Purpose: To explore the clinical value of 99mTc-MIBI imaging in differentiating malignancies from benign breast masses. Methods: 195 patients underwent the examination for 99m Tc-MIBI. Comparative diagnosis was done by postoperative pathology in all cases. Results: 69 of the 84 cases of breast cancer were preoperatively diagnosed by 99mTc-MIBI, the causes of false-negative results were small size of the mass and the higher degree of malignancy. 102 of the 111 patients with benign lesions were scintimammographically negative, the cause of false-positive results was large fibroadenomas with surplus blood supply. The sensitivity was 82. 1%, specificity was 92.0%, and the diagnostic accuracy was 89.2%. Conclusions: 99mTc-MIBI examination is an effective, simple and noninvasive diagnostic method for primary breast cancer.

Objective To investigate radionuclide imaging and routine CT in diagnosing hepatic focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) and the combined diagnostic value of the two modalities. Methods Thirty-two patients with hepatic FNH were retrospectively studied. All patients underwent routine CT scan. Twenty-four patients were examined by 99Tcm-sulfur colloid (SC) hepatic planar scintigraphy and SPECT/CT imaging, and then patients who had abnormal foci underwent 99Tcm-diethyl iminodiacetic acid (EHIDA) triple-phase hepatobiliary imaging. x2 -test of four-table or Fisher exact probabilities in 2 × 2 table was applied for statistical analysis. Results Of all 32 patients pathologically diagnosed as FNH with single solitary nodule, 25 were classified as classic type and the rest 7 as non-classic type. Although routine CT found all hepatic lesions, only 15 cases were diagnosed pathologically as FNH classic type but the rest were either misdiagnosed or left as indeterminate. On radionuclide imaging (hepatic colloid scintigraphy plus triple-phase hepatobiliary images), 11 patients with big foci (with maximal diameter ＞3 cm) out of 24 patients were correctly diagnosed as FNH, with 7 diagnosed as classic type FNH and 4 as non-classic. Other 13 patients were either misdiagnosed or simply missed. The diagnosing rates of routine CT and radionuclide imaging were60.0% (15/25) and 38.9% (7/18) for FNH classic type, 0/7 and 4/6 for non-classic type,50.0% (10/20) and 73.3% (11/15) for big foci, 41.7% (5/12) and 0/9 forsmall foci (with maximal diameter≤3 cm), respectively. The total diagnosing rate of radionuclide imaging combined with routine CT was significantly higher than that of routine CT or radionuclide imaging alone ( x2 = 4. 48, P ＜ 0. 05;x2 =4.27, P ＜0.05 ). Conclusion Radionuclide imaging in combination with routine CT may improve the diagnostic accuracy for hepatic FNH patients.

Objective:To investigate the theraputic effect of STAT3 Decoy-ODN combined with chemotherapy drugs for HCC commonly used in clinical,include doxorubicin (DOX),5-fluorouracil (5-Fu) and cisplatin;and,analyzing the impact of combination therapy on the immune system.Methods:MTT assay was used to detect cell proliferation,and Annexin-V /7AAD double staining assay was used to detect the apoptosis of Decoy ODN transfected-hepatoma cells treated with chemotherapy drugs.The tumor growth and survival rate of H22 tumor-bearing mice treated with DOX combined with STAT3 Decoy-ODN or not were observed.FACS was applied to analyze the subpopulation and activation of PBMCs from tumor-bearing mice treated as above,and to evaluate the influence of DOX or DOX-treated tumor cells on spleen lymphocyte activation.Results: DOX-induced the suppression and the apoptosis of H22 were significantly increased by Decoy ODN transfection.The combination treatment of Decoy ODN and DOX significantly reduced H22 tumor growth and extended the survival of tumor-bearing mice.Low-dose DOX could increase the proportion of T cells and CD69+T cells in PBMCs,as well as the expression of CD107a and IFN-γin NK cells.DOXt-reated H 22 cells increased the proportion of T cells.Conclusion:Targeted blocking STAT3 could enhance the sensitivity of liver cancer cells to doxorubicin.So,combination therapy may improve DOX therapeutic effect and reduce DOX-mediated side effects.Furthermore,low dose of DOX can promote the activation of host immune system by acting on tumor cells.

Objective To observe the effects of static pressure on the number of cultured retinal M?ller glial cells(RMGC)and expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP)and heat shock protein(HSP)70 by these cells.Design Experimental study. Participants Cultured rat RMGC.Methods Rat RMGCs were cultured and identified according to previous method described by Reichenbach.These cells were treated with different static pressures and divided into 4 groups:A(1.33kPa),B(2.67kPa),C(5.33kPa)and D(10.67 kPa)while the cells without treatment was as control group(NC).The morphologies of RMGC in these groups were observed under inverted phased contrast microscope,the number of RMGC counted with conservative method and the viability were studied with trypan blue staining.The expressions of GFAP and HSP70 in RMGCs were detected with the method of western blot.Main Outcome Measures The morphologies of RMGC,cell number,cell viability.Results There were pressure-dependent changes of RMGC number. The cell number of group C and D was less than that of group NC,A and B(P＜0.01).High static pressure resulted directly in the decreased ratio of unstained RMGCs(P＜0.01).The ratio of unstained RMGCs in group C and D was less than that in group NC,A and B(P＜0.01).Many cells in group C and D were injured and the higher the pressure elevated,the more the degree of injury became.The expressions of GFAP and HSP70 in group NC were less than other pressure treated groups and the expression of GFAP in group C and D was higher than that in group A and B.There was no obvious difference between these pressure treated groups.Conclusions High static pressure could cause the injuries of RMGCs.The increased expression of GFAP and HSP70 in RMGC might be regarded as a sign of retinal injury response to high intraocular pressure.

Objective To explore the clinical significance of preoperative ultrasound-assisted drawings in location of thyroid micronodule resection .Methods A total of 88 patients ( 137 nodules ) who underwent thyroid micro-nodule resection were enrolled in the prospective randomized controlled study .All patients were randomly divided into two groups:46 patients (68 micronodules) in experimental group and 42 patients (69 micronodules) in control group.Inclusion criteria:the maximum diameter of nodule≤1.0 cm. Preoperative thyroid ultrasound was conducted .Patients in experimental group also underwent ultrasound-assisted location of thyroid micronodule .Results The diagnostic accuracy rate of US was 81.82%(69/88) in all patients .With the help of ultrasound-assisted location , all nodules in experimental group were found quickly and accurately.The resection rate of experimental group was 100%(46/46).Whereas 4 nodules (in 4 patients ) were missed in control group with a resection rate of 90.5% (38/42).The postoperative US examinations after 3 months showed that all nodules were completely removed in experimental group while 4 nodules retained in control group .Conclusions Preoperative ultrasound-assisted drawings in location of thyroid micronodule plays an important role in thyroid nodule resection .It is great value of clinical application .

Objective To study the effect of mind mapping on cognitive ability in elderly with mild cognitive impairment(MCI).Methods A total of 60 elderly aged were randomly divided into training group (30 cases) and control group(30 cases).Elderly in control group received routine maintenance of living habits.The elderly in the training group received miud mapping training intensively for 30 minutes every day for 12 months.The training effects were evaluated by mini-mental state examination(MMSE) and abilities of daily living scale(ADL).Results After training,the score of MMSE in the training group( six months:25.55 ± 1.17;one year:26.30 ±1.64) were significantly higher than before intervention( P＜ 0.05 ) and higher than that of control group(24.90 ± 1.97) (P＜0.05).The score of ADL in the training group( 14.47 ±0.64) were significantly lower than before intervention( 14.47 ±0.64) and that of control group( 15.47 ± 1.19) ( P＜ 0.05).Conclusion Mind mapping training can improve the cognitive abilities of MCI older people.

A novel Aspergillus terreus strain M11 was isolated from the compost containing cellulose and identified. The isolate grow best at 45℃ and pH2.0. It was found that the activity of the CMCase was up to 3.680IU/mL with high heat stability and the optimal reaction conditions of the CMCase were at 60℃ and pH2.0.
