Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2002;8(11):694-695
ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of speech therapy on mental health of patients with aphasia. MethodsCRRCAE and SCL-90 were used to assess the speech and mental state in 28 aphasia patients. All aphasia patients were treated by using speech therapy and the changes before and after treatment were compared. ResultsThe scores in listening comprehension, repetition, naming, reading, reading comprehension, writing and counting were distinctly higher at post-treatment than that at pre-treatment. All SCL-90 factor's levels at post-treatment were distinctly reduced than that at preat post-treatment(P<0.01).Conclusions Speech therapy can improve the language function,as well as mitigate the mental symptoms.

Objective To study the life quality of 2 - 3 years old survivors in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Methods Severe neonates were randomly assigned to intervention group (group 1,30 cases) and non- intervention group (group 2,30 cases) depending on the early intervention applied or not,as well as 30 healthy newborns as normal controls. The physical, neurological conditions and intelligence test were taken regularly. To investigate the psychological state, actions, temperament and family conditions when they were2-3 years old. Results Mental development index(MDI) and physical development index(PDI) in early interventional group were significant higher than those in group 2(P

Objective To investigate the fluctuation of the iodine deficiency disorders(IDD) through continuous monitoring on it. Methods During 2005-2008, 10 monitoring countis (city, district) of IDD were selected in Jiangxi Province. Five townships were selected in each monitoring county, one school was selected in each townships, and 40 students in 8-10 years old from each school were selected to inspect their thyroid glands and determined the idodine content of salts from their home. Among the 40 students, 20 of which were selected to determine the intelligence quotient(IQ) and 6 of which were selected to determine urine iodine. Thirty pregnant women were also selected to determine the urine iodine in each monitoring county. Twenty students of 5th grade in each school and 5 housewives living nearby the school were selected to carry out the questionnaire survey of health education about IDD. Results Monitoring results showed the average goiter rote of 8-10 years old students was between 2.00% and 4.60% during 2005-2008. The rate of IQ of the students higher than 90 was all above 76% each year. The median of urine iodine of students and pregnant women was higher than 100 μg/L, and the proportion of people whose urine iodine content was lower than 50 μg/L was below 4% each year. The rate of inhabitant taking qualified idodine salt wasn't lower than 95%. The pass rate of the questionnaire survey of health education about IDD was between 11.67% and 43.50% in students and 92.50%-99.60% in housewives. Conclusions The situation of iodine deficiency in Jiangxi Province has been greatly improved, reaching the standard of eliminating IDD.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2002;22(5):337-340
OBJECTIVETo investigate the relationship between chronic pyelonephritis (CPN) and immune function, and the therapeutic mechanism of Yishenkang granule (YSKG).
METHODSOne hundred and twenty patients of CPN were divided into 3 groups randomly, the YSKG group (treated with YSKG), the control A group (treated with Sanjin tablet) and the control B group (treated with western medicine). Serum levels of immunoglobulin (Ig), complement 3 (C3), interleukin-2 (IL-2), peripheral T-lymphocyte subsets, and urinary secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA) were determined before and after treatment with monoclonal antibody assay, agar diffusion method, radioimmunoassay (RIA), and radioimmuno-equilibrium method, and compared with normal control.
RESULTSThere were disorders of T-lymphocyte subsets in CPN, lowering of serum Ig, C3 and urinary sIgA, and increase of blood IL-2 (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). These abnormalities could be normalized after YSKG treatment.
CONCLUSIONFunctional disorders of cellular and humoral immunity exist in CPN patients of chronic stage, YSKG could correct the immune functional disorder, control the recurrence of CPN effectively and alleviate the immunopathological damage.

Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciences 2011;40(4):440-445
NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptors are a subtype of glutamate receptor, and play an important role in both synaptic transmission and synaptic plasticity. When excessively excited, NMDA receptors can cause cell death in many neuropathological scenarios such as OGD (oxygen and glucose deprivation) and brain injury. However, recent studies have revealed that under the physical and some pathological conditions, NMDA receptor could promote neuronal survival and protect neurons from damage.

Objective To study the relationship between the OATP1B1 521T > C genetic polymorphism and essential hypertension. Methods 164 essential hypertension subjects and 159 normotensive subjects were detected by the TaqMan-MGB probe real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR,and the results were compared with those of DNA sequencing. Results The frequencies of T/C genotype and C allele of OATP1B1 521T > C gene of the essential hypertension subjects were obviously lower than those of the normotensive subjects(T/C genotype:0.16 vs 0.25,P <0.05 ;C allele:0.10 vs 0.17,P <0.05),The difference was significant.Binary logistic stepwise regression analysis was used for evaluatine the risk factors of essential hypertension, there was significant relationship between OATP1 B1 52IT > C gene polymorphism and essential hypertension. Conclusion The SLCO1 B1 521T > C variant was common in Chinese essential hypertension population, but the difference of frequency of SLCO1B1 52IT > Cmuton between the essential hypertension patients and the normotensive controls was of obviously statistical significance, which indicates that the SLCO1B1521T > C variant maybe associate with essential hypertension.

Objective To investigate effects of emergent percutaneous coronary intervention(EPCI)on the prognosis of patients with cardiac arrest(CA)and cardiopulmonary resuscitation after acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods Thirty-two patients with CA and carcliopulmonary resuscitation after AMI were retrospectively reviewed and divided into EPCI group(n=12)and eonservative treatment group(n=20).EPCI was used during or after primary eardiopulmonary resuscitation in EPCI group but not in conservative treatment group.Mortality and occurrence rates of severe arrhythmia,of heart failure,of cardiac shock and of severe bleeding in hospital were compared between the two groups. Results The mortality in hospital was 17% in EPCI group and 70% in conservative treatment group,respectively(P<0.001).Heart failure was developed in 3 patients from EPCI group and 16 patients from conservative treatment group,respectively(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in severe arrhythmia, cardiac shock and severe bleeding between two groups(P>0.05).Logistic regression showed that EPCI decreased mortality but the prolonged cardiopulmonary resuscitation(>20 min)increased the mortality. Conclusion Early EPCI might improve the prognosis of patients with cardiac arrest and cardiopulmonary resuscitation after acute myocardial infarction.
