Objective To observe pain and ADL change in patients with osteoporotic vertebral fracture trea- ted by percutaneous kyphoplasty.Methods Percutaneous kyphoplasty were performed in 14 patients with thoracic and lumbar vertebral compression fracture resulted from osteoporosis.All patients were evaluated with regard to pain index and Barthel index before and after operation.Results All the patients'pain were significantly relieved,their score with Barthel index was markedly improved.Conclusion Percutaneous kyphoplasty is a kind of good tech- nique to treat patient with thoracic and lumbar compression fractures resulted from osteoporosis.

As a special chaperone,?- SYN stimulates the proliferation and metastasis of tumor cells through interacting with estrogen receptor and (or) BubR1. Meanwhile, it is also detectable in the serum or urine from tumor patients, which indicates that?- SYN could be potential as a tumor marker for diagnosis and prognosis.

Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) are a kind of pluripotent stem cells derived from bone marrows, which can not only support hematopoiesis, but also have capabilities of multidifferentiation, high-proliferation and self-renewing. They have become one of hotspots in stem cell studies. Studies on in vitro intervention with BMSCs with TCMs have made remarkable progress in recent years. According to the findings, some traditional Chinese medicines can promote proliferation of BMSCs, some can inhibit the apoptosis of BMSCs, while others can induce BMSCs to differentiate into multiple cell types, such as osteoblast. Furthermore, some studies also involved relevant action mechanisms. The authors summarized the advance in relevant studies by reference to relevant literatures of this field.

Objective To explore the related risk factors for bypass graft occlusion in patients within 1 year after coronary artery bypass grafting,in order to provide the basis for the prevention of postoperative bypass graft occlusion.Methods Clinical data of 197 cases treated with coronary artery bypass grafting were collected,and the incidence rate of bypass graft occlusion and its related risk factors were analyzed.Results Graft occlusion occurred in 28 (14.2％) of 197 patients.The incidence rate of bypass graft occlusion were much higher in patients with BMI ≥24 kg/m2,smoking,hypertension,hyperlipemia,diabetes,peripheral vascular diseases and cerebrovascular disease than in patients with BMI ＜24 kg/m2,non-smoking,patients without hypertension,hyperlipemia,diabetes,peripheral vascular diseases or cerebrovascular disease (20.0％ vs.9.8％,22.4％ vs.10.8％,21.2％ vs.3.8％,31.1％ vs.9.2％,23.4％ vs.9.8％,25.5％ vs.10.7％,26.3％ vs.11.3％,x2 =4.106,4.534,11.735,13.658,6.615,6.486,5.656,respectively,P=0.043,0.033,0.001,＜0.001,0.010,0.011,0.017).Smoking,diabetes,hyperlipidemia,peripheral vascular diseases and cerebrovascular disease were the independent risk factors for bypass graft occlusion.Conclusions Many risk factors are related with short-term postoperative bypass graft occlusion in patients with coronary artery bypass grafting.The corresponding control measures should be conducted to decrease the risk of postoperative bypass graft occlusion,aiming directly at the risk factors,especially the independent risk factors.

Background Selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) is a safe and effective therapy to the treatment of primary open angle glaucoma (POAG),and the clinical application is approved by American FDA.However,the relevant researching outcomes from several single-center study are in dispute owing to non-uniform approach in China.A muhicenter clinical trial is need to verify the effectiveness of SLT for Chinese POAG.Objective This study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of SLT in Chinese POAG patients.Methods A prospective,multicenter and self-controlled clinical trail was designed.Sixty-two eyes of 62 POAG patients with the age of ≥ 18 years were enrolled.Frequency SLT was performed around 360° angle using Lumenis Selecta DuetTM or Lumenis Selecta Ⅱ laser instrument,with the 100 non-overlapping spots,3 ns preset time,400 μm size of laser spot and 0.6 mJ energy.The operated eyes were followed-up for 6 months.The curative effects were checked including intraocular pressure (IOP),IOP-lowing value,number and percentage of IOP-lowing 20％ and 30％.The therapyrelated complications were recorded including the number of conjunctival congestion and cloudy of the anterior chamber.Results The preoperative IOP was (25.7±2.6) mmHg in the 62 eyes.The IOP was significantly lowed 1 day,2 weeks,4 weeks,3 months and 6 months after SLT in comparison with preoperative IOP (all at P＜0.001) with the lowest value of (16.5±4.5)mmHg in postoperative day 1.IOP was stable from 4 weeks to 6 months after operation.The mean lowing-value of IOP was 5.3-9.2 mmHg from 1 day through 6 months after SLT.The percentage of eyes 20％ drop in lOP was 83.9％,and that of 30％ drop was 58.1％ in postoperative day 1.In 6 months after SLT,percentages of eyes 20％ and 30％ drop in IOP were 56.5％ and 27.4％,respectively.Conclusions SLT is a safe and effective method of lowing IOP for POAG eyes in Chinese population.

Objective To investigate the safety and obtain parameters of microeoagulation of dorsal root entry zone (DREZ) of cervical cord with bipolar foreps on animal model,and provide histological base for clinical application of treatment of brachial plexus avulsiol pain using microcoagulation of dorsal root entry zone.Methods On the base of swine's weight and spinal cord size in similar to human being,it was chosen to be experimental animal.The right DREZs of cervical cord were microcoagulated with bipolar forceps.The swines were fed in normal way.Their activities were observed.The mass change of the cervical cord segment were observed after 3 weeks and the cervical cord segment was fixed with 10% fromalin,paraffin sliced,HE dying.Coagulating space,depth and width were measured under microsope.The coagulating parameter were adjusted according to measuring outcome in order to achieving a most avaliable parameter.Results All post-op swine survived.When the microcogulation were made with bipolar forceps adopted following parame- ters:The distance of between the polar was 2.0 mm;The diameter of polar was 0.3 mm.The inserting depth 2 mm,the coagulated power 18 watt,the coagulated time was 2 second,then the width of lesions of DREZ in cross section was 1.15 mm and the depth of lesions was 3.10 mm,which was consistent with the area of hu- man DREZ of cervical cord.Conclusion The experiment on swine suggested,microcoagulation of DREZ by bipolar forceps is safe and no mortal complications when the testified parameters are adoped,and can achieve the area of DREZ of cervical cord in human.

Objective:To investigate the polymorphism of HLA-DQA1 genes in Jing nationality of Central Vietnam.Methods:Applied PCR-SSP tecnique to determine the polymorphism of the HLA-DQA1 alleles of 105 healthy children and youth,unrelated individuals in Central of Vietnam.Results:10 HLA-DQA1 alleles were detected of which DQA1*0104 were the most common allele with frequency of 21.3% and lowest frequency is DQA1*0601.Conclusion:The results indicate that HLA-DQA1 alleles polymorphism of Jing nationality in Central Vietnam is different from the other Chinese. Objective To explore the expression of c-Fos protein and character of mossy fiber sprouting(MFS) in hippocampus of rat with febrile seizures(FS).Methods Thirty-six 21-day-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into FS group,febrile control(FG) group and normal control(NG) group.FS was established by hyperthermal bath.Immune histochemistry and(Timm′s) staining were used to examine the expression of c-Fos protein in CA1 region and MFS in CA3 region of hippocampus.Results Excessive expression of c-Fos protein presented in the hippocampal CA1 region of FS group.The surface area percentage of c-Fos protein of FS group[(2.26?0.23)%] was higher than that of FG group[(1.08?0.19)%] and NG group[(0.71?0.14)%],there were significant difference between FS group and the other two groups(?~2=10.48 P

Objective To assess the various features of Budd-Chiari syndrome(BCS)on three- dimensional contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography(3D CE MRA)and to evaluate the potential value of this new technique.Methods Thirty-three patients with BCS underwent 3D CE MRA examination. In 23 cases,BCS was secondary to hepatocellular carcinoma(21 patients)or right adrenal carcinoma (1 patient)or thrombophlebitis(1 patient).Ten patients had primary BCS.The patency of the hepatic veins,inferior vena cava(IVC)and portal veins were assessed.The presence of intra-and extrahepatic collaterals,liver parenchymal abnormalities and porto-systemic varices were evaluated.The diagnosis on 3D CE MRA was correlated with that on inferior vena cavography and right hepatic venography,which were available in 10 and 2 cases respectively.Results Various features of BCS were displayed on 3D CE MRA. Hepatic venous findings included tumor thrombosis(19 patients),tumor compression(2 patients), nonvisualization(4 patients)and focal stenosis(4 patients)of the hepatic veins.IVC findings were severe stenosis or occlusion(10 cases),tumor direct invasion(2 cases),tumor thrombosis(3 cases), thrombophlebitis(1 case)and web formation(3 cases).Intrahepatic collaterals were demonstrated in 9 patients including 2 with "spider web" sign.Detected extrahepatic collaterals included dilated azygos and hemiazygos veins(13 cases)and left renal-inferior phrenic-pericardiophrenic collaterals(2 cases).The occlusion of the left portal vein and the presence of porto-systemic varices were depicted in 2 and 10 patients respectively.Liver parenchymal abnormalities identified by 3D CE MRA consisted of caudate lobe enlargement(7 cases),heterogenous enhancement(18 cases)and associated tumors(18 cases). Compared with inferior vena cavography and hepatic venography,the accuracy of 3D CE MRA in the diagnosis of IVC obstruction or hepatic venous stenosis was 100%.Conclusion 3D CE MRA can display various features of BCS and has the potential to provide an accurate diagnosis.
