Objective To explore the value of electroneurophysiological detection in diagnosis of children progressive muscular dystrophy (PMD).Methods The clinical features and laboratory data were analyzed in 32 children with PMD ,and electromyography(EMG) and nerve conduction velocity(NCV) were performed.Parameters studied included spontaneous activity , duration and amplitude of motor unit potential(MUP),pattern of recruitment as strong contracting,sensory conduction velocity(SCV),motor conduction velocity(MCV), distal latency and distal amplitude. OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) with branch-foundation acupoint combination on the indices regarding pituitary-target gland axis in aging rats with yang deficiency, so as to explore its regulating mechanism on aging rats with yang deficiency.

METHODSForty healthy Sprague-Dawley female rats were randomly divided into a normal control group, a model group, an EA group and an EA control group, 10 rats in each group. Except the normal control group, the rats in the rest 3 groups were all treated with subcutaneous injection of D-galactose for 40 d, followed by intramuscular injection of hydrocortisone for 7 d to establish aging model with yang deficiency. After the successful establishment of model, the EA group was treated with EA at "Guanyuan" (CV 4), "Housanli" (ST 36) and "Baihui "(GV 20) while the EA control group was treated with EA at "Zhongji" (CV 3) "Yinlingquan" (SP 9) and "Yintang" (GV 29); the rats in the normal control group and model group were immobilized and fixed during the same time period. The treatments were given 6 times per week totally for 4 weeks. With radiation immunity analysis method, the 8 biological indices of pituitary-target gland axis, including thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), triiodothyronine (T3), tetraiodothyronine-4 (T4), adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), corticosterone (CORT), estradiol (E2), luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) were detected to observe the changes of their content.

RESULTSCompared with the normal control group, the serum level of TSH, T3, T4 and E2 were reduced in the model group (P<0.05, P< 0.01) while those of ACTH, CORT, FSH and LH were increased (P<0.05, P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the serum level of TSH, T3, T4 and E2 were increased in the EA group (P<0.05, P<0.01) while those of ACTH, CORT, FSH and LH were significantly reduced (P<0.05, P<0.01). Compared with the EA control group, the content of TSH was increased in the EA group without statistical significance (P>0.05), that of T3, T4 and E2 was increased (all P<0.05) and that of ACTH, CORT, FSH and LH was significantly reduced (all P<0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe electroacupuncture with branch-foundation acupoint combination has benign regulating effects on the key hormones of pituitary-target gland axis, which could effectively improve the dysfunction of pituitary-target gland axis that is caused by aging with yang deficiency; the efficacy of electroacupuncture with branch-foundation acupoint combination is superior to that of adjacent control acupoint combination.

Functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI),as a noninvasive technology of measuring human brain function,has been used in neurolingustic research on normal subjects and on patients with brain damage,to investigate the neural basis underlying language processing.Such studies complement and development the classical knowledge accumulated on aphasia,provide new insights into the neural mechanisms of aphasia and the plasticity of recovery from aphasia,and might be helpful to evaluate the capability of language functional recovery and the efficiency of rehabilitative strategies also.

OBJECTIVETo improve the outcome of the face-lift with a craniofacial contouring procedure.

METHODSThirty-seven patients aged 29-53 years (31 in female, 6 in male) were treated through a bicoronal incision. The facial tissue was lifted through a subperiosteal procedure and the facial skeleton was remodeled in three dimensions by osteotomies.

RESULTSThe results were satisfactory after the 3-12 months of the follow-ups.

CONCLUSIONSThe Face-lift combined with the facial aesthetic sculpturing may be more effective for the aging-face rejuvenating.

Objective To determine whether the novel surface-anchored protein SasX promotes aggregation of S.aureus and adherence of S.aureus to human nasal epithelial cells.Methods MRSA ST-239 HS770 sasX gene mutant ( HS770 △sasX) and complement [ HS770 △sasX (pRBsasX) ] were gotten by gene knock-out and complement methods.The aggregation ability of S.aureus was observed through microscope.By adherence assay which was used for detection of the adherence ability of wild type and mutant to human nasal epithelial cells and blocking experiments which detected the ability of the purified recombinant SasX protein in blocking the adherence of S.aureus to human nasal epithelial cells,we investigated the influence SasX on colonization of S.aureus.Results Compared to wild type,HS770△sasX showed a reduction in cell aggregation,while the complement had no difference with wild type in aggregation. HS770 △sasX showed a significant reduction of adherence to human nasal epithelial cells compared to wild type ( P＜0.01 ),and the complement showed a very clear increasement of adherence to human nasal epithelial cells compared to wild type(P＜0.01 ).Preincubation of nasal epithelial cells with the purified recombinant SasX protein inhibited S.aureus binding significantly.Conclusion SasX had an influence in aggregation of S.aureus and its adherence to human nasal epithelial cells.By acquiring sasX,S.aureus colonized more easily to the susceptible sites of the host,and thus caused infection.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of domestic Sirolimus-eluting stents (Firebird) and imported Zotalimus-eluting stents ( Resolute) in the treatment of patients with unprotected left main coronary artery disease ( ULMCA) . Methods We retrospectively enrolled 76 patients with ULMCA treated by percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) under the guidance of IVUS in our hospital. According to the different stents used in the procedure, the patients were divided into two groups: Domestic Sirolimus-Eluting Stents group (Firebird group, n = 42) and Imported Zotarolimus-Eluting Stents group (Resolute group, n = 34) . We analyzed the baseline characteristics, coronary artery lesion characteristics, stenting strategies and any changes in left ventricular ejection fraction ( LVEF) in both groups and investigated the long-term clinical outcomes. Results There were no significant differences in the baseline characteristics, the SYNTAX scores of the coronary artery lesion and the rate of complete revascularization between the two groups. Compared with that in Firebird group, there were more cases involving the distal left main (79. 4% vs. 45. 2% , P ﹤ 0. 05) and more patients using two stents strategies (29. 4% vs. 7. 1% , P ﹤ 0. 05) in the Resolute group. The change in LVEF post-PCI had no difference between the two groups. The patients were followed up for a mean of (23. 3 ± 10. 7) months. During the follow-up period, the occurrence of MACCE had no significant difference between the two groups. In the Firebird group, there were one sudden cardiac death, one nonfatal myocardial infarction, one stroke and five patients with recurrence of angina pectoris. In the Resolute group there were one sudden cardiac death, one target lesion revascularization and four patients with recurrence of angina pectoris. Conclusions Compared with the imported Zotalimus-Eluting Stents, the domestic Sirolimus-Eluting Stents are safe and effective in the treatment of patients with unprotected left main lesions under the guidance of IVUS. The two kinds of stent showed similar long-term clinical outcomes.

Objective To determine the effect of paired immunoglobulin-like receptor B (PirB) on growth of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) in vitro.Methods Expression of PirB in RGCs isolated from wild-type C57 BJ/6 mice was measured by immunofluorescence.Real-time PCR and Western blot were performed to detect PirB expressions in RGCs cultured for 1,3,5,7 and 9 days.Primary cultured RGCs were left untreated as controls,transfected with lentiviral-delivered PirB RNAi as Group A,lentiviral-delivered NgR RNAi as Group B,lentiviral-delivered PirB RNAi plus ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) as Group C,lentiviral-delivered NgR plus CNTF as Group D,and only CNTF as Group E.Growth and development of RGCs were evaluated by MTT assay and morphological analysis.Results Immunofluorescence confirmed expression of PirB in RGCs,with its mRNA and protein levels changing from increase at first to decrease later with time,up to peak at days 5 and 7.PirB and NgR were respectively down-regulated in Groups A and B.Viability of RGCs was improved in Group A compared with control group [(40.2 ± 5.3) μm vs (29.1 ± 3.8) μm at day 3 ; (72.2 ± 4.2) μm vs (52.3 ± 8.2) μm at day 5,both P ＜ 0.05].By contrast,no significant difference was found in viability of RGCs among Groups B,D and E when compared to control group (P ＞ 0.05).Growth of RGCs between Groups A and C revealed insignificant difference (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion Knockdown of PirB is beneficial for the growth of RGCs,suggesting a novel method to treat optic nerve injury.

Objective To evaluate the effect of transcatheter hepatic artery embolization with lipiodol on perfused radiofrequency ablation (PRFA) on mini-porcine.Methods Ten Chinese mini-porcine were randomly divided into embolization group and control group (each n=5) .A standard PRFA with infusing cooling procedure was done in control group,while transcatheter hepatic artery embolization with lipiodol was done before PRFA in embolization group.CT and MR scan were performed after PRFA.Then a comparative analysis of the shape and volume of the lesions in the liver were performed.Resuits In both two groups,distinct spherical margin of the PRFA lesions was obtained.The minimal diameter was (31.76±3.43) mm in embolization group and (27.23±3.49) mm in control group (t=2.675,P＜0.05) .The average volume of the embolization group was (54.47±9.98) cm~3,while in the control group was (20.90±5.68) cm~3 (t=10.424,P＜0.05) .Conclusion Transcatheter hepatic artery embolization with lipiodol before PRFA can enlarge the ablation size of mini-porcine's liver.

Objective:To explore the influence of ischemia/reperfusion (anoxia/reoxygenation)[FK(W16*2。142mmZQ1mm]on immunofunction of endothelial cells(ECs) and effect of intervention with 2-hydroxymethyl-3,5,6-trimethylpyrazine on it.Methods:Model of ECs induced by anoxia/reoxygenation was established to mimic ECs ischemia/reperfusion injury in vivo with human umbilical vein endothelial cell line ECV304.Then 2-hydroxymethyl-3,5,6-trimethylpyraxine was used to intervene the anoxia/reoxygenation process.Nuclear transcriptional factor-?B(NF-?B) was exhibited by fluorescent staining,HLA-ABC,HLA-DR,CD86 and CD54 were detected by flow cytometry.Mixed endothelial cell-lymphocyte reaction(MELR) was conducted to examine the proliferation of lymphocyte,production of IL-2 and percentage of apoptotic lymphocyte.Results:Anoxia/reoxygenation made the ECV304 cell became round,shrunk and abscised,with increased plasma NF-?B,and changed from positive cytoplasm to positive nucleus.HLA-ABC,HLA-DR and CD86 on surface of cells increased but CD54 showed unchanged.MELR showed the incorporation of ~3H-TdR and production of IL-2 increased significantly and the percentage of apoptotic lymphocyte decreased.After 2-hydroxymethyl-3,5,6-trimethylpyrazine intervention,the ECV304 cell shapes recovered,NF-?B expression didn’t down-regulated,but the percentage of positive cells decreased,changes to positve dominant.Besides,reversal changes were shown in other parameters.Conclusion:Anoxia/reoxygenation influences some important immune related molecules in ECV304 cells.2-hydroxymethyl-3,5,6-trimethylpyrazine could antagonize these influences to maintain the immune function of endothelial cells in a relative normal manner.
