Background Selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) is a safe and effective therapy to the treatment of primary open angle glaucoma (POAG),and the clinical application is approved by American FDA.However,the relevant researching outcomes from several single-center study are in dispute owing to non-uniform approach in China.A muhicenter clinical trial is need to verify the effectiveness of SLT for Chinese POAG.Objective This study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of SLT in Chinese POAG patients.Methods A prospective,multicenter and self-controlled clinical trail was designed.Sixty-two eyes of 62 POAG patients with the age of ≥ 18 years were enrolled.Frequency SLT was performed around 360° angle using Lumenis Selecta DuetTM or Lumenis Selecta Ⅱ laser instrument,with the 100 non-overlapping spots,3 ns preset time,400 μm size of laser spot and 0.6 mJ energy.The operated eyes were followed-up for 6 months.The curative effects were checked including intraocular pressure (IOP),IOP-lowing value,number and percentage of IOP-lowing 20％ and 30％.The therapyrelated complications were recorded including the number of conjunctival congestion and cloudy of the anterior chamber.Results The preoperative IOP was (25.7±2.6) mmHg in the 62 eyes.The IOP was significantly lowed 1 day,2 weeks,4 weeks,3 months and 6 months after SLT in comparison with preoperative IOP (all at P＜0.001) with the lowest value of (16.5±4.5)mmHg in postoperative day 1.IOP was stable from 4 weeks to 6 months after operation.The mean lowing-value of IOP was 5.3-9.2 mmHg from 1 day through 6 months after SLT.The percentage of eyes 20％ drop in lOP was 83.9％,and that of 30％ drop was 58.1％ in postoperative day 1.In 6 months after SLT,percentages of eyes 20％ and 30％ drop in IOP were 56.5％ and 27.4％,respectively.Conclusions SLT is a safe and effective method of lowing IOP for POAG eyes in Chinese population.

Objective To study the role of glucocorticoid (GC) in treating patients with cyto- megalovirus (CMV) pneumonia following renal transplantation.Methods There were 75 cases CMV pneumonia following renal transplantation during one month (3 cases),2-6 months (64 cases) and more than 6 months (8 cases).All patients were subjected to the comprehensive treatments including anti-virus therapy.In 47 cases,GC was given (GC group),and in the rest 28 cases,GC was not administered (non-GC group).Results In GC group,40 cases (85.1%) were cured and there were 7 deaths (14.9%).In non-GC group,17 cases (60.7%) were cured and there were 11 deaths (39.3%).There was significant difference between two groups (P

OBJECTIVETo explore the inhibitory effect of cinnamaldehyde on invasion capacities of human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-435S and its relation with regulating the expression of miR-27a.

METHODSThe effect of cinnamaldehyde on invasive capacities of MDA-MB-435S was measured by Transwell matrigel invasion assay. The effect of miR-27a expression on invasive capabilities of MDA-MB-435S, the intervention of cinnamaldehyde in the miR-27a expression, and its relation with its effect on invasive capabilities were defected with liposome 2000 transinfection miRNA27a mimics/inhibitors, real time-polymerase chain reaction (Real-time PCR), and Transwell chamber model.

RESULTSCompared with the control group, the number of cells passing through the transwell chamber was more significantly reduced after treated by cinnamaldehyde for 12 h (P < 0.05). The miR-27a expression was 962.07 times and 40% of that of the control group after transinfected by miR-27a mimics and miR-27a inhibitors. After transinfected by miR-27a inhibitors, the number of cells passing through the transwell chamber was more significantly reduced (P < 0.05). The miR-27a expression of MDA-MB-435S was down-regulated by 12-h treatment of cinnamaldehyde (2(-deltaCt) = 0.56, 0.18, 0.18, respectively). The number of miR-27a mimics transinfection pretreated MDA-MB-435S cells passing through the transwell chamber increased more obviously than the number of un-pretreated MDA-MB-435S cells in the control group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONSCinnamaldehyde could inhibit invasive capabilities of human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-435S. The over-expression of miR-27a played an important role in the invasive capability of MDA-MB-435S. The inhibition of cinnamaldehyde on invasive capabilities of MDA-MB-435S cells was correlated with down-regulating the expression of miR-27a.

Moreover, being conscientious and meticulous, WU Xiao-ren was always strict with his followers. He set up examples for his students with both precept and practice, and made great contribution to the inheritance of both acupuncture theory and practice.

Studying effects of 50 Hz sinusoidal electromagnetic fields (SEMFs) with different intensities on peak bone mass (PBM) of rats may provide a theoretical basis for application of electromagnetic clinical field. 30 female SD rats, 6 weeks of age, were randomly divided into three groups: the control group, 0.1 mT electromagnetic field group (EMFs) and 0.6 mT EMFs. The EMFs groups were treated for 3 h/day. After 8 weeks, we examined their bone mineral densities (BMD) , measured their bone biomechanical properties, and made serum levels of osteocalcin (OC), tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b (TRACP 5b), and histomorphometry. It was found that the BMD (P < 0.01), maximum mechanical load (P < 0.01) in the 0.1 mT group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and Yield strength (P < 0.05), the analyses of serum bone turnover markers and histomorphometric parameters were better than those in the control group (P < 0.05). However, the 0.6 mT group did not have significantly difference comparing with that in the control group. This study proved that 50 Hz 0.1 mT SEMFs can increased BMD, bone strength, and bone tissue microstructure. Therefore, 50 Hz 0.1 mT SEMFs can improve peak bone mass of rats.

A HPLC method was established to determine the contents of the five anthraquinones and rhaponticin in the different varieties of Rhei Radix et Rhizoma. The difference existed in different varieties. The results showed that rhein and rhaponticin were marker substances which could be used to distinguish palm leaf groups rhubarb and wave leaf groups rhubarb. Authentic rhubarb didn't contain rhaponticin. Falsify rhubarb contains trace amounts of rhein. Rheum tanguticum contains abundant rhein. The ratio value of the content of rhein to chrysophanol could be used to distinguish R. tanguticum from the other two authentic varieties (R. palmatum and R. officinale). The content of rhaponticin varied largely in different varieties of wave leaf groups rhubarb.

Pepole pay more attention to the medicinal value and health function of Monascus day by day,however,the existence of citrinin restricted the further development of Monascus products heavily. How to ruduce the content of citrinin is a problem need to be solved urgently.Briefly introduced the toxicity,the biosynthetic pathway,and the relative standards of citrinin in monascus. According to the research progress on citrinin,the strategies of citrinin control were described from the three aspects of fermentation technology,mutation breeding,and genetic engineering. The expectation about the direction of citrinin in the future was also discussed.

Objective To study the correlation between patellar stability and keen clinical manifestation in adults with Kaschin-Beck disease (KBD).Methods Through a cross-sectional study in September 2016,one hundred and forty-three adult patients with KBD were asked to accept a digital radiographic X-ray (DR) which included positive and lateral slices of knee joint and axis slice of patellar.Meanwhile,every patient must undergo a Lysholm function evaluation for knee joint and morphological measurement on the DR film which included Insall index,lateral patellofemoral angle,sulcus angle,congruence angle,lateral migrating ratio of patella,and patellofemoral index.Then,the regression equation was built and the correlation analysis was made with multiple linear regression test.Results One hundred and forty-three patients' average scores of Insall index,lateral patellofemoral angle,sulcus angle,congruence angle,lateral migrating ratio of patella,patellofemoral index and Lysholm score were 1.10 ± 0.17,(14.49 ± 1.47)°,(138.08 ± 3.86)°,(11.55 ± 2.17)°,(1.34 ± 0.13)％,1.18 ±0.10,and (62.96 ± 6.11) scores.By multiple linear regression test,Insall index (X1),congruence angle (X4),lateral migrating ratio of patella (X5),and patellofemoral index (X6) were selected to enter into the equation;while,lateral patellofemoral angle and sulcus angle were rejected.The multiple linear regression equation was as follows:Y =17.529 + 15.232X5 + 0.950X4 + 15.957X6-4.224X1.The adjusted determination coefficient (R2) of the equation was 0.559.Those indexes which were selected to enter into the equation were ranked from big to small based on the impact on Lysholm as follow:congruence angle,lateral migrating ratio of patella,patellofemoral index,and Insall index.Among them,Lysholm score had a negative correlation with Insall index.Through variance analysis,F valve was 46.642,and P ＜ 0.05,which meant the fitted equation had statistical significance.Conclusion There is significant correlation between the patellar stability and knee Lysholm scoring in adult with KBD,which is reflected with the following parameters from big to small in turn:patellofemoral index,lateral migrating ratio of patella,congruence angle and Insall index.
