2.Vascular endothelial function measured with high- resolution ultrasound in atherogenic diet feeding rabbits
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1987;0(01):-
Objective: To study the vascular endothelial function in atherogenic diet fed rabbits during a variety of feeding time. Methods: 12 Japanese big- eared rabbits were fed either a normal control diet or an atherogenic diet (containing 1 % cholesterol,5% lard and 2% yolk) for 14 weeks. At different feeding times (week0, 1,2,4,6,8,10,12,14),vascular endothelial functions ,including endothelial dependant dilation (EDD) and non- endothelial dependant dilation (NEDD) were measured with high- resolution ultrasound. Results: EDD dysfunction occurred after 1 week of atherogenic diet feeding. With continued feedings ,EDD dysfunction was progressively worse. NEDD dysfunction occurred at week 8,much later than EDD dysfunction. Conclusion :Vascular endothelial functions including EDD and NEDD in atherogenic diet fed rabbits were seriously damaged. EDD dysfunction occurred much earlier than NEDD dysfunction.
3.Interventional effect of polygonum cuspidatum sieb.et Zucc.on NOS in atherosclerosis rabbits in vivo
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(04):-
Objective:To study the interventional effect of polygonum cuspidatum sieb.et Zucc.on NOS system in vivo.Methods:Thirty-six Japanese rabbits were randomized into 6 groups:NC Group (fed normal control diet),HC group (fed atherogenic diet),SHZ group,MHZ group,LHZ group(fed atherogenic diet and three different doses of polygonum cuspidatum sieb.et Zucc.separately)and L-Arg group (fed atherogenic diet and L-arginine). At the different feeding time, the following contents were surveyed:1.serum NO,NOS,plasma ET;2.EDD and NEDD of external iliac artery in vivo;3.the area of AS plaque in thoracic aorta;4.NOS activity and the expression of iNOS mRNA and eNOS mRNA on the wall of the abdominal artery. Results:In group HC,EDD and NEDD of external iliac arteries were damaged at 1 week and 6 weeks, separately;the levels of serum NO,plasma ET and activity of NOS were elevated significantly;AS lesion was serious;the activity of NOS and expression of iNOS mRNA on the medial layer of the artery wall were much higher, the activity of NOS and expression of eNOS mRNA on endothelial cells were much lower.Except NEDD,polygonum cuspidatum sieb.et Zucc.could not only adjust the activities and expressions of disordered NOS systems on AS vessels, but also improve AS lesion in a dose-effect manner.Large dose of polygonum cuspidatum sieb.et Zucc.had the strongest effect. Conclusion:Polygonum cuspidatum sieb.et Zucc.can improve the function of the disordered NOS and lessen AS lesion on AS vessels in a dose-dependent manner.
4.Tongue-image segmentation based on gray projection and threshold-adaptive method
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2010;14(9):1638-1641
BACKGROUND:Traditional Chinese medicine glossoscopy observes tongue image by vision, and to diagnose diseases by physicians'clinical experiences, which lacks of objective diagnostic methods and criteria;finally resulting in affecting the effectiveness of this diagnostic method. Therefore,it is necessary to realize quantitive and objective glossoscopy using techniques such as computer vision.Tongue body segmentation is the premise of the tongue image recognition diagnostic system. The quality of segmentation directly affects the sequent work.At present, there are many methods of tongue body segmentation, but obtained results cannot ensure the accuracy, and the anti-interference ability is poor.OBJECTIVE:To design a new method of tongue image segmentation, and effectively isolate tongue body.METHODS:According to tongue-images gray and color's features,a segmentation method of combining gray projection and threshold-adaptive way is presented in this paper.By this method, the intensity image of a colorful tongue-image is firstly projected at horizontal and vertical direction to locate the tongue-body area, and then threshold-adaptive way Otsu is used to segment the located area.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Tongue-body segmentation is the basis of automatic tongue-images analysis. The following 281 tongue-images segmentation experiments show the efficiency of this method.
5.Relationship of seasonal variation of blood pressure with incidences of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events in patients aged 80 years and over
Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2011;30(1):38-41
Objective To investigate the effect of seasonal variation of blood pressure (BP) on the incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events in the elderly aged 80 years and over. Methods The 67 patients (aged 80-86 years) with essential hypertension were enrolled, the BP were measured at home, in consulting room, and by 24-h ambulatory BP monitor in every season for 2 years. The incidences of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events were recorded in the meantime. Results Both systolic BP (SBP) and diastolic BP (DBP) were lower in summer than in any other season (P<0. 01 ). SBP was higher in winter than in any other season. (P<0.01), DBP was higher in winter than in summer(P<0. 01). There were no significant differences in SBP and DBP between spring and autumn. The incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events were higher in winter and summer than in spring and autumn (P<0.05). The season (OR= 1. 525, P=0. 001), BMI (OR =1.145, P=0.018) and heart function (OR= 2. 037, P=0.01) were related to the incidence of cardiovascular events. And the season (OR = 1. 604, P= 0. 001 ), history of cerebrovascular disease (OR= 1. 598, P=0. 034), office-measured SBP (OR=0.960, P=0.013) and ambulatory DBP (OR =0. 936, P = 0. 008) were related to the incidence of cerebrovascular events. Conclusions The blood pressure measured by three methods in the elderly aged 80 and over shows that both SBP and DBP are at the lowest in summer; SBP is at the highest in winter, DBP is higher in winter than in summer. There are no significant differences in BP between spring and autumn. The incidences of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events are significantly higher in winter and summer than in spring and autumn.
6.The investigation of blood glucose control and complications in type 2 diabetic patients aged 80 years and over
Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2012;31(6):491-494
Objective To investigate the blood glucose control level, the characteristics of complications and treatment programme in senile patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods From Aug 2010 to Jul 2011,gender,age,height,weight,disease course and underlying disease were recorded in 119 patients with type 2 diabetes aged 80 years and over. The levels of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c),fasting C-peptide (FC-P) and 2 hours postprandial C-peptide (2h C-P),urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER) were tested.Ultrasonic Doppler examination of lower-limb arteries as well as non-mydriatic colour eye-ground photography were also examined, peripheral nerve lesions were evaluatcd according to the criteria of diabetic neuropathy system (DNS).The patients were divided into two groups:HbA1c<7.0% group (65 cases) and HbA1c ≥ 7.0 % group(54 cases). Results The disease course[(12.1±8.5)years vs.(16.6±7.5)yeas,t=3.01,P=0.003],UAER[(20.2±11.9)μg/min vs.(47.0±21.4)μg/min,t=2.48,P=0.015] and incidence of diabetic nephropathy [23.1%(15/65)vs.50.0%(27/54),x2=9.36,P=0.002] were all less in HbA1c<7.0% group than in HbA1c ≥ 7.0% group, while the levels of FC-P and 2hC P were higher in HbA1c<7.0%than in HbA1c ≥ 7.0% group[(2.1±1.2)μg/L vs.(1.5±1.0)μg/L,t=1.87,P=0.042; (6.5± 3.3)μg/L vs.(4.3 ± 2.9) μg /L,t =2.10,P =0.037].The proportion of patients who took oral hypoglycemic agents was increased while those who received insulin therapy decreased in HbA1c<7.0% group (all P=0.000).The α-glucosidase inhibitors were the most commonly used in each group, followed by metformin and insulin secretagogue, and the thiazolidinediones were rarely used, while there was no significant difference in the proportion of medicine between the groups. The overall incidence of symptomatic hypoglycemia was 23.5%(28/119).It was higher in HbA1c ≥ 7% group than in HbA1c<7.0% group[33.3%(18/54)vs.15.4%(10/65),x2 =5.20,P=0.022].However,71.4%(5/7)of the patients with hypoglycemic coma came from HbA1c<7.0% group. Conclusions There are obvious individual differences in blood glucose control and complications among senile type 2 diabetes patients, thus the characteristics of the elderly should be considered in the choice of drugs while hypoglycemic events should be paid more attention.
7.Expression of Cytokine in Peripheral Blood of Newborns with Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy and Its Clinical Significance
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1992;0(06):-
Objective To observe the expression of CD_(25),CD_(25) mRNA,interleukin-1?(IL-1?) in peripheral blood of newborns with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE) and its clinical significance. Methods The peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC) of newborns with HIE and normal controls were isolated by routine Ficoll-Hypaque,and the level of CD_(25) induced and non-induced by phytohernagglutinin(PHA) were detected by biotin-streptavidin(BSA),CD_(25) mRNA was detected by real-time PCR and IL-1? in serum was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay on the first, third and seventh day after birth. The final expressive level of CD_(25) mRNA was based on rate of CD_(25) cDNA and gluceraldehyde phosphase dehydrogenase(GAPDH).Results On the first day,the positive rates of CD_(25) induced and non-induced by PHA and IL-1? were(3.6?1.1)%,(20.9?4.8)%,(17.7?8.2) ng/L,respectively.There were significant differences in HIE group and normal controls(P0.05).Conclusions There is obvious inflammatory(rea)ction in babies with HIE.The main character of PBMC of newborns is all infantile and undifferentiated, which surface sign is infantile, and lower level of CD_(25) is expressed. However, the level of CD_(25) mRNA can be expressed consistently during the course of disease. The immunity and immune regulative response in newborns is gradually built up during the growth and can participate in recondition of brain injury caused by HIE.
