MicroRNA(miRNA) is a class of non-coding RNA that plays an important role in gene expression and controlling. In recent years, the role of miRNA in the development of the disease has aroused great interest. Abnormal osteoclastogenesis and persistent inflammatory response induced by wear particles or osteoblast differentiation and maturation is the main cause of aseptic loosening in joint replacements. New researches shows that persistent inflammatory response, osteoclastogenesis and osteoblast differentiation are closely associated with miRNA, suggesting that there are certain relations between miRNA and aseptic loosening of prostheses. Additionally, the alteration of the expression levels of some miRNA may be curative for aseptic loosening. With the findings of the new miRNA targets, the important role of miRNA is further confirmed.

To establish a method for the determination of astilbin, peoniflorin, rasmarinci acid, isofraxidin and liquiritin contained in Shaolin Xiaoyin tablets, in order to lay a foundation for designing late-stage dosage forms and clinical medication schemes. In this paper, efforts were made to establish a method for the determination of the blood concentration of the five components and study the in vivo pharmacokinetics in rats. The blood concentration was determined by HPLC. Phenomenex C18 column (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 microm) was adopted and eluted with methanol-acetonitrile-0.05% formic acid, the flow rate was 0.8 mL x min(-1), and the wavelength was 275 nm. The samples were processed by the solid phase extraction method. After oral administration of Shaoling Xiaoyin tablets, the rat bloods were collected at different time points to determine the blood concentrations. The experimental results showed that the baseline separation could be adopted for the five components, and astilbin, peoniflorin, rasmarinci acid, isofraxidin and liquiritin showed good linear relations within ranges of 2.48-248, 0.213 6-21.36, 0.531-53.1, 0.704-70.4, 0.253-25.3 mg x L(-1). All the five components could be absorbed in blood and excreted quickly. The method established in this paper is rapid and accurate, and could be used for in vivo analysis on preparations containing similar components. The main components in Shaoling Xiaoyin tablets could be absorbed and excreted quickly, and thus suitable to be made into sustained release tablets. Common preparations are required to be taken for 4-6 times a day.

Abstract: In order to investigate the feasibility of the extract from Cyclocarya paliurus as an additive in cigarettes, the volatile aromatic components were analyzed by gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS), and C.paliurus extract was pyrolyzed to simulate cigarette smoking by TGA-GC/MS. The cracking products of C.paliurus were analyzed in a nitrogen environment, and the possible cracking mechanism of the products was reasonably speculated. The results showed that aldehydes, alcohols, and ketones were the primary volatile aroma components of the C.paliurus extract, comprising 62.28% of the total aroma components. The cracking products of C.paliurus extract varied greatly under different temperature conditions. A total of 79 compounds were identified at 200,360, and 440 ℃, among which 24 aromatic components were clearly identified as having significant effects on cigarette style, including aldehydes, ketones, alcohols, phenols, furans, benzene series, and other natural aromatic substances. Among them, phenols containing a high concentration are mainly formed by compounds containing the structure of guaiacol unit and eugenol unit by side chain cleavage, demethylation, demethoxylation, dehydration, etc. Furan and its derivatives are mainly formed by glycosides or glycoside compounds by breaking glucoside bonds and dehydration.

The continuous cultivation of Rehmannia glutinosa causes the accumulation of phenolic acids in soil. It is supposed to be the reason of the so called "continuously cropping obstacle". In this study, phenolic acids (hydroxybenzoic acid, vanillic acid, eugenol, vanillin and ferulic acid) were degraded by the extracta of all the tested spent mushroom substrate (SMS) and the maximal degradation rate was 75.3%, contributed by extraction of SMS of Pleurotus eryngii. Pot experiment indicated that hydroxybenzoic acid and vanillin in soil were also degraded effectively by SMS of P. eryngii. The employment of SMS enhanced ecophysiology index to near the normal levels, such as crown width, leaves number, leaf length, leaf width and height. At the same time, the fresh and dry weight and total catalpol concentration of tuberous root weight of R. glutinosa was increased to 2.70, 3.66, 2.25 times by employment of SMS, respectively. The increase of bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes numbers in rhizosphere soil were observed after the employment of SMS by microbial counts. The employment of SMS also enhanced the enzyme activity in soils, such as sucrase, cellulase, phosphalase, urease and catelase. These results indicated that the employment of SMS alleviated the continuously cropping obstacle of R. glutinosa in some extent.

9.The function of glutathione/glutathione peroxidase system in the oxidative stress resistance systems of microbial cells.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2007;23(5):770-775
The physiological roles of the glutathione(GSH)/glutathione peroxidase(GPx) system in protecting microbial cells against oxidative stress were reviewed. In eukaryotic model microbe Saccharomyces cerevisiae, this system is obligatory in maintaining the redox balance and defending the oxidative stress. However, the GSH/GPx system only conditionally exists in prokaryotes. Namely, for those prokaryote bacteria containing glutathione reductase and GPx, e.g. Haemophilus influenzae and Lactococcus lactis, by taking up GSH, they might develop a conditional GSH-dependent GPx reduction system, which conferred cells a stronger resistance against oxidative challenge.

Objective To investigate the distribution of critical values of adults in Beijing, to provide the evidence for the formulation of the Standardized Management Guideline in Critical Values, in order to promote the accurate management of critical values. Methods A total of 110 398 data of critical values from the tertiary and above medical institutions during January 1 to May 31 in 2015 in Beijing were collected by the way of on-site inspection, covering the disciplines of hematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation and blood gas analysis.Fristly, the selected critical values were classified by the factor of admission departments and disease types, then were analyzed by using Kruskal-Wallis test, to compare the differences in each group.Secondly, the combined groups were classified by the factor of gender then were analyzed by using Mann-Whithey U test, to compare the differences in each group. Finally, the stratification thresholds of critical values were established. Results Except for the upper limits of Ca, pH, pCO2, Hb and the lower limits of Glu, pH, the rest of thresholds of critical values had significant differences due to different admission departments and disease types and/or gender. Conclusion Depending on the different admission departmentsces disease types and/or gender, hierarchical limit values on each critical value were formulated.
