1.A STUDY ON PREPARATION AND QUALITY STANDARD OF XUENING GRANULE
Traditional Chinese Drug Research & Clinical Pharmacology 1993;0(03):-
Xuening Granule is a traditional Chinese patent medicine based on San Huang Xie Xin Tang. The effective Component of each herbal medicine were extracted individually and then mixed together to form granules. This process avoids the chemical reactions among the drugs in order to enhance the the effects. The major contents are determined and differentiated to control its quality

Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2013;36(29):11-13
Objective To investigate the feasibility of tension-free inguinal hernia repair whether use of antibiotics prophylaxis. Methods A total of 204 cases of adult inguinal hernia were selected and they were divided into treatment group(51 cases)and control group(153 cases)under a hospital order by 1 ∶ 3 randomly. The patients in treatment group were treated by first-generation cephalosporin antibiotics once preoperatively, while the patients in control group received no antibiotics treatment. The incidence of early postoperative infection between two groups was compared. Results Among of 204 cases,5 cases developed surgical site infection,1 case from treatment group, infection rate was 2.0% (1/51),while 4 cases from control group, infection rate was 2.6%(4/153).There was no significant difference in the infection rate between two groups(x2 =0.000,P =1.000).No significant difference was found in the results of complete white blood cell count, neutrophilic granulocyte ratio, hospital stays and hospital expenses between two groups(P > 0.05).Conclusion There is no real need to apply regular antibiotics prophylaxis treatment for adult tension-free inguinal hernia repair without high risk factors.

In order to determine the challenge dose of pigeon paramyxovirus type 1 (PPMV-1) inactivated vaccine (S-1 strain). The virus titer of PPMV-1 E5 allantoic fluid (Chuansha strain) was determined using SPF chicken embryos in this research. After inoculating 30-day-old and 120-day-old pigeons with low-HI antibody against PPMV-1 (HI antibody < or =2) with different doses of PPMV-1 (Chuansha strain), the clinical symptoms and histopathological lesions of the challenged pigeons were examined. The results showed that the minimal lethal dose (MLD) of PPMV-1 (Chuansha strain) was 102.5 ELD50, so we determined that 10(5.5) ELD50, which was 1000 times the MLD, could be taken as the challenge dose in the vaccine efficacy test for PPMV-1 inactivated vaccine (S-1 strain).

Objective To establish radioiodine therapy in nonthyroid tumor and to investigate 131Ⅰ treatment effect on xenografted ovarian cancer. Methods Based on previous test, xenografted ovarian cancer nude model were established in nude mice. The effects of radioactive isotope 99m TcO-4 imaging and radioiodine 131Ⅰ treatment on xenografted ovarian cancer in vivo were investigated. Results After transferring human sodium/iodide symporter (hNIS) gene, the xenografted ovarian cancer in nude mice was imaged by isotope 99m TcO-4 Moreover,131Ⅰ exerted inhibitory effect on the proliferative activity. Conclusion After the transfection of hNIS gene, 131Ⅰ has inhibitory effect on proliferative activity of xenografted ovarian cancer.

AIM:To observe the clinical effect of femtosecond laser assisted penetrating keratoplasty.
METHODS: Twenty-four cases ( 24 eyes ) with corneal lesions were performed with femtosecond laser assisted penetrating keratoplasty. Preoperative and postoperative endothelial cell density and visual quality were compared.RESULTS: One week after operation, corneal grafts were clear in 21 eyes (87. 5%), mild cloudy in 3 eyes (12.5%);visual acuity ≥0. 5 in 18 eyes (75. 0%), 0. 2 ~0.4 in 6 eyes ( 25. 0%). After 3mo the mean corneal astigmatism was 2. 16±0. 21D ( range 2. 25 ~ 3. 09D). Compared to conventional penetrating keratoplasty which mean corneal astigmatism was average 3. 67±0. 38D after operation, there was significant difference between two groups ( P< 0. 05 ). There were significant differences between preoperative and postoperative visual acuity and astigmatism (both P<0. 05).
CONCLUSION: Femtosecond laser assisted penetrating corneal transplantation operation can improve patient's visual quality. And compared to traditional penetrating keratoplasty astigmatism decreased significantly, incision can be made in individual shape more precisely and neatly.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the risk factors of vaginal dilators by 567 adverse event reports, and to provide a reference for the reasonable use.
METHODSWith retrospective case study, analyzed 567 reports induced by vaginal dilators by National Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Center in 2012.
RESULTSExpected treatment of disease might be relevant with severity of adverse events, while age was not the related factor; the influencing factor of consequences of grading was the classification of the cause of adverse events.
CONCLUSIONMonitoring should be strengthen in order to reduce or avoid the vaginal dilator adverse events.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(6):949-954
The blood-brain barrier (BBB) protects the brain against unwanted substances, while, at the same time, limits the transport of many drugs into the brain. Aromatic refreshing traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can induce resuscitation and modify the permeability of BBB, promoting other drugs entering into the brain with brain protection effect. This paper mainly reviews the research progress in regulation effects and mechanism of usual aromatic refreshing TCM, such as borneol, moschus, styrax, benzoinum and Tatarinow Sweetflag Rhizome, on BBB permeability. To broaden the application of these drugs in modern pharmaceutics in the future, the relatively research should emphasis on combining aromatic refreshing TCM with new formulations and technologies in pharmaceutics, providing novel promising strategies for brain diseases therapy.
