OBJECTIVETo evaluate the therapeutic effects of percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) for the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) with degenerative scoliosis.
METHODSFrom March 2009 to March 2014,121 patients undergoing PKP for the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) with degenerative scoliosis were retrospective analyzed. There were 41 males and 80 females, ranging in age from 56 to 92 years with an average of 73.2 years. Preoperative and postoperative 3 d respectively pain visual analogue scale (visual analogue score, VAS) and Oswestry Disability Index assessed pain and functional recovery of patients and preoperative and postoperative 3 d lumbar lordosis, scoliosis Cobb angle were analyzed.
RESULTSAll the patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 6 to 24 months, with a mean time of 11 months. All the patients achieved success in operation without serious complications. The operation time ranged from 30 to 65 min with an average of 42.2 min. Local leakage of bone cement was not found in canal. The VAS and Oswestry Disability Index at the 3rd day after operation decreased significantly compared with those of the preoperative (P < 0.05), and the lumbar lordosis and scoliosis Cobb angle also improved significantly compared with those of the preoperative (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONPercutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) for the treatment of thoracolumbar scoliosis osteoporotic fracture can significantly improve patients spinal deformity, pain relief, which is worth of recommending.

China Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2016;29(1):89-93
Content of osteocyte in bone tissue is the most abundant, the most widely distributed, and embedding the cells in the mineralized bone matrix, the life can be close to the life of the body. Osteocyte formed by the cytoplasm dendritic communication network system between osteocyte and bone surface, is of great significance to maintaining the normal physiological function of bone tissue. Bone cells as the direct receptor of bone mechanical stress, through the release of bioactive factors such as PEG2, NO, ATP and classic Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway mechanical stress signal can be converted to bone formation and bone resorption of biochemical signals, and the biochemical signals were transfer to the other type cells of the tissue to regulate its function activities and cause bone reconstruction function. The microcracks surrounding osteocyte can disrupt the microtubule network system, cause surrounding osteocyte autophagy. In addition, osteocyte is very important for regulation of the body mineral balance, fat metabolism, and hematopoietic function.

Forest musk deer is one of the large-scale farming musk deer animals with the largest population at the same time. The male musk deer can secrete valuable medicines, which has high medicinal and economic value. Due to the loss of habitat and indiscriminate hunting, the numbers of wild population specie and the distribution have been drastically reduced. Therefore, in-depth understanding of the molecular genetics progress of forest musk deer will pave a way for musk deer protection and breeding. In this review, the progress associated with the molecular marker, genetic classification, artificial breeding, musk secretion and disease in past decades were reviewed, in order to provide a theoretical basis for subsequent molecular genetic researches in forest musk deer.

OBJECTIVE:
To study clinical effects of modified Mclaughlin procedure combined with locking plate for posterior shoulder dislocation with proximal humeral fracture which area of femoral head injury less than 40%.
METHODS:
From July 2012 to June 2017, 7 patients with posterior shoulder dislocation were treated, including 5 males and 2 females; aged from 37 to 53 years old. Three patients combined with split of humerus head and 4 patients combined with humerus surgical neck fracture. All patients treated with modified Mclaughlin procedure combined with locking plate. Motion of shoulder joint after operation was observed, postoperative UCLA score was used to evaluate clinical effects.
RESULTS:
Seven patients were followed up from 10 to 33 months. The motion of anteflexion and up-lift ranged from 130° to 170°, the motion of extorsion ranged from 45° to 75°, the motion of abduction ranged fron 105° to 150°, and the internal rotation was between L₃ to buttock. UCLA score ranged from 29 to 34; and 1 patient reached excellent, and 6 patients good.
CONCLUSIONS
The modified Mclaughlin procedure combined with locking plate showed satisfying result for posterior shoulder dislocation combined with fractures. However, the internal rotation of shoulder could be compromised.

Objective Using olfactory event related potentials(OERP) and magnetic resonance to evaluate olfactory function in patients with posttraumatic anosmia. Methods Twenty four patients with posttraumatic anosmia were reviewed retrospectively. A thorough medical history, physical examination, nasal endoscopy,T&T olfactory testing, olfactory event-related potentials, brain computed tomography scan and magnetic resonance image of olfactory pathway were performed in all patients. Results Subjective olfactory testing indicated 20 of 24 patients were birhinal anosmia. 2 with right nostril anosmia and left impairment,2 with left anosmia and right normal. No OERP were obtained in 24(20 were birhinal,4 was monorhinal),except 4 cases with single nostril. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed the injures to the olfactory bulbs(100%),rectus gyrus(91.7%),orbital gyrus(67%),olfactory tracts(8%) and temporal lobes(8%). Conclusions OERP can objectively evaluate posttraumatic olfactory function, and magnetic resonance of olfactory pathway can precisely identify the location and extent of injures.
