Purpose To measure the nuclear morphological parameters of breast cancer to study the relationship between nuclear mor-phological parameters and ER, PR, HER-2 expression, and clinicopathologic features of breast carcinoma. Methods 388 cases of breast cancer specimens were collected and molecular classification was made according to ER, PR and HER-2 expression. the nucleus parameters were measured by image analysis software after HE staining. The difference among groups was statistically analysed, and follow-up was done by phone or by hospitalization. Results Among the 4 groups of breast cancer case, the differences of circle diame-ter, area and perimeter edges of the nucleus were statistically significant (P<0.05). Nuclear morphometric quantitation between ER+/PR+ patients and ER-/PR- patients was statistically significantly differentice (P<0.05). The majority of patients with ER-/PR- were histological gradeⅢand poor survival rate (P<0.05). The disease-free survival in Luminal A type was higher than that of Basal-like type (P<0.05), and its overall survival was higher than HER-2 over-expression (P<0. 05) and Basal-like type (P<0.05) . Conclusion The nucleus morphological quantitation in breast cancer is of significant difference, which has certain reference value in its molecular typing. The result of ER, PR and HER-2 expression, combined with nuclear morphology measurement, are meaningful to the treatment and assessment of prognosis.

Objective To evaluate effects of maternal hypothermic cardiopulmonary bypass on fetal homodynamic and carbohydrate metabolism. Methods Twenty pregnant sheep were divided into four groups randomly: control group(n=5),normothermic group (35-36℃)(n=5), mild hypothermic group(32-34℃)(n=5) and moderate hypothermic group (28-31℃)(n=5).Thoracotomy was performed without CPB in the control group. Routine CPB was established with different temperature in other three groups. The temperature of normothermic group was kept normal; the left two groups were cooled down to the set point of temperature and then rewarmed back to normal level. Fetal and maternal temperatures, heart rate, mean blood pressure(BP), pulse index (PI) of fetal umbilical artery (UA) and internal carotid artery (CA) were evaluated at cooling and rewarming stages. Biochemical indicators including blood glucose and lactic acid were also measured at the same time. Results There are no differences in mesn BP of ewas and fetal lambs between the different groups (P>0.05). CA PI value of mild hypothermic group and moderate hypothermic group were significantly higher than those of control group and normothermic group (P<0.05). There was no difference of UA PI in the four groups, but PI increased following the prolonged duration of CPB. There was no difference change of blood glucose in the four group of fetus, which was significantly lower than the ewe groups. An upward trend of fetal blood lactic acid with time was observed in three CPB groups. The whole level of fetal blood lactic acid was much higher than that of maternal blood of lactic acid. Conclusion Cooling of maternal bypsss decreases fetal heart rate significantly, and fetal heart rate recovered to base line following rewarming phase. There was no signicant effect of CPB on fetal mean BP. However, CPB impacted on the blood flow of fetal brain and umbilical artey. Hypothermia CPB can increase fetal blood glucose and blood lactic acid dramatically.

OBJECTIVETo investigate whether the ERK/FoxO3a signal axis could induce the inhibitory effect of vitexin 1 (VB-1) in HepG2 cell proliferation.
METHODThe MTT method was adopted to observe the effect of different concentrations of VB-1 on human hepatoma carcinoma cell line HepG2 and immortalized human embryo liver cell line L-02. The cell growth was assessed by the clone formation assay. The protein phosphorylation levels of ERK1/2 and FoxO3a were measured by the western blot.
RESULTVB-1 inhibited the viability of HepG2 cell line in a concentration-dependent manner, with a weak effect on L-02 cell line. VB-1 could effectively inhibit the anchorage-dependent growth of HepG2 cells, and reduce the expression levels of pERK1/2 and pFoxO3a in a concentration-dependent manner. MEK1/2 inhibitor PD98059 could enhance VB-1' s effect in inhibiting HepG2 cell proliferation and ERK1/2, FoxO3a phosphorylation.
CONCLUSIONVB-1 inhibits the proliferative activity of hepatoma carcinoma cell line HepG2 by blocking the ERK/FoxO3a signal axis.

Objective To determine the safety and efficacy of minimally invasive surgical treatment for post-traumatic thoracolumbar kyphosis. Methods A retrospective review was performed on seven patients with post-traumatic thoracolumbar kyphosis admitted from April 2009 to February 2010.There were four males and three females, at average age of 45.3 years. After general anesthesia, minimally invasive transarticular osteotomy and multi-level SextantTM percutaneous reduction and internal fixation were performed under QuadrantTM working tube system. The status of pain and ability was evaluated by using visual analogue scale (VAS) and Oswestry disability index (ODI). The kyphotic deformity was evaluated by using the Cobb's angle. Results The operation lasted for mean 135 minutes, with mean perioperative blood loss of 106 ml but with no any complications occurred. The mean follow -up period was 5.5 months ( range 4 -16 months ). The mean VAS score was improved from preoperative ( 7.6 ±3.5) points to postoperative (2.5 ± 1.3) points, with statistical difference (P <0.01 ). The mean ODI was improved from preoperative 53.6 ± 24.2 to postoperative 20.6 ± 6.3, with statistical difference ( P <0.01 ). The Cobb angle was also improved from preoperative ( 32. 1 ± 4.5 ) ° to postoperative ( 7.3 ±2.9 ) °, with statistical difference ( P < 0. 01 ). Conclusion Minimally invasive transarticular osteotomy under QuadrantTM working tube system is a safe and effective alternative for dealing with post-traumatic thoracolumbar kyphosis.

Objective To analyze the CT findings of endobronchial spread in lung adenocarcinoma. Methods The CT findings of 15 lung adenocarcinomas or bronchioloalveolar carcinomas with endobronchial spread were reviewed, the distribution and the progression of the spread were evaluated. Results All of the primary tumors were consolidation form. The spread lesions distributed in one side of the lung or both sides along the bronchus. The pleural surface was spared. The CT findings of the spread included centrilobular nodules(n=5),tree-in-bud(n=7),acinar nodules(n=2),ground-glass opacities(n=10)and air- space consolidations(n=13)in the first CT examination.5 cases of the spread lesions only presented centrilobular nodules(single form)and 10 cases presented several appearances(complex form). All of the cases were diagnosed as tuberculosis or pneumonia, and antituberculotic or antibiotic therapy was taken with no effect. The follow-up CT scans showed progression in all cases, and the spread lesions with single form became multiple consolidations. The spread lesions with complex form deteriorated faster than the single one. Conclusion Although the CT findings of the endobronchial spread of the lung adenocarcinoma is specific, the clinical history and laboratory examination also are important for the differential diagnosis with tuberculosis and other infectious diseases.
