Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(08):-
The cerebral blood flow of infant is effected by physiological and pathological factors. As the cerebrovascular autoregulation of neonates is poor,in pathological cases, especially when hypoxemia and hypercapnia impaired regulation of its own, lead to changes in cerebral blood flow, then resulting in severe brain injury. It has made enormous progress in the research on the changes of cerebral blood flow in newborns in recent years. In normal infants, cerebral blood flow velocities is positively correlated to gestational age and body weight, and increase gradually with day-age in the first week after birth. The cerebral blood flow of newborn with brain injury can present as insufficiency,over-perfusion or low speed high-resistance earlier and high speed low-resistance later.Different results may be related to the duration and severity of asphyxia, but all of those are signs of damage of self-regulatory function of cerebral blood flow.Cerebral hemodynamic change is the important pathogenesis mechanism of brain injury.

Objective Nanoknife, also called irreversible electroporation,is a new technique of tissue ablation.Short, microsecond electrical pulses with high voltage are applied to the cell membrane, causing pores to form within the membrane and finally leading to cell death. The current study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of the nanoknife in the ablation of the healthy pig pancreas. Methods Three healthy pigs underwent open pancreatic tissue ablation with nanoknife, and blood leukocytes and amylase were detected before and after treatment.Three pigs were sacrificed and gross specimens were collected on day 5,day 10 and day 15 after the procedure, respectively.HE staining and TUNEL staining were conducted and tissue, cellular and subcellular structures were observed under the ordinary microscope and transmission electron microscopy. Results Three experimental pigs recovered well after the procedure. No significant adhesions were found surrounding the pancreatic tissue, and the ablation zone was slightly harder.Transiently increased leukocyte count and amylase level were observed after the ablation, which decreased to the normal level on day 3 after treatment.Under light microscope, the pancreatic tissues in ablation zone appeared to be significantly different from the normal surrounding regions, with more cell death and more apoptotic cells detected by TUNEL staining. The subcellular structure changes also changed under electron microscope. But the main pancreatic duct and its large branches, together with arteriovenous distributions did not change much. Conclusions Nanoknife pancreatic tissue ablation can induce irreversible damage. In the ablation area, pancreatic duct and vascular structures are kept intact.Within a reasonable voltage range and appropriate electrical pulses setting, nanoknife ablation is safe in vivo experiment.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of neoadjunctive chemotherapy(NAC)of docetaxel and epirubicin com-bined with cyclophosphamide on clinical efficacy and tumor markers of breast cancer patients with different molecular types. METH-ODS:A total of 88 female patients with locally advanced breast cancer collected from our hospital during Jan. 2014-Jan. 2016 were divided into Luminal A type(23 cases),Luminal B type(21 cases),basal-like type(11 cases),HER2-over expressing type(18 cases)and normal breast-like type(15 cases)according to molecular type. All patients were given Docetaxel injection+Epirubicin hydrochloride injection+Cyclophosphamide for injection for consecutive 6 cycles(21 d as a cycle). Total response rates and patho-logical complete remission(pCR)rates were compared among breast cancer patients with different molecular types. The expression of serum tumor markers [CEA,CA125,CA153] were compared before and after treatment, and the occurrence of ADR was record-ed. RESULTS:Total response rate of 88 patients was 63.64%,among which that of basal-like breast cancer patients was 72.73%, significantly higher than other molecular types, with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in total response rates of pairwise molecular type comparison(P>0.05). The pCR rate of 88 patients was 27.27%,and that of basal-like breast cancer patients was the highest(45.45%). There was statistical significance in pCR rates of pairwise molecular type compari-son(P<0.05),except there was no significant difference in pCR rate between HER2-over expressing type and normal breast-like type(P>0.05). Before treatment, there was no statistical significance in the expression of CEA,CA125 and CA153 in breast can-cer patients with different molecular types(P>0.05). After treatment, the expression of CEA,CA125 and CA153 in different mo-lecular types were decreased significantly, with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the expres-sion of above markers among different molecular types(P>0.05). There was no statistical significance in the incidence of ADR among different molecular types(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:NAC plan of docetaxel and epirubicin combined with cyclophospha-mide can reduce the expression of tumor markers and shows certain therapeutic efficacy for breast cancer patients with different mo-lecular types. Total response rate and pCR rate of basal-like type are better than those of other molecular types,so NAC plan is the preferred treatment for basal-like type breast cancer.

The endophytic bacteria of the mangroves were studied in this paper. The results show that there are 1.728 (0. 195 -4.225)?104cfu/g (fw) bacterial endophytes in the variety of mangroves, the most population of the endophytic bacteria was found in Rhizophora stylosa, the figure was4. 225?104cfu/g (fw) , the next was Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Aegiceras corniculatum, Kandelia candel and Avicennia marina. In parts of the mangroves, the contents of the bacteria in stem was the most, the figure was 1. 649?10 cfu/g (fw) , then the root and the leaf. Of the bacteria, about 43. 53% strains expressed the antagonism against the growth of the plant pathogens, such as Fusarium oxyspontm f. sp. cubense , Colletotrichum sp. and Rahtonia solanaceance etc. and these bacteria were identified as Bacillus sp. . The results also showed that 9 of the 13 strains (69. 23% ) could promote the growth of the tomato, while 4 strains (30. 77% ) restrained the tomato's growth.

BACKGROUND: Resistin has been shown to play an important role in the pathogenesis and progression of osteoarthritis. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the correlation between resistin level in serum and synovial fluid and the severity of knee osteoarthritis. METHODS: Seventy-four patients with knee osteoarthritis and 79 healthy individuals were recruited. The Noyes score method was used to assess articular cartilage damage arthroscopically. The severity of knee osteoarthritis was evaluated according to the Western Ontario McMaster University Osteoarthritis (WOMAC) score. The radiographic severity of knee osteoarthritis was assessed by the Kellgren-Lawrence (K-L) grading system. The levels of resistin and cross linked C-telopeptide of type Ⅱ collagen (CTX-Ⅱ) in serum and synovial fluid were determined by ELISA. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The resistin level in the synovial fluid was positively correlated with the radiographic severity of knee osteoarthritis, WOMAC pain, WOMAC function, and WOMAC total scores, but showed no correlation with the WOMAC stiffness score. There were no significant correlations between the serum level of resistin and WOMAC total scores, subscale or K-L Grading system in the the osteoarthritis patients. Multiple regression analysis showed that the correlation between the synovial fluid level of resistin and WOMAC scores was of significance after removal of other confounding factors, and the resistin level in the synovial fluid was positively correlated with Noyes scores and CTX-Ⅱ level. These results suggest that the resistin level in the synovial fluid can serve as a potential biomarker reflecting the severity of knee osteoarthritis and cartilage degenerative degree in patients with osteoarthritis.
