Objective To discuss the predictive value of multiple ultrasonic features combination in diagnosis of thyroid papillary carcinoma (PTC) more than 1.0 cm in diameter. Methods The ultrasonic features of 258 PTC nodules from 251 patients and 207 nodular goiter (NG) nodules from 190 patients in the First People′s Hospital of Hangzhou were retrospectively analyzed. All the nodules were confirmed by pathological examination after surgery. The ultrasonic features included the shape of nodules, internal echo,anteroposterior/transverse diameter ratio (A/T), and microcalcification. The χ2 test was used to analyze the differences of ultrasonic features between PTC and NG. Multi-variate analyses (Logistic regression) was used to analyze the predictive risk ultrasonic features of PTC. The sensitivity and specificity of ultrasonic features were analyzed based on the gold standard of pathological results. Results There were significantly differences between 258 PTC nodules and 207 NG nodules in irregular shape, hypoechogenicity,A/T > 1 and microcalcification (χ2 values were 121.511, 105.411, 41.483, 121.072, all P < 0.01). The results of Logistic regression showed that irregular shape, hypoechogenicity, A/T>1 and microcalcification were risk ultrasonic features of PTC. And their OR values were 5.013 (95%CI 2.919-8.610), 5.811 (95%CI 3.411-9.901), 15.399 (95%CI 7.576-31.301), 4.141 (95%CI 1.687-10.164) respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of single ultrasonic feature were 26.0%-79.5% and 71.5%-96.1%; the sensitivity and specificity of two ultrasonographic features combination were 11.2%-57.0% and 92.3%-99.0%; and the sensitivity and specificity of three or four ultrasonographic features combination were 8.1%-31.8% and 99.0%-99.5%.Conclusions Irregular shape, hypoechogenicity, A/T> 1 and microcalcification of thyroid neoplasm are important ultrasonic features of PTC. Although the sensitivity of single ultrasonic feature in diagnosing PTC is higher than that of multiple features combination, it has a lower specificity. Therefore, combination of multiple ultrasonographic features can improve the specificity in diagnosing PTC and reduce the misdiagnosis of PTC.

OBJECTIVETo investigate how network education can improve college students' knowledge on sexual and reproductive health in Ningbo city.
METHODSFrom December 2012 to June 2013, we conducted a questionnaire investigation among college students in Ningbo city about the effects of network education on their knowledge about sexual psychology, sexual physiology, sexual ethics, and reproductive health.
RESULTSA total of 7 362 college students accomplished the investigation, of whom 2 483 (42.1% males and 57.9% females) received network education, while the other 4 879 (24.1% males and 75.9% females) did not. Approximately 47.1% of the male and 28.0% of the female students acquired sexual and reproductive knowledge via network education. Reproductive health-related network education significantly enriched the students' knowledge about the reproductive system and sex, pubertal development, sexual physiology, conception and embryonic development, methods of contraception, sexual psychology, sexually transmitted diseases and their prevention, pregnancy care and eugenics, and environment- and occupation-related reproductive health (P < 0.01). It also remarkably improved their cognitive attitude towards reproductive health knowledge (P < 0.01). Those who received reproductive health-related network education showed a significantly higher rate of masturbation (P < 0.01) but markedly later time of the first masturbation (P < 0.01) than those who did not.
CONCLUSIONNetwork education can enhance the effect of reproductive health education among college students and improve their sexual experience and health.

Objective To explore the relationship between dynamic changes in ultra-micro-structural of pulmonary arteries and endogenous hydrogen sulfide in rats with left-right shunt. Methods Rats in shunt group were subjected to an abdominal aorta-inferior vena cava shunt to create an animal model of pulmonary artery structural remodeling. After 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 4 weeks and 8 weeks of experiment, the ultra-micro-morphologic changes of pulmonary arteries of rats were observed under electronic microscope and H_2S concentration in serum was evaluated by modified sulfide electrode method. Results The changes of ultra-micro-structure of pulmonary arteries were progressively exacerbated, endothelial cells became swollen and large in size on 3 days, smooth muscular cells increased in size as well as the change of endothelial cells in 1 week, and they changed from contractile phenotype to synthetic phenotype in 4 weeks. Conclusions Shunt exhibited changes of ultra-micro-structure of pulmonary arteries are accompanied by the changes of endogenous H_2S. It is suggested that endogenous H_2S might play a protective role in changes of ultra-micro-structure of pulmonary artery.

OBJECTIVETo summarize the therapeutic effect of multiple types of posterior interosseous artery flaps for repair of soft tissue defects in the upper extremities.
METHODSFrom March 2003 to June 2010, 42 cases with soft tissue defects in the upper limbs resulting from burn and traumatic injuries were treated using multiple types of posterior interosseous artery flaps, including retrograde flaps and composite flaps, antegrade flaps ,and free flaps. Flap size ranged from 2.5 cm x 2.0 cm-14.0 cm x 9.0 cm. The defects in the donor sites were closed directly or covered by skin graft.
RESULTSThe conventional retrograde posterior interosseous artery flaps were used in 11 cases, the modified retrograde posterior interosseous artery flaps were used in 13 cases, the retrograde posterior interosseous artery composite flaps incorporating partial extensors were used in 2 cases, the antegrade posterior interosseous artery flaps were used in 3 cases, the free posterior interosseous artery flaps were used in 7 cases, and the free perforator flap based on the radiodorsal septocutaneous perforator of the posterior interosseous artery were used in 6 cases. Partial necrosis happened in one case at the distal portion of the flap. Muscular branch of the posterior interosseous nerve was injured in one case with conventional reverse posterior interosseous artery flaps. All the other flaps survived uneventually with no complication. All wounds were primarily healed. 32 cases were followed up for 1 to 48 months with satisfactory aesthetic and functional results both in the donor sites and in the recipient areas. The color, texture and thickness of the flaps were satisfied as well.
CONCLUSIONSThe posterior interosseous artery flap has a constant vascular anatomy and a great flexibility, which is practical and suitable for repair of Soft tissue defect in the upper extremities arising from burn and traumatic injury.

This study was aimed to investigate the effect of advanced glycosylation end products (AGE) on the proliferation of K562 and K562/A02 cells, the effect of tetrandrine (Tet) on proliferation of K562 and K562/A02 cells induced by AGE, and their mechanisms. The effects of AGE on proliferation of K562 and K562/A02 cells and Tet on the proliferation of AGE-induced K562 and K562/A02 cells were assayed by CCK8 kit, the apoptosis rate and the expression of receptor of advanced glycosylation end products (RAGE) in K562 and K562/A02 cells were determined by flow cytometry, the expression of RAGE mRNA was detected by semi-quantitative RT-PCR. The results showed that AGE could promote the proliferation of K562 and K562/A02 cells in a concentration-dependent manner, the cell proliferation was enhanced with time increasing in 0 - 48 h, and was higher than control group after 72 h. AGE up-regulated the RAGE mRNA and protein expressions of K562 and K562/A02 cells in a concentration-dependent manner. Treatment of Tet combined with AGE for 48 h could inhibit the proliferation of K562 and K562/A02 cells promoted by AGE in a concentration-dependent manner, which probably by inducing cell apoptosis, however, there was no obvious effect in the up-regulating expression of RAGE mRNA and protein induced by AGE. It is concluded that AGE can promote the proliferation of K562 and K562/A02 cells, which is probably induced by up-regulating the expression of RAGE mRNA and protein. Tet can inhibit the proliferation of K562 and K562/A02 cells induced by AGE, and the mechanism may be not closely associated with changes of the up-regulating expression of RAGE mRNA and protein induced by AGE.

OBJECTIVETo study the expression profile of microRNAs (miRNAs) in peripheral T cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified (PTCL-NOS) and to explore the underlying molecular characteristics.
METHODSTwenty-one cases of PTCL-NOS were enrolled into the study. The tumor presented either as nodal (15/21) or extranodal (6/21) disease. TaqMan low density array was used to assess the expression level of 754 miRNAs in six cases of PTCL-NOS and three control cases of reactive lymphoid hyperplasia. Prediction of target genes for significant and differential expression of miRNAs was carried out using Targetscan and miRanda software. Bioinformatics tools were employed for GO-Analysis and Pathway-Analysis of target genes. The expression patterns of the three miRNAs were further analyzed in the remaining 15 cases of PTCL-NOS and 10 cases of reactive lymphoid hyperplasia, using single tube Taqman miRNA assays.
RESULTSEight miRNAs showed statistically significant difference in expression between PTCL-NOS and reactive lymphoid hyperplasia. miR-886-3p, miR-511, miR-1291, miR-572, miR-27a-3p, miR-25-3p and miR-886-5p were significantly overexpressed in PTCL-NOS while miR-182-5p was significantly underexpressed (P < 0.05). Target gene prediction showed that 1646 candidate genes involved in the pathogenesis and progression of PTCL-NOS. Further GO and Pathway-Analyses found that these genes significantly focused on 63 GO terms and 61 pathways. The results of three miRNA qRT-PCR confirmed that miR-572 and miR-1291 expression in PTCL-NOS had statistical significance.
CONCLUSIONSEight miRNAs are aberrantly expressed in PTCL-NOS, which may be involved in molecular regulation during the development of PTCL-NOS. The underlying mechanism is also related to a number of target genes and signaling pathways.
