Objective To investigate the effects of intramuscular injection through painless point which is confirmed by triangle positioning for gluteus medits muscle and connection method for gluteus maximus muscle. Methods 1200 outpatients requiring intramuscular injection were randomly divided into control group (n = 600) and experimental group (n = 600), the former group was injected with traditional positioning method, while the latter one was injected with joint poeitioning method. The pain grades of both groups were compared. Results The pain grades of the control group were higher than that of the experimental group (P <0.01). Conclusions Painless point joint positioning for hip muscles injection could greatly reduce patients' pain, and as a simple-operational positioning method, it has good clinic application value.
