The structure, reaction mechanism and molecular biology of Leuconostoc mesnteroides dextransucrase are reviewed.

Objective To explore the effects of donor dendritic cells(DC)treated with Ad-IL- 12p35siRNA on the survival of allogragft recipients.Methods The recombinant adenoviral vectors carrying IL-12p35siRNA and HKsiRNA were transfected into bone marrow derived DC of BALB/C murine.C57BL/6 recipients were infused with DG(Ad-IL-12p35siRNA DC,Ad-HKsiRNA DC and control DC)from BALB/C donors 7 days before cardiac allograft,the survival time of murine and the change of T_H 1 and T_H2(IL-2,IL-4,IL-10 and IFN-?)cytokine were observed.Results The survival time of p35 group(20.17?2.71)days was longer than that of control group(7.81?1.61)days and HK group(7.17?1.60)days.The concentration of IL-2 and IFN-?in p35 group were significantly lower than those of control group and HK group,otherwise were the concentration of IL-4 and IL-10. Conclusion Pretreatment of dondor dendritic ceils with Ad-IL-12p35siRNA could prolonged cardiac allograft survival in recipicents.

Objective To compare the effecacy and safety of lower dose peginterferon alfa-2b plus ribavirin versus standard interferon alfa-2b plus ribavirin for treatment of chronic hepatitis C in China.Methods 192 patients with chronic hepatitis C were assigned peginterferon alfa-2b 0.5?g/kg each week plus ribavirin 750～1050 mg/d or standard interferon alfa-2b 3 MIU TIW plus ribavirin 750～1050 mg/d for 48-week treatment and 24-week fellow-up.Results The sustained virological response (SVR)rate in lowe-dose peginterferon alfa-2b plus ribavirin group was 53.8%,and the SVR rate in standard interferon alfa-2b plus ribavirin was 58.1%.The SVR was similar between the two treat- ment group(P=0.966 for both comparisons).The adverse event rate was higher in peginterferon al- fa-2b plus ribavirin group than in standard interferon alfa-2b plus ribavirin group(P=0.033 for both comparisons),but there was no new or unique adverse event in related to pegylation of interferon alfa-2b. Conclusion The effecacy and safety was similar between lower-dose peginterferon alfa-2b plus ribavirin and standard interferon alfa-2b plus ribavirin for treatment of chronic hepatitis C.

Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics of patients suffering from autoimmune hemolytic anemia(AIHA) associated with acute kidney injury (AKI).Methods The clinical data of 2 case patients with AIHA and AKI in the People's Hospital of Huadu District of Guangzhou was analyzed and associated literatures were reviewed.Results Two patients presented with severe anemia,raised reticulocyte count,positive Coomb's test,and acute renal failure.They were no effect therapy when treatment with agent of erythropoietin (EPO),iron or folic acid.The level of serum indirect bilirubin was at normal range.Liver function and serum LDH were normal too.However,treatment with corticosteroids was effective.Conclusion When patients suffering AKI occur worsening anemia,AIHA probably should be concerned.Treatment with corticosteroids early is effective.

Objective To find out the distribution characteristics of drinking water with high arsenic in Dali Prefecture, Yunnan. Methods General investigation plus sampling survey was adopted in the city of Dali and 11 counties. The arsenic content in water was tested by half-quantitative fast reagent-box method. The water samples exceeding the standard(≥0.03 mg/L) were re-tested by silver diethyldithiocarbamate eolorimetric method or mercury-atomic fluorescence spectrometric method. Population and children exposed by high-arsenic were statistically analyzed. Results Arsenic content in 15 180 samples from 2639 villages are screened, of which 14 976 samples were less than 0.01 mg/L, reaching 98.66% (14 976/15 180); 110 samples was no less than 0.05 mg/L, only accounting for 0.72%(110/15 180). Water sources with excessive arsenic was found in 29 villages, in a percentage of 1.1% of all covered villages(29/2639). The samples were constituted of 10 399 portions of well water(well was less than 10 m deep), 3903 from spring, 93 from river water, 69 from hot spring water, 26 from reservoir water and 690 from surface water. And for the samples which arsenic content were ≥0.05 mg/L, 89 samples(0.86%, 89/10 399) were from well water, 15 from spring water(0.38%, 15/3903) and 6 from spring water(8.70%, 6/69). A total of 1 561 553 individuals were investigated, in a percentage of 67.83%(1 561 553/2 302 156) of the whole population, among those 420 513 were children, rating 26.93% of the investigated population(420 513/1 561 553); 27 865 were exposed to arsenic, accounting for 1.78% of the investigated population 27 865/1 561 553; 8993 children were exposed, rating 2.14% of the investigated population(8993/420 513). Conclusions There exists high-arsenic water resources in Dali Prefecture, Yunan, so the local inhabitants are in the danger of high-arsenic exposure. Urgent attention shall be paid for the endemic arsenic including investigation, prevention and control.

Objective To study the safety and efficacy of transhepatic arterial infusion embolization using microspheres combined with lipiodol for treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods Transhepatic arterial chemoembolization(TACE)was performed with 1-2 ml 300-500?m mierospheres and 10-20 ml lipiodol for treatment of HCC.Changes of liver function,AFP,responses of tumor and complications related to embolization were analyzed before and after TACE.Results Thirty six patients with HCC were enrolled into this study.After TACE,patients' liver function got worsen and tumor size decreased significantly(P＜0.05).Conclusion TACE with use of microspheres combined with lipiodol is an effective treatment for HCC,but should be taken carefully to avoid hepatic failure.
