Objective To investigate the different clinical features of metabolic syndrome(MS)in middle-aged and elderly patients. Methods Data were collected from 947 MS patients, for whom the diagnosis was established based on the Chinese criteria.Of them,679 were elderly people and 268 were in middle-age.Laboratory examination and medical history were analyzed.BMI,blood glucose, blood pressure(BP)and lipid profile were measured.Patients were divided into different groups according to age and sex. Results In the elderly group, the age of male and female patients was 81.5?6.5 and 74.5?8.8 years, respectively.BMI of elderly males were higher than that of middle-aged males(27.14?2.51 vs 25.98?2.38).All the elderly patients had higher systolic BP,but lower triglyceride level than that of the middle aged patients. In middle-aged group, female patients had higher high-density lipoprotein.Fasting blood glucose level in all the investigated subjects was correlated with postprandial glucose(for male R2=0.463,P

OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution and drug resistance of pathogens in urinary system infection.METHODS Collected from patients urine specimens of our hospital during Jan 2004 Dec 2008 were cultured, detected and studied drug resistance.RESULTS Among these pathogens,Escherichia coli rated the top one(44%),followed by coagulase negative Staphylococcus, fungi,Enterococcus,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Proteus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The Enterobacteriaceae were sensitive to imipenem(100%) and the Enterococcues and Staphytlococcus were sensitive to vancomycin(100%).But they all showed higher drug resistance to other antibiotics.CONCLUSIONS E.coli from urinary tract infection is the most common pathogen. In the treatment of urinary tract infection the commonly used drugs such as gentamicin, ciprofloxacin, etc, have produced a higher resistance.Clinician should pay attention to the changes in their drug resistance and use correctly.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the application of antibacterials in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)in our hospital.METHODS:A retrospective analysis was performed on 77 COPD inpatients with respect to the varieties of antibiotics,DDDs,drug costs, routes of administration, medication duration, combined use of antibiotics, therapeutic outcome, bacterial culture and susceptibility test, adverse drug reactions(ADR)and irrational drug use etc.RESULTS:100% of the patients received antibacterials.Topping the first five places on the DDDs list were levofloxacin,cefuroxime,amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium, ceftazidime and azithromycin. The combined use of two kinds of antibiotics accounted for 77.65% versus 2.35% of three kinds concomitantly.CONCLUSION:The use of antibacterials in COPD patients in our hospital is basically rational;however, the indications of antibacterials for COPD patients should be followed strictly toachieve rational and standard drug use.

Virologica Sinica 2008;23(3):167-172
Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is a novel nucleic acid amplification method, which amplifies DNA with high specificity, sensitivity, rapidity and efficiency under isothermal conditions using a set of four specially designed primers and a Bst DNA polymerase with strand displacement activity. The basic principle, characteristics, development of LAMP and its applications are summarized in this article.

Chinese Journal of Microbiology and Immunology 2009;29(2):156-159
Objective To investigate the altered expression of TLR4 in alveolar macrophages of diabetic rats after lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation and the effect of these changes on defending the infection. Methods Thirty-two male Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups, group A: the control group; group B: the diabetic group; group C: the LPS stimulated group; and group D: the diabetic group with LPS stimulation. TLR4 in alveolar macrophages were measured by immunocytochemistry, RT-PCR and Western blot analysis. Results The expressions of TLR4 in group B and group C were higher than that in group A (P < 0. 001). The expression of TLR4 in group D was obviously higher than that of group B and group C (P < 0.001). Conclusion The expression of TLR4 of diabetic rats was higher than that of normal rats and became more higher after LPS stimulation, which is indicated that diabetic bodies were in the proinflammatory state, the mechanism remains to be explored in detail.

Objective To confirm the influence on the path of signal transduction of ERK by BaiHui-QuBin Scalp-acupuncture in rats of experimental acute intercerebral hemorrhage. Methods 192 healthy Wistar male rats were selected by examination. The rats were assigned into 4 groups randomly:matched blank group, model group,pin-prick group, excitomotor group. The latter three groups contained 60 rats in each;another 12 rats were assigned as the matched blank group. All rats were made to be the intercerebral hemorrage model. The pinprick group was acupunc-tured on the BaihuipenetratingQubin. We observed the change surrounding the hamatoma of the proteinum expression of p-ERK of each group in deferent time phase point with the method of Western blot. Results All of the rats after being made model appeared the phenomenon of the expression of p-ERK of rat's brain tissue surrounding the hematoma and increased to the peak in 7 days.1 d, 2 d, 3 d, 7 d, compare with the model group [(0.10 ±0.04),(0.17 ±0.02),(0.09 ±0.05),(0.10 ±0.06)],the expressions of p-ERK of the pinprick group [(0.19 ±0.04),(0.23 ±0.07),(0.24 ±0.05),(0.25 ±0.06),q=11.45,P<0.01] and the excitomotor group's were higher obviously[(0.19 ±0.05),(0.20 ±0.05),(0.24 ±0.06),(0.25 ±0.09),(0.26 ±0.09),q=10.07, P<0.01].The pinprick group compared with the excitomotor set,the expressions of p-ERK showed no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion The therapy of BaiHui-QuBin Scalp-acupuncture can activate the path of signal transduction of ERK,increase the expression of the proteinum p-ERK and so on,which have the function of protecting the nerve cell.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(6):949-954
The blood-brain barrier (BBB) protects the brain against unwanted substances, while, at the same time, limits the transport of many drugs into the brain. Aromatic refreshing traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can induce resuscitation and modify the permeability of BBB, promoting other drugs entering into the brain with brain protection effect. This paper mainly reviews the research progress in regulation effects and mechanism of usual aromatic refreshing TCM, such as borneol, moschus, styrax, benzoinum and Tatarinow Sweetflag Rhizome, on BBB permeability. To broaden the application of these drugs in modern pharmaceutics in the future, the relatively research should emphasis on combining aromatic refreshing TCM with new formulations and technologies in pharmaceutics, providing novel promising strategies for brain diseases therapy.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1993;0(03):-
Objective To study the molecular mechanism of the remission in children with acute lymphocyte leukemia(ALL),as well as the expression of thyroid hormone receptor interacting protein 3(TRIP3) gene in children with ALL and explore the relationship between TRIP3 and ALL.Methods Fasting venous blood 2-4 mL was collected, anticoagulanted with ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA),then perpheral blood mononuclear cells was collected by Ficoll density gradient centrifugation, total RNA was extracted by Trizol one step method.Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was used to detect TRIP3 expression in peripheral blood lymphocytes in 73 ALL children of different stages and 20 normal children. The relationship between TRIR3 expression in children and ALL release was analyzed. Results 1.Expression of TRIP3 was significantly lower both after initial treatment and during recrudescence than that in normal children(Pa0.05).3.In children with ALL after initial treatment, the remission rate was significantly higher in TRIP3 positive patients than in TRIP3 negative ones(remission rate discern 25.0% vs 84.2%,P
