ObjectiveTo observe the effect of Indapamide on the rehabilitation of cardiac function in patients with primary hypertension disease.Methods56 patients with primary hypertension disease were randomly divided into the Indapamide group and Hydrochlorothiazide group with 28 cases in each group, and treated with Indapamide and Hydrochlorothiazide respectively assisted with conventional non-drug treatment such as dietetic and weight control. The cardiac functions of patients in two groups were examined with echocardiography before and two months after treatment.ResultsAfter treatment, the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) raised and relative wall thickness (RWT) declined in patients of two groups, but the effect of the Indapamide group was better than that of the Hydrochlorothiazide group ( P<0.05).ConclusionThe effect of Indapamide on cardiac function and structure is better than Hydrochlorothiazide.

AIM:To investigate the effects of aminophylline used early in resuscitation on achievement ratio of resuscitation,the concentrations of plasma norepinephrine(NE),adenosine and nitric oxide(NO),and the levels of cardiac tissue endothelin-1(ET-1)and adenosine in rats with sudden cardiac arrest.METHODS:Sixty SD rats were randomly divided into three groups:operated control(group A),epinephrine treatment(group B),and epinephrine plus aminophylline treatment(group C).Each group had 20 rats.The concentrations of plasma NE,adenosine and NO,and the levels of cardiac tissue ET-1 and adenosine were examined in group A and 30 min after survived in group B and group C.RESULTS:The duration of circulation recovered in group C was less than that in group B,significantly(P0.05).The concentrations of plasma adenosine and NE,and the levels of cardiac tissue ET-1 and adenosine in group B and group C were higher than those in group A significantly(P

This study investigated the effect of etoposide, an anticancer chemotherapy drug, on B7-H1 expression in retinoblastoma (Rb) cells and the role of miR-513a-5p in the process. Rb cells were divided into control and etoposide groups. In the etoposide group, cells were treated with etoposide at different concentrations (2.5, 5, 10, 20 and 40 μg/mL) for 24 h. Those given no treatment of etopside served as controls. Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), fluorescence quantitative PCR and flow cytometry were performed to measure the mRNA and protein expression of B7-H1 in Rb cells. The mRNA expression of miR-513a-5p in Rb cells before and after etoposide treatment was also detected by fluorescence quantitative PCR. The miR-513a-5p mimics and the miR-513a-5p inhibitor were transfected into Rb cells separately, and fluorescence quantitative PCR and flow cytometry were used to detect the effect of the miR-513a-5p mimics or inhibitor on B7-H1 expression. TargetScan5.2 was employed to predict the miR-513a-5p binding sites in the 3'-untranslated region of B7-H1 mRNA. Luciferase reporter plasmids carrying this site were prepared and transfected into Rb cells and luciferase activity analyzed. The results showed that etoposide stimulated the mRNA and protein expression of B7-H1 in Rb cells, which reached a maximal level after treatment with 5 μg/mL etoposide (P<0.05). However, miR-513a-5p expression was decreased in Rb cells after etoposide treatment. When the miR-513a-5p inhibitor was added, B7-H1 expression was increased with the concentration of the miR-513a-5p inhibitor (P<0.05). Moreover, B7-H1 expression was decreased gradually with the concentration of the miR-513a-5p mimics increased (P<0.01). Additionally, the miR-513a-5p mimics were found to inhibit the luciferase activity. It was concluded that etoposide can promote B7-H1 expression in Rb cells, which may be associated with chemoresistance. The promoting effect of etoposide on B7-H1 expression can be reversed by miR-513a-5p mimics. MiR-513a-5p inhibits the mRNA and protein expression of B7-H1 via binding to the 3'-UTR of B7-H1 mRNA.

ObjectiveTo study the effects of early rehabilitation on symptom, range of motion (ROM) and motor function of upper extremity of patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke.Methods47 patients were divided into two groups,early rehabilitation group and non-early rehabilitation group.Two groups were treated with comprehensive rehabilitation. The passive ROM, the pain and motor function of affected limb was assessed by Fugl-Meyer Assessment.The evalution was done in pre-treatment and post-treatment respectively. Results1.The passive ROM decreased and the pain of affected limb of the early rehabilitation group were less than the non-early rehabilitation gronp when the shoulder-hand syndrome occour.2.After comprehensive rehabilitation treatment,their clinical symptom ROM and motor function of upper extremity impoved significantly in patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke( P<0.05).The early rehabilitation treatment has better effects. Conclusions The early rehabilitation treatment could decrease the degree of their passive ROM decrease and the pain of affected limb in patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke,and the patients who accepted earlyrehabilitation seemed easly to improve by comprehensive treatment.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Jianpi Yangzheng Xiaozheng Recipe (JYXR) on the tumor inhibition rate of subcutaneous transplanted tumor gastric cancer cell line MGC-803 in BALB/c nude mice, and to study its molecular mechanism of apoptosis and autophagy.

METHODSGastric cancer cell line MGC-803 was subcutaneously inoculated to nude mice for preparing transplanted gastric cancer models. Totally 32 BALB/c nude mice were randomly divided into 4 groups according to random digit table, i.e., the negative control group, the positive control group, the high dose JYXR group, the low dose JYXR group, 8 in each group. Normal saline was administered to mice in the negative control group by gastrogavage. 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu) at 2. 5 mg/kg was administered to mice in the positive control group by gastrogavage. JYXR at 85 and 43 g/kg was administered to mice in the high dose JYXR group and the low dose JYXR group by gastrogavage, once per day for 10 successive days. The effect of JYXR on the tumor inhibition rate of subcutaneous transplanted tumor was observed. Effects of JYXR on gene expression levels of Bax, Bcl-2, Fas, Cyclin D1, Cyclin D2, and Cyclin D3 in transplanted tumor were observed by real-time PCR. Effects of JYXR on protein expression levels of Procaspase-3, Procaspase-8, Procaspase-9, cleaved-PARP, Beclin-1, and LC3B were detected using Western blot.

RESULTS(1) Compared with the negative control group, the tumor weight was obviously reduced in the rest three groups (P <0. 05). The tumor weight was higher in the high dose JYXR group and the low dose JYXR group than in the positive control group (P <0. 05). (2) Results of RT-PCR indicated that, compared with the negative control group, expression levels of Bax were up-regulated, but expression levels of Bcl-2, Cyclin D1, Cyclin D2, and Cyclin D3 were down-regulated in the positive control group and JYXR groups (P <0. 05). The expression level of Fas was up-regulated in the positive control group and the high dose JYXR group (P <0. 05). Compared with the positive control group, expression levels of Fas, and Bax were all down-regulated, but expression levels of Bcl-2, Cyclin D2, and Cyclin D3 were all up-regulated in the high dose JYXR group and the low dose JYXR group (all P <0. 05). The expression level of Cyclin D1 was down-regulated in the high dose JYXR group, but it was up-regulated in the low dose JYXR group ( both P <0. 05). (3) Results of Western blot showed, compared with the negative control group, expression levels of Procaspase-3, Procaspase-8, and Procaspase-9 were down-regulated, but expression levels of cleaved-PARP, Beclin-1, and LC3B II were up-regulated in the high dose JYXR group and the low dose JYXR group (all P <0.05). Compared with the negative control group, expression levels of Procaspase-3, Procaspase-8, Procaspase-9, and LC3B II were down-regulated, but expression levels of cleaved-PARP, Beclin-1, and LC3B I were up-regulated in the positive control group (all P <0. 05).

CONCLUSIONSJYXR showed significant inhibition on subcutaneous transplanted tumor gastric cancer cell line MGC-803 in BALB/c nude mice. Its mechanism might be associated with activating apoptosis and autophagy correlated factors.

AIM: To investigate the incidence of trachoma in children aged 1 to 9y in Hainan Province and determine high-risk trachoma endemic and non-endemic areas in Hainan, and thus provide evidence for developing trachoma control and prevention therapy.METHODS:The areas of investigation were chosen on the basis of past literatures, expert interviews and survey on the spot.In 2013, Hainan Provincial Office of Blindness Prevention carried out the survey in 7 counties including Dongfang City, Wuzhishan City, Ledong County, Baisha County, Baoting County, Lingao County and Changjiang County.In these districts, 356 pupils including 192 boys and 164 girls were examined, their age ranging from 1 to 9 and their average age being 7 years old.The targeted students received the trachoma rapid assessment by the adoption of simplified trachoma classification system which was recommended by the World Health Organization.RESULTS: No case of active trachoma was found among the 356 students.CONCLUSION:The prevalence rate of trachoma in children under 9 years is less than 5% in Hainan Province.Active trachoma is not a public health issue in Hainan Province.

Objective To compare the effect of cimetidine associated with bletilla striata,rhubarb on peptic ulcer,cushingulcer,acute erosive gastritis,bleeding of esophagus and gastric funds varicosis of cirrhotic portal hyper- tension and gastri cancer.Methods 136 patients with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage were randomly divided into 2 groups.The treated group(n=69)was given cimitidine associated with bletilla striata,rhubarb and the control group(n=67)was given cimitidine only.The effects of hemostasis in 2 groups were observed.Results The effect of hemostasis in the treated group was better than that in the control group on peptic ulcer,cushingulcer,acute ero- sive gastritis and gastric cancer(P＜0.05).There were no difference between 2 groups about bleeding of esophagus and gastric funds varicosis of cirrhotic portal hypertension(P＞0.05).Conclusion The effect of hemostasis on up- per gastrointestinal hemorrhage treated by integrated traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine might achieve better on cushingulcer,acute erosive gastritis,peptic ulcer and gastri cancer.It has less adverse effect and more safety.

OBJECTIVETo explore the clinical outcomes of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) and percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) in treating osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF).

METHODSFrom January 2007 to February 2010, the data of 40 patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture underwent treatment were retrospectively analyzed. Of them,20 patients were treated with PVP (PVP group), there were 8 males and 12 females with an average age of (66.37 +/- 2.34) years old (54 to 81); 20 patients were treated with PKP (PKP group), there were 11 males and 9 females with an average of (65.12 +/- 3.21) years old (56 to 79). Postoperative at 1 week, 12 weeks, 1 year, pain and daily life function were respectively assessed by visual analogue scale (VAS) and Barthel index (BI); and anterior height of responsibility vertebra, Cobb angle were measured by X-rays.

RESULTSIn PVP group, 1 case complicated with bone cement leakage without clinical symptoms and no operation to treat. No postoperative infection and deep vein thrombosis were found between two groups. All patients were followed up more than 1 year, pain and daily life function has obviously improved than preoperative (P < 0.01); and there was no significant difference on 1 week, 12 weeks, 1 year after operation (P > 0.05); there was no significant difference between two groups (P > 0.05). In PVP group, there was no significant difference in anterior height of responsibility vertebra, Cobb angle before and after operation;and in PKP group, postoperative data has obviously improved than preoperative (P < 0.01), but there was no significant difference postoperative at 1 week, 12 weeks, 1 year (P > 0.05); there was no significant difference between two groups at 1 week, 12 weeks, 1 year after operation.

CONCLUSIONBoth the methods can obviously relieve pain and completely or partly recover daily life function in treating OVCF. But PKP has advantages of recovery of anterior height of responsibility vertebra and correction of Cobb angle, especially for serious compression.

Objective To investigate the management of difficult recipient vessel preparation in microsurgical reconstruction for oral and maxillofacial defects with free flaps and to assess the clinical outcome.Methods A total number of 739 patients with oral and maxillofacial defects underwent consecutive free flap reconstruction with 761 free flaps from May,2012 to May,2015.There were 37 patients who could not find or lack of proper recipient vessels for microvascular anastomosis during operation.Among them,22 were recurrent oral cancer after tumor ablation,10 of them undrewent post-operative radiotherapy;5 were second primary oral cancer,7 diagnosed with osteoradionecrosis,and 3 suffered from oral and maxillofacial defect and deformity caused by trauma or inflammation.Forty free flaps including 23 anterolateral thigh flaps (ALT),10 fibular flaps and 7 radial forearm flaps were harvested.Methods and techniques used during the operation,instant patency rate after anastomosis,the overall survival rate of free flaps,and post-operative complications were recorded.Results Ninety-one anastomoses were performed between 87 pairs of vessels in 37 patients.Fifty recepient vessels were located on ipsilateral side of neck,and the most frequently used recipient vessels were those preserved or not being damaged in former operation and radiation,former transferred free flap vascular pedicles and residual ends of the ligated vessels.Thirty-seven recepient vessels were found on the contralateral side of neck.Thirty-one cases of long-pedicle flap harvesting,2 cases of vein and artery grafting,4 cases of vessel transposition,5 cases of phleboplasties,9 cases of end-to-side anastomoses,and 1 case of flow-through technique were applied in recipient vessels preparation alone or in combination.The patency rate of anastomosis during operation was 100％ and the overall survival rate of free flaps was 97.5％.Conclusion Recurrent oral cancer after tumor ablation,second primary oral cancer,osteoradionecrosis and deformity caused by trauma and inflammation are the main reasons of unsuitable recipient vessel conditions in microsurgical reconstruction for oral and maxillofacial defects.Methods including long-pedicle flap harvesting,venous grafting,vessel transposition,phleboplasty,end-to-side anastomosis and flow-through technique applied alone or in combination are still reliable choices for management of neck difficult recipient vessel preparation and anastomosis.

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of radiofrequency ablation (RF) combined with digital subtraction angiography (DSA)-guided percutaneous ethanol injection sclerotherapy in the management of high-return flow venous malformation (VM).Methods Forty-one patients,who were diagnosed as high-return flow VM with clinical and radiographic evidence,were divided into the observation group (n=19) and the control group (n=22) using a random number table.All high-return flow VM patients received DSA-guided percutaneous ethanol injection sclerotherapy while the patients in observation group were given radiofrequency ablation.The clinical effect,treatment times and adverse effect of the two groups were analyzed.Results The effectiveness of the observation group was significantly higher than those of the control group [94.7％ (18/19) vs 81.8％ (18/22)].The facial paralysis occurred in three patients (13.6％) after ethanol injection in the control group,while the observation group had no facial nerve injury after treatment.The patients in observation group had significantly fewer numbers of ethanol injection.Conclusions RF can improve the efficacy of high-return flow VM and reduce the number of ethanol injection.The scheme is safe and effective.
