International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2015;(1):5-7
Objective To explore the optimal immunohistochemical (IHC)diagnostic index for supraclavicular lymph node me-tastasis in lung cancer. Methods In the premise of conforming to the evidence-based medicine, the biopsy of lymph node in 135 pa-tients with supraclavicular lymph node metastasis was performed and 7 antibodies were selected to be detected.135 cases were di-vided into two classes:class A (110 cases)and B (25 cases). The class A included 14 cases of primary lesion inside the lung by the histological analysis,43 cases of primary lesion inside the lung by the cytological detection and 53.cases of primary lesion inside the lung by the radiographic analysis. The class B included 25 cases of lesion outside the lung by the histological analysis. The detecting antibodies included CK7,CK20,EMA,CEA,TTF-1,SPB and vimentin. Results The sensitivity and specificity of single antibody for deducing the primary lesion inside the lung were 90.0% and 56.0% for CK7,98.0% and 40.0% for CK20,90.9% and 4.0%for EMA,80.9% and 36.0% for CEA,62.7% and 100.0% for TTF-1,65.6% and 100.0% for SPB,and 60.9% and 60.0% for vimentin. The quadruple antibodies (CK7,CK20,TTF-1 and SPB)showed the highest sensitivity(85.0%)and highest specificity (100.0%),which made the relatively high detection rate (80.0%)of lung cancer in clinic. Conclusion Analyzing and researching the IMC results is of great significance to guide the surgical pathological practice based on the evidence-based medicine.

Objective To investigate the expression and significances of DPP-4 and IL-6 in febrile seizures(FS).Methods FS were induced in Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats at P14 in a hot water bath by using classical model of hyperthermia-induced seizures.A genome-wide microarray experiment was generated in the rats. The relationship between the differentially expressed genes were analyzed by the method of bioinformatics, and the gene and protein levels of DPP-4 and IL-6 were detected by QPCR,WB and ELISA.Selected 50 children with FS(FS group) and 25 healthy children(control group), and to compare the gene and protein levels of DPP-4 and IL-6 between the two groups. Results Interaction network diagram of differential gene expression showed that there may be interactions between DPP-4 and IL-6.Animal and clinical experiments showed that the DPP-4 and IL-6 gene and protein levels were significantly higher in FS group compared with control group(P<0.05).Conclusion There were high gene and protein expressions of DPP-4 and IL-6 in the FS group compared with the control group. These results indicated that immune and inflammations may play an important role in the FS, and it has provided an attractive pharmacological target for the treatment of FS in clinic.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(4):910-934
In this study, a closed-loop controller for chest compression which adjusts chest compression depth according to the coronary perfusion pressure (CPP) was proposed. An effective and personalized chest compression method for automatic mechanical compression devices was provided, and the traditional and uniform chest compression standard neglecting individual difference was improved. This study rebuilds Charles F. Babbs human circulation model with CPP simulation module and proposes a closed-loop controller based on a fuzzy control algorithm. The performance of the fuzzy controller was evaluated and compared to that of a traditional PID controller in computer simulation studies. The simulation results demonstrated that the fuzzy closed-loop controller produced shorter regulation time, fewer oscillations and smaller overshoot than those of the traditional PID controller and outperforms the traditional PID controller in CPP regulation and maintenance.

BACKGROUND: Extended high frequency audiometry is able to detect early cochlea damage. So it is useful in monitoring ototoxic, senile and noise induced hearing loss.OBJECTIVE: To study with extended high frequency audiometry the auditory function of people in highland of qinghai province without noise pollution and evaluate the sensitivity of this method in diagnosing early noise induced hearing loss. To provide the epidemiological data for early control of noise induced hearing loss in this area.DESIGN:It is a transverse comparison among normal people in two areas.SETTING: This study was cooperated by the Otolaryngeal Department of Gulou Hospital affiliated to Nanjing Medical College, the Otolaryngeal Department of Xijing Hospital of the Fourth Medical College and Auditory Research Center of Giessen University, Germany.PARTICIPANTS: Totally 300 people lived in highland of qinghai province received hearing test including extended high frequency audiometry. At the same time another 300 people were chosen in Nanjing city as control group.METHODS: The subjects in the two groups received the whole set of hearing tests including extended high frequency audiometry and answered a questionnaire about their personal history. The mean hearing thresholds from 0. 25-16 kHz between the two groups were compared with t-test.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The difference of mean hearing thresholds from 0. 25-16 kHz between the two groups.RESULTS: There was no significant difference between hearing threshold of low frequencies and speech frequencies. The hearing threshold of high frequencies rose with the stepping-up of testing frequencies which made the possibility of measuring the hearing threshold reduced. But the hearing threshold above 6 kHz of the people in area without noise pollution was significantly higher than that of the control( P < 0.05) . No difference between children and adolescence was found in the 2 groups. The epidemiological data revealed that the people without noise pollution had unperceptible hearing damage compared with the control group.CONCLUSION: The damage of impulsive noise to hearing began at 20 kHz and developed from 20 kHz to 10 kHz. If it was not protected, it would be extended to the speech frequencies and the hearing loss would get worse. So the extended high frequency audiometry was thought helpful to screen noise induced hearing loss early.

Methods: N-ras/61 gene was inserted into P1108 and transfected into CV-1 cell infected with vaccinia virus by Cell FECTIN. PCR and Western blot were used to identify the recombinants. Results: We get recombinant vaccinia virus rV-N-ras/61 by PCR and tk- selecting. The expression of N-ras gene was detected by Western blot. Conclusion: This study is a test for studing effective vaccine of mutant N-ras/61 gene. The efficacy in vivo of the N-ras/61 vaccine in immunotherapy is under investgation.

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of MR spectroscopy in intracranial neoplasm. Methods 52 cases with brain neoplasm or recurrent neoplasm or non-tumor lesion confirmed by pathology were undergone proton MRS before stereotactic biopsy, or operation. Results Of 52 cases, 38 were neoplasm and 14 were nonneoplastic lesion, 34 of 38 brain tumor, 11 of 14 nonneoplastic lesion were diagnosed correctly. The characteristics on MRS of glioma were remarkable Cho increase and NAA decrease, Lac in the tumors and the central necrotic area was elevated. Metastasis: Cho increased,NAA disappeared or obviously decreased and Lac increased, but the peritumoral region was normal. Lymphoma: Cho increased, NAA decreased moderately, Lip presented, but the peritumoral region was normal. Demyelination lesion: slight or median decreased NAA and normal Cr, Lac increased slightly. All metabolism decreased or disappeared in radiation necrosis, Cho was relative high compared with NAA. Brain abscess: Lac increased in the centre of abscess and perilesion was normal. Conclusion MRS has significant value in detecting and differentiating brain lesions.
