4.Therapeutic effect of Xiaoke Huayu tablet on impaired glucose tolerance

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of Xiaoke Huayu tablet on impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). Methods 168 patients who were proved to have IGT were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group (n=86) and control group (n=82). All the patients were asked to take abstinent diet with proper athletic exercises. The patients in the treatment group were treated with Xiaoke Huayu tablet. No drug was given to patients of the control group. The therapeutic effect and data of laboratory findings before and after treatment in both groups were analyzed and compared. Remaining organic and functional damage of ischemia cardio-cerebrovascular disease is always a main trouble puzzling the clinicians. After the discovery of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs), researchers realize that postnatal angiogenesis is an important biological process, which play a key role to repair the ischemia tissue and improve the function. So a new concept which names therapeutic angiogenesis supply a new treament way for the ischemia cardio-cerebrovascular disease. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has accumulated rich experience on treating the ischemia disease, studies found that many Chinese medicine prescriptions and effective ingredients can increase the therapeutic angiogenesis, howerer the mechanisms were not the same, they mainly manifest in regular the secretion of angiogenic factors, increase the proliferation and differentiation etc. In this paper, we review recent studies, summary the Chinese medicine prescriptions and effective ingredients which can increase the therapeutic angiogenesis, and analyze the differernt pathway. We view to provide reference for the later researchers.

8.Comparison of clinical features and prognosis of patients with severe traumatic brain injury among different age groups

Objective To investigate the influence of age on clinical features and prognosis of severe traumatic brain injury.Methods A total of 135 patients with severe traumatic brain injury were divided into four groups according to age:the juvenile group (<18 years,15 cases),the young adult group (18 44 years,77 cases),the middle aged group (45 59 years,37 cases) and the elderly group (>60 years,6 cases).Neurological functions were assessed by the Disability Rating Scale (DRS),the Mini-Mental Status Examination (MMSE),the Fugl-Meyer motor scale (FM) and the Modified Barthel Index (MBI).All the patients were followed up with DRS evaluation 1 4 years after discharge from the hospital.Results MMSE scores decreased with age,with statistically significant differences between the elderly group and the juvenile group,the young adult group and the middle aged group,respectively [(11.0±5.2) vs (21.5±8.1),(21.4±8.0) and (19.1±8.1),respectively; t=2.663、2.825、2.561,P=0.015,0.006,0.022,respectively].Similarly,when compared with the other groups,the elderly group also showed statistically significant differences in follow-up DRS scores [(12.8±6.1) vs.(4.3±3.6),(6.7±5.0) and (7.8±6.9),respectively; t=-2.382、-2.587、-2.385,P =0.040,0.013 and 0.038,respectively]; and the DRS score differentials [(2.3±4.6) vs.(6.2±4.3),(6.7±3.1) and (4.6±3.1); t=2.366、2.242、2.626,P =0.004,0.013 and 0.009,respectively].Conclusions Age may be one of the factors that affect cognitive functions and prognosis associated with traumatic brain injury,and the prognosis for elderly patients is generally unfavorable.
9.The Exploration of the standardized model of training and assessment for employees in blood services

Objective To standardize the job training and improve the basic professional quality and induction ability of practitioners in Blood Services by setting up job training assessment standardized model.Methods Using the standardize model to carry out the application of standardized model of job training assessment for the practitioners in Blood Services.July 2016-June 2017,focusing on the standardize training materials and training standards to carry out the centralized training,establishing a unified teacher library of the province and the centralized training will be taught by those teachers,evaluating result by standardize theoretical test and the conformity standard,then evaluating and supervising the assessment results.Results 356 practitioners participated in centralized training,379 practitioners participated in the theoretical test,and 339 practitioners were qualified of the actual operation during these two years.The total qualified rate is 89.4%.There was no significant difference in the qualified rate between two years (P>0.05).Among them,the qualified rate of category Ⅰ personnel was 85.1%,category Ⅱ personnel was 98.7%,category Ⅲ personnel was 94.8%,and the qualified rate of category Ⅱand Ⅲ was higher than that of category Ⅰ (P<0.05).Conclusion Through the application of the standardized model to promote the standardization of education and training resource standard,and carry on standardized training evaluation as well as strictly grasp the examination and evaluation standards,it will be conducive to improving the quality of education and training,will also be conducive to improving the professional quality of employees and supply institutions.
10.Effect of TGF-β1 on epithelial-mesenchymal transition of rat peritoneal mesothelial cells and its mechanism

Objective To explore the effect of transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) on epithelial-mesenchymal transition in rat peritoneal mesothelial cells(RPMCs) and its mechanism.Methods Primary peritoneal mesothelial cells of SP rats were cultured in vitro. After synchronization for 24 h, RPMCs were randomly divided into 2 groups: Group A (control), Group B (TGF-β1, 10 μg/L). RPMCs were stimulated by 10 μg/L TGF-β1 for different time. The mRNA and protein expression levels of E-cadherin, α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and collagenⅠwere measured by RT-PCR and Western blot, respectively. The protein expression level of total RhoA was measured by Western blot. Active RhoA was extracted by Plasma Membrane Protein Extraction Kit, and assessed by Western blot. Results TGF-β1 down-regulated mRNA and protein expression of E-cadherin in RPMCs, and upregulated mRNA and protein expression of α-SMA and CollagenⅠ. TGF-β1 stimulation elicited a robust increase in RhoA activity in a time-dependent manner. RhoA activity peaked at 1 h.Conclusion RPMCs can be transdifferentiated into myofibroblast under the effect of TGF-(β1,)and the mechanism may be related to the activation of RhoA associated signal pathway.
