs in the week previous to the onset of bleeding, 116 cases were in NSAIDs group and 412 cases were in non-NSAIDs group. The clinical data was analysed and compared between two groups. Results There was no significant difference in sex, smoking history, and ulcer history between two groups (P> 0.05). The average age was (57.4 ± 12.1) years old and the infection of Hp was 65.5% (76/116) in NSAIDs group, and they were higher than those in non-NSA1Ds group [(44.6 ± 11.9) years old and 25.0% (103/412)](P < 0.01). More gastric ulcer and complex ulcer was seen in NSAIDs group (P <0.01 or <0.05). Conclusion Recognition about the clinical characteristics of NSAIDs relevance UGIB should be strengthened, and side effect of NSAIDs should be reduced as far as possible.

Objective To compare the clinical effect of drug-eluting stents implantation or pure balloon expansion for the treatment of patients with knee artery lesions. Methods Sixty-eight patients with knee artery lesions were randomly and voluntarily divided into the control group( n=34 )and observation group( n=34 ) . The patients in the control group were given balloon expansion treatment,while in observation group were implanted drug-eluting stents besides balloon expansion. Pathological changes of skin temperature,percutaneous oxygen partial pressure( TcPO2 ),ankle brachial index( ABI),and the recurrence rate of patients before and after treatment for 6 months and 12 months were recorded and compared. Results After 6 months treatment,TcPO2 and ABI in observation group were(35. 4 ± 4. 5)mmHg and 0. 85 ± 0. 04,significantly higher than that in control group(( 28. 2 ± 3. 5 ) mmHg and 0. 62 ± 0. 03 ),and the differences were statistically significant( t=2. 535,2. 185;P﹤0. 05). At 12 months after treatment,skin temperature,TcPO2,ABI in observation group were(32. 4 ± 4. 3)℃,(34. 3 ± 4. 2)mmHg and 0. 80 ± 0. 04,significantly higher than that of the control group ((28. 6 ± 3. 7)℃,(26. 4 ± 3. 6)mmHg,0. 53 ± 0. 02;t =2. 354,2. 648,2. 064;P ﹤0. 05). Meanwhile,the recurrence rate was 5. 9% in observation group,significantly lower than that of the control group( 32. 4%;χ2=8. 463,P﹤0. 05). Conclusion The clinical effect of drug-eluting stents implantation in treatment of patients with knee artery lesions is superior to that of balloon expansion.

Background The establishment of diabetic animal model is a crucial step for the study about diabetic eye diseases. At present,the main modeling method include the injection of streptozotocin and alloxan. But the shortcoming of the former is an expensive price, and that of the later is high death rate of animals. Objective This experiment was to discuss the way which decrease the death of alloxan-injected animal and explore the effects of high blood glucose on the posterior capsular opacification (PCO). Methods Forty clean healthy male New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into 2 groups. 90mg/kg of alloxan were injected via ear vein once in 20 rabbits to create the diabetic animal models,and the equivalent amount of normal saline solution was injected at the same way as normal blood glucose group. The successful models were selected in the animals with the blood glucose level over 12. 0 mmol/L two weeks later, and PCO of lens were graded based on the method of Odrieh under the slit lamp. Extracapsular lens extraction was then performed on the right eye of rabbits in both groups, and the posterior capsules were obtained from these eyes at the 6th, 10th and 14th days after operation. The expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen ( PCNA ) in posterior capsular lens epithelial cell was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The modeling successful rate was 70% after injection of alloxan. The body weight of rabbits in high blood glucose group was significantly lowed and the blood glucose was significantly elevated in comparison with normal blood glucose group ( all P<0. 05). Two weeks after surgery ,2 eyes occurred 2 grade of PCO and only one eye showed the 1 grade of PCO in the high blood glucose group. However, 1 grade of PCO was found in 3 eyes in the normal blood glucose group. Biopsy revealed that PCNA was positively expressed in the cell nuclei of LECs in high blood glucose group rather than the normal blood glucose group from the 10th day after surgery. The proliferation index of PCNA was 0. 86±0. 04 and 0. 25±0. 03 respectively in high blood glucose group and normal blood glucose group, showing a significant difference between them (t = -16. 171 ,P = 0. 000). Conclusion Stable diabetic models of rabbits can be created by intravenous injection of 90 mg/kg alloxan. High blood glucose level is one of the important factors for the development of PCO.

Pure culture of Phlebopus portentosus was inoculated in the roots of coffee tree. The results indi-cated that the young fruit bodies would come out around the rhizomes of host tree after inoculation in 30 to 90 days, single or cluster, 3 to 4 days for mature, weight 20.0 g to 62.0 g. Brown rhizomorph and hyphae can be seen on the seedlings`rhizome, main root and side root while nothing is on the tip of the root.It was found that rhizomorph on the surface of roots would die after inoculation in 90 days in pot.

Objective To investigate the role of polymorphisms of scavenger receptor class B gene CD36 in affecting the progress of subclinical atherosclerosis (AS) and the associated factors affecting the expression of CD36 on the surface of peripheral blood monouclear cells (PBMC) and the association between CD36 expression and progress of subclinical AS in type 2 diabetic patients.Methods CD36 polymorphisms (CD36-rs1984112, CD36-T620C) were typed by PCR-RFLP in 470 cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus and 220 non-diabetic controls of Hans in Hunan area.The genotypes and allele frequencies were compared between cases and controls.Fluorescence intensity of CD36 on the surface of PBMC was analyzed in 102 cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus by flow cytometry and was compared between the patients without AS and the patients with subclinical AS.Multiple linear regression was applied to evaluate the relevant factors contributing to CD36 expression.Results The genotypes and allele frequencies of CD36-rs1984112 in type 2 diabetes mellitus were not significantly different between cases and controls (P＞0.05), either did CD36-T620C (P＞0.05).The mean florescence intensity (MFI) of CD36 in type 2 diabetics with subclinical AS was higher than that without AS (1 382±659 vs 1 173±340, P＜0.05).Factors affecting the CD36 expression were: age (P=0.005), gender (P=0.021), systolic blood pressure (SBP) (P=0.027), standardized coefficients Beta was 0.28, 0.31 and -0.21, respectively.Age contributed to the CD36 expression level in males (P=0.002) and diastolic blood pressure in females (P=0.001) respectively.Conclusion CD36-rs1984112 and T620C seem not to be a functional polymorphism sites in Hans of Hunan, southern China.CD36 expression level is higher in type 2 diabetics with subclinical AS in contrast with those without AS.CD36 expression on PBMC surface is higher in aged males with lower SBP.

Objective To explore the relationship between serum homocysteine (Hcy) level before coronary angiography(CAG) and contrast induced nephropathy (CIN) after CAG.Methods We included 2264 cases of suspected coronary heart disease from May 2013 to May 2016 and all patients received CAG examination.According to whether CIN has developed or not after CAG, the patients were divided into the non-CIN group (n=2162) and the CIN group (n=102).We analyzed and compared the clinical baseline data, serum Hcy and creatinine (Cr) levels and the estimated glomerular filtration rate between the 2 groups eGFR.Results Patients in the non-CIN group were younger and with less comorbidities of diabetes and chronic kidney disease (all P<0.05).The volume of contrast media consumed in the non-CIN group was less than the CIN group [(122±21)ml vs.(147±24)ml, P=0.012).Hcy level in the non-CIN group (12.81±6.71) μmol/L was lower than that in the CIN group (21.74±11.9)μmol/L before CAG (P<0.05).No significant differences in serum Cr level and eGFR before CAG (P>0.05).At 72 hours after CAG, Cr level of the non-CIN group (69.34±19.54 μmol/L) was lower than that of the CIN group (87.34±21.38) μmol/L (P<0.05).eGFR was higher in the non-CIN group (79.34±19.54)ml/min than that in the CIN group (67.34±21.38)ml/min (P<0.05).Linear regression analysis showed that Hcy level before CAG were positively correlated with Cr level after CAG (r=0.547,P<0.01) and negatively correlated with eGFR after CAG (r=-0.271,P<0.01).Conclusions Hcy level before CAG can be used as one of an effective parameter to predict CIN.
