Objective To explore the value of color doppler ultrasonography by bed side in the early diagnosis of HIE in full term neonates. Methods The changes of cerebral parenchymal and cerebral arterial blood stream parameter on 35 cases of neonates clinically diagnosed HIE of mild and moderate degree and 40 cases of normal newborns on the 24,48 and 72 hours after birth were observed by color doppler ultrasonography by bed side. Results 1.The cerebral parenchyma was even echo in normal newborns, but it was maldistributed and reinforced in mild asphyxia neonates and it was more serious in moderate degree. The echo of cerebral parenchyma in mild degree was near normal in 48 hours after birth, while the echo of cerebral parenchyma in moderate degree was still maldistributed and reinforced in 48 and 72 hours after birth.2.There was obvious changes in the cerebral arterial blood stream parameter and hemodynamics of the asphyxia newborns compared with normals. The systolic peak velocity(Vs)and end diastolic velocity(Vd)of the cerebral arteries in mild and moderate degree were obviously lower than that of control group in 24,48 hours after birth(Pa0.05).3.Resistance index(RI)of the cerebral arteries in mild and moderate degree were higher than that of control group in 24,48 hours after birth(Pa0.05).Conclusion Color doppler ultrasonography by bed side is a convenient, noninvasive method for diagnosing HIE.

Chemical weapons(CW), as weapons of mass destruction on the battlefield , made their debut in the First World War of the last century .To achieve total prohibition on CW , the international community concluded the Chemical Weapons Convention(CWC)in 1993, and it came into force in 1997.So far, only seven countries have been outside the CWC.The offensive and defensive pattern of the world changed then , and the world began to enter the post-CW era.A chemical terrorist attack perspective is needed in consideration of chemical threats facing the world .This article summarizes the experience on specific chemical attacks , analyzes the possibility , sources, types and developments of a chemical terror-ist attack, and puts forward countermeasures for any possible chemical terrorist attack .

Objective To investigate the effects of estrogen on the expression of KLK6 mRNA and protein in human ovarian cancer cell line HO8910.Methods HO8910 cells were incubated for 72 hours in two groups:the test group with 17-?E_2 at different concentration(10~(-10)、10~(-9)、10~(-8)、10~(-7)mol/L)and the control group with Ethanol.Real-time fluorensence quantitive RT-PCR and flow cytometry were used to measured the expression of KLK6 mRNA and protein in the two groups. The cell proliferation was measured by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-z-yl)-2,5-dipheny tetrazolium blue(MTT)calorimetric assay, while the cell cycle was determined by flow cytometry. Results The expression ofKLK6 mRNA(3.83?0.41、4.14? 0.49、6.26?0.38、7.28?1.82)and protein(10.62?0.35,10.89?0.12、11.88?0.28、12.07?0.15) in the test group of H08910 cells(10~(-10)10~(-9)10~(-8)10~(-7)mol/L)was higher than that in the ethanol control group(P

In temporomandibular disorders (TMD), pain takes place when neuropeptides stimulate synovial tissue to produce several cytokines such as interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, which activate neurons and glia of synovial membrane at the bilaminar regions of temporomandibular joint (TMJ). It has been reported that, after neurogenic differentiation, the synovial mesenchymal stem cells (SMSCs), deriving from TMJ, possess the same cytological features as the neuronal cells. This study examined the ability of substance P (SP) and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) to stimulate SMSCs and neurogenic SMSCs secreting inflammatory cytokines during TMD, evaluated the mutual effects of inflammatory cytokines and neuropeptides and tested the analgesic effect of hyaluronic acid (HA). The levels of IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α in SMSCs and neurogenic SMSCs in the presence of neuropeptides were measured by ELISA. SP and CGRP produced by SMSCs and neurogenic SMSCs were determined by RT-PCR and Western blotting. The results showed that the expression of SP and CGRP was significantly enhanced in the neurogenic SMSCs in response to IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α, and the effect was remarkably inhibited by HA. IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α, in return, could be enhanced in the neurogenic SMSCs upon stimulation by SP and CGRP. Neuropeptides and inflammatory cytokines might work mutually on the TMD pain. The HA-mediated analgesic effect may be implicated in the inhibition of SP and CGRP expression in neurogenic SMSCs.

Objective To evaluate the myocardial blood supply in patients with metabolic syndrome (MS) using 99Tcm-MIBI SPECT MPI. Methods A total of 342 patients were divided into four groups according to the number of abnormal metabolic indices: no abnormal metabolic index (Group 1), one abnormal index (Group 2), two abnormal indices (Group 3), three or more abnormal indices (Group 4). Each patient underwent two-day protocol of gated stress and rest 99Tcm-MIBI MPI. One hundred and three of the 342 patients were clinically diagnosed as MS and underwent CAG within 1 month after MPI. χ2test was used to evaluate the difference among the four groups and Kappa test to analyze the correlation between MPI and CAG. Results Compared with CAG, the diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values by 99Tcm-MIBI SPECT MPI for coronary artery diseases (CAD) in 103 MS patients were 80.5% (33/41), 85.5% (53/62), 78.6% (33/42) and 86.9% (53/61), respectively. The correlation coefficient between MPI and CAG was 0.657 (P<0.001). The abnormal MPI rates in group 1, 2, 3 and 4 were 23.3% (10/43), 32.9% (26/79), 54.4% (56/103), and 57.3% (67/117), respectively (χ2=23.22, P<0.001). Conclusions In MS patients,99Tcm-MIBI SPECT MPI can be useful for evaluating myocardial blood supply and the myocardial ischemia rates may correlate positively with the number of abnormal metabolic indices.

Activation of acid-sensing ion channels (ASICs) plays an important role in neuroinflammation.Macrophage recruitment to the sites of inflammation is an essential step in host defense.ASIC 1 and ASIC3 have been reported to mediate the endocytosis and maturation of bone marrow derived macrophages. However, the expression and inflammation-related functions of ASICs in RAW 264.7 cells, another common macrophage, are still elusive. In the present study,we first demonstrated the presence of ASIC 1,ASIC2a and ASIC3 in RAW 264.7 macrophage cell line by using reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR),Western blotting and immunofluorescence experiments. The non-specific ASICs inhibitor amiloride and specific homomeric ASIC 1 a blocker PcTx 1 reduced the production of iNOS and COX-2 by LPS-induced activating RAW 264.7 cells.Furthermore, not only amiloride but also PcTx 1 inhibited the migration and LPS-induced apoptosis of RAW 264.7 cells.Taken together, our findings suggest that ASICs promote the inflammatory response and apoptosis of RAW 264.7 cells, and ASICs may serve as a potential novel target for immunological disease therapy.
