Objective To explore the clinical value of prenatal ultrasonography in the differentiation among the etiologies of fetal megacystis. Methods Twenty seven fetuses, diagnosed as fetal megacystis by prenatal ultrasonography, were retrospectively analyzed. The etiologies of fetal megacystis were presumed by such characteristics as keyhole sign, thickness of the bladder wall, amniotic fluid index, fetal sex and other combined signs. All fetuses were followed up until to the induction of labor or birth. Results Twenty seven singleton fetuses (19 males and 8 females) were diagnosed as megacystis.According to the characteristics and other combined signs,8 cases of posterior urethral valves (PUV),1 of prune belly syndrome(PBS),1 of megacystis-microcolon intestinal hypoperistalsis syndrome(MMIHS),1 of urethral atresia and 5 of chromosomal abnormality were presumed by prenatal ultrasound.Multiple malformations were found in 5 fetuses and there were also 6 fetuses with unknown reason originally.Among the 27 fetuses,21 were induced labor and 6 continued pregnancy to birth.Except for the 6 cases of unknown reason, etiologies of 17 fetuses with megacystis were confirmed by autopsy, genetic tests, surgery or further examination after birth. The accuracy rate of prenatal ultrasonography in the differentiation among the etiologies of fetal megacystis was 80.95% (17/21).Conclusions On the basis of detailed prenatal ultrasonography and typical characteristics,it is reliable to differentiate the etiologies of fetal megacystis.Sometimes fetal megacystis may be one part of multiple malformations or complex syndrome, such as VACTERL syndrome. However,it is difficult for ultrasonography to diagnose vesicoureteral reflux(VUR)prenatally.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect and mechanism of valsartan and felodipine extended release tablets (Plendil) on a novel salt-sensitive hypertensive rat induced by sensory denervation.
METHODSNewborn Wistar rats were given 50 mg/kg capsaicin subcutaneously on the 1st and 2nd day of life. Control rats were treated with vehicle solution (10%ethanol, 10%Tween 80 in saline). After weanling period (3 weeks), male rats were divided into 5 groups and subject to the following treatment for 4 weeks: control + high salt diet (4%, CON-HS), capsaicin + normal salt diet (0.5%, CAP-NS), capsaicin + high salt diet (CAP-HS), capsaicin + high salt diet + Valsartan (30 mg/kg per day, by orally) (CAP-HS-VAL), capsaicin + high salt diet + Plendil (30 mg/kg per day, by orally) (CAP-HS-PLE). Tail-cuff systolic blood pressure, body weight, intralymphocytic [Ca(2+)](i), plasma calcitonin gene-related peptide concentration ([CGRP]), angiotensin II concentration ([AngII]) and 24 hour water intake, urinary volume, urinary Na(+) and K(+) concentrations were examined.
RESULTSTail-cuff systolic blood pressure and intralymphocytic [Ca(2+)](i) were lower in CAP-HS-VAL or CAP-HS-PLE group than those in CAP-HS group. Plasma [AngII] were higher in CAP-HS-VAL group than that in other groups. Tail-cuff systolic blood pressure were lower in CAP-HS-VAL group than that in CAP-HS-PLE group. Intralymphocytic [Ca(2+)](i) were lower in CAP-HS-PLE group than that in CAP-HS-VAL group. The 24 hour urine sodium excretion was higher in CAP-HS-PLE group than that in CAP-HS or CAP-HS-VAL group.
CONCLUSIONValsartan or Plendil could prevent the development of salt-sensitive hypertension induced by sensory denervation and the overloading of intracellular [Ca(2+)](i), which indicated that salt-sensitive hypertension induced by sensory nerve degeneration might be related to renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) and the over loading intracellular [Ca(2+)](i), and might be more closely to RAAS.

To evaluate the use of allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (allo-PBSCT) for treatment of acute and chronic leukemia, from March 1997 to January 2003, 21 adult patients with malignant hematopoietic diseases underwent allo-PBSCT from HLA-identical siblings (19 patients) and haplo-identical mother (one) and one B point site mismatched sibling (one). All donors were mobilized with G-CSF for 4 days and peripheral blood stem cells were collected by CS-3000 separator. The conditioning regimen included the high dose combination chemotherapy and TBI. Cyclosporine-A (CsA) plus a short course of MTX was used for GVHD prophylaxis in all patients. The results showed that after trans plantation, median time for the recovery of granuocyte > or = 0.5 x 10(9)/L and platelets > or = 20 x 10(9)/L were 12 (10 - 20) and 15 (11 - 35) days, respectively. Acute GVHD was observed in 8/17 patients (47%), of which one transplanted from HLA-haploidentical mother. Chronic GVHD occurred in 12/17 patients (70%). All of four female survivals did not show acute and chronic GVHD. Day 100 transplantation-related mortality was 14% (3/21). Relapse occurred in two patients (9.5%) who underwent allo-PBSCT in stage of non-remission at one and six months. After follow-up of 40 (15 - 70) months, 11 patients (52.4%) are still disease-free survival. These results suggested that peripheral blood stem cells produce a faster hematopoietic recovery and a lower relapse of leukemia. The rate of aGVHD is not increased when using the peripheral blood as source of stem cells; however, cGVHD continues to be a significant problem. Donors tolerated the procurement procedure without complications.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the relationship between Duffy antigen receptor for chemokines (DARC) and the metastasis potential in human breast cancer. METHODS Breast cancer tissue sections from 75 patients, grouped according to the local lymph node status were examined immunohistochemically for protein level of DARC. Microvessel density (MVD) was counted by endothelial cells immunostained using anti-CD34 antibody.
RESULTSStrong positive DARC immunostaining in lymph node negative and positive groups was detected in 31 cases (81.6%) and 18 cases (48.6%), respectively (P < 0.01). MVD was (35.67 +/- 17.96)/HP and (53.38 +/- 20.29)/HP in DARC strong positive and less positive cases (P < 0.01). In those patients with lung, bone, hepatic distant metastasis (13 cases), 9 cases (69.2%) were DARC less positive, 4 cases (30.8%) were DARC strong positive. The correlation coefficient was -0.412 between DARC expression and MVD and the corresponding value was -0.346 between DARC expression and lymph node status and -0.333 between DARC expression and distant metastasis in breast cancer.
CONCLUSIONDARC may play a negative role in the process of neoangiogenesis, and probably has an association with the lymph node status.

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of extracts of root of kudzu vine on mammary gland and uterus development in rats.
METHOD40 Wistar rats weighting 65-85 g were randomly divided into 4 groups: control group, estrogen group, extracts of root of kudzu vine group of high dose, extracts of root of kudzu vine group of low dose. (10 rats in each group). After having been treated for 7 days, the rats were killed; mammary glands and uterus were removed and weighed. Serum was isolated and kept at 4 degrees C for determination of hormones.
RESULT1. Administration of the root of kudzu vine significantly increased the weigh of mammary gland and uterus in rats. 2. Administration of the root of kudzu vine increased serum FSH, LH, E2 and decreased PRL.
CONCLUSIONExtracts of root of kudzu vine could enhance the weight of mammary gland and uterus growth in rats, which may provide experimental evidence for the development of new drug used for promoting mammary gland and uterus.

This study was purposed to investigate the effects of interferon (IFN)-γ on expression of adhesion molecules in mesenchymal stromal cells derived from human umbilical cord tissue (UC-MSC). The UC-MSC were isolated from human umbilical cord by tissue culture. The expressions of specific markers on UC-MSC were detected by flow cytometry in the physiological condition. The adipogenic and osteogenic induction of UC-MSC was detected by alizarin and Oil red O staining. UC-MSC were exposed to IFN-γ (100, 1 000, 10 000 U/ml) for 24 h, the expressions of CD54, CD58, CD44, CD49d, CD62p, CD62L, CD102 and CD106 on cell surface were detected using flow cytometry. The results showed that in physiological condition, UC-MSC extremely low expressed CD102, CD106, CD62P, CD62L, while the expression of CD54 was relatively high (41.58 ± 0.83)%. When stimulated by IFN-γ, the expression of CD102, CD106, CD62P, CD62L increased slightly, but still low (< 5%), while CD54 and CD58 upregulated concentration-dependently up to (59.66 ± 1.36)% and (43.96 ± 0.62)% respectively. The expression of CD49d upregulated to (51.33 ± 0.74)% when UC-MSC exposed to IFN-γ 100 U/ml. CD44 increased to (73.22 ± 1.93)% when UC-MSC exposed to IFN-γ 1 000 U/ml. It is concluded that IFN-γ can elevate significantly the expression of CD54, CD49d, CD44 and CD58, but has no significant effect on CD102, CD106, CD62P and CD62L expression on the surface of UC-MSC.

Chinese Journal of Disease Control & Prevention 2019;23(8):911-915,937
Objective The aim is to analyze the spatial epidemiological characteristics for human infection with avian influenza H7N9 in Fujian Province, so as to provide scientific evidence for developing and adjusting related control strategies. Methods The epidemiological data of human infection with H7N9 avian influenza in Fujian Province, from 2013 to 2017 was analyzed by SAS 9.2, ArcGIS 10.3 and SaTScan 9.4 software. Results There were a total of 108 cases and 28 deaths reported in Fujian Province, up to December 31, 2017. The case fatality rate was 25.93%.96.30% of cases were sporadic. There were more incidences in winters and springs, more incidences in rural areas. The global spatial autocorrelation and high/low clustering analysis indicated that clusters at the county level were in the shore areas (Z=3.74, P<0.001; Z=5.26, P<0.001). The cities of Changle, Fuqing, Jinjiang and Siming were the high-high clustered areas and local hot-points. There were two clusters, from December 2014 to March 2015, the most likely cluster regions was centered around Zhangpu County with a radius of 63.04 km (RR=4.72, LLR=11.41, P<0.001). The secondary cluster regions was centered around Fuqing City with a radius of 81.98 km (RR=4.07, LLR=7.96, P=0.037). Conclusions Human infection with avian influenza H7N9 in Fujian Province is spatially and temporally clustered. The measures of prevention and control should be focused on high incidence seasons and key regions, and the surveillance of etiology should be strengthened.

Objective To detect the level of Serum and liver tissue TGF-β1 in patients with chronic hepatitis B, to study their relation to liver fibrosis and gain the evidence for diagnosis of liver fibrosis. Methods The liver fibrosis grades(S0-S4) of 131 cases with chronic HBV infection were diagnosed after liver biopsy. Serum TGF-β1 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the semiquantitative analysis was applied after detecting the expression of TGF-β1 in liver tissue with immunohistochemistry. Their relations to liver fibrosis were analyzed. Results Serum and tissue level of TGF-β1 increased significantly with the development of fibrosis, and the same result was obtained between themselves(P<0.01). There was very significant difference for Serum level of TGF-β1 among the groups with different fibrosis grades (P<0.01). Serum levels of TGF-β1 were decreased significantly comparing the Group S0 or S1 to S4(P<0.005). There were significant difference for Serum level of TGF-β1 among S0 and the others(P<0.005). And there was significant difference between S1 and S3(P<0.005) .The expression level of TGF-β1 in liver tissue has no significant difference between group S3 and S4 (P>0.05). However, the differences were significantly among the others comparisons(P<0.01). Conclusion There is close relation between the level of TGF-β1 and the different liver fibrosis grades due to chronic hepatitis B. The serum level of TGF-β1 is a potential noninvasive maker for diagnosis of liver fibrosis.

OBJECTIVETo study the expression of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) and its significance in premature infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD).
METHODSA retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 96 very low birth weight infants (gestational age of ≤ 32 weeks) who survived for more than 28 days and were admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit between January 2010 and December 2012. These subjects were divided into BPD group (n=21) and non-BPD group (n=75). The expression of TGF-β1 and PAI-1 in blood was measured by ELISA.
RESULTSThe levels of TGF-β1 and PAI-1 in the BPD group increased gradually from the 7th day to the 14th day and then to the 21st day after birth, and were significantly higher than in the non-BPD group at all time points (P<0.01). The TGF-β1 and PAI-1 levels in the non-BPD group on the 7th, 14th, and 21st days after birth were not significantly different from each other (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONSThe expression of TGF-β1 and PAI-1 in blood is elevated in premature infants with BPD, which may be associated with the development of BPD.
