Objective To explore in vitro effects and the mechanism for FLAG regimen compared with IA regimen in P-glycoprotein-positive and -negative acute myeloblastic leukemia(AML) cell lines. Methods The expression of P-glycoprotein in K562 and K562/A02 cells were analyzed by flow cytometry. The effects of FLAG and IA on the proliferation of K562 and K562/A02 cells were detected by MTT assay. The Ara-CTP and Ara-C levels in those cells were measured by HPLC,the gene expression of hENT1 in K562 and K562/A02 cells was detected by real-time PCR. Results The positive rates of P- glycoprotein were (1.32±0.24)% in K562 cell and (97.66±3.77)% in K562/A02 cell, respectively. The expression of P- glycoprotein had no change after treated with FLAG or IA. The cytotoxicity to K562 of IA was better than FLAG [(84.41±9.33) % v.s (73.17±13.20)%, P<0.05], and the cytotoxicity to K562/A02 of FLAG was better than IA [(70.55±11.32)% v.s (48.46±12.81)%, P<0.01]. Ara-C and Ara-CTP accumulation and hENT1 expression in AML cells treated with FLAG were higher than that treated with IA. Conclusion P-glycoprotein-positive AML cells are more sensitive to FLAG regimen than IA regimen. The biochemical modulation of Ara-CTP and Ara-C may be the major mechanism.

Objective To detect the apoptosis and the intensity of proliferation in different types of renal pathology in children with lupus nephritis (LN), analyzed the relationship between apoptosis and proliferation in LN. Methods Twenty - seven children (aged 7-16 years old, 21 type IV and 6 type V ) with biopsy- proven LN and nine as controls were included in the study. Apoptosis was detected by in situ nick- end labeling techniques (TUNEL) in renal biopsy samples. Immunohistochemistry was employed to detect the proliferating cells identified by proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and detect the expressions of proteins of apoptosis associated gene PDCD5 and Caspase - 3 in these patients. Results 1. Compared to type V LN, the patients with type IV LN had more apoptolic cells,more PCNA positive cells and higher ratios of PCNA/apoptosis (P/A) in glomeruli. 2. There were no difference in expression of PDCD5 in glomeruli in type IV LN compared with those in type V LN. Numbers of apoptotic cells were observed in glomeruli. The expression of Caspase- 3 in type IV LN increased in glomeruli compared with that in type V LN. Conclusions The up- regulation of mechanism of apoptosis in type IV LN was less than that of type V LN. Caspase- 3 participated in the apoptosis of glomeruli of LN, but PDCD5 did not play a role during apoptosis of glomeruli of LN or the effect of PDCD5 promoting apoptosis was depressed.

ObjectiveTo summarize the curative effect of l aparoscopic cholecys tectomy (LC) combined with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST) for cholelithiasis concurrent with choledoc holithiasis.MethodsERCP and EST were applied in 210 patients suspected for c holedocholithiasis before (164 cases) or after (46 cases)LC.Results ERCP dis closed choledocholithiasis in 69 patients before LC, and then stones were comple tely removed by EST in 63 patients, with a clearance rate of 91 3% (63/69); ERC P revealed residual cholelith in 9 patients after LC, and 8 of them were cured by EST, with a clearance rate of 88 9% (8/9).ConclusionsLC co mbined with ERCP and EST for cholelithiasis concurrent with choledocholithiasis is safe and effec tive, keeping patients free from open surgery.

This paper aimed to introduce and review the antioxidant and material base of selaginella medicinal plants.On the basis of the systematic identification of selaginella medicinal plants,we found that the ethyl acetate extract and flavonoids could inhibit the activity of XOD,LOX or/and COX-2 to some extent.Fourteen biflavonoids,one flavonoid and five flavonoid glycosides have been isolated from three resource plants,among them five compounds were firstly reported and fifteen compounds were firstly isolated in selaginella plants.Amentoflavone (AME),robustaflavone and robustaflavone-4''-dimethylether are three common characteristic constituents of selaginella plants,which can act as marks of common active ingredients and be applied to evaluate the quality of selaginella.Further studies found that some plants had stronger anti-Coxsackie virus and anti-tumor effects,and their mechanisms were associated with inhibiting multiple oxidase and mitigating harm of free radicals due to whole function.

Objective To explore the maternal toxicity and offspring's neurobehavioral effects in Wistar rats induced by exposure to methylmercury during pregnancy. Methods Methylmercury were continuously orally perfued with different doses of 0.00, 0.01, 0.05 and 2.00 mg/(kg?d) to 52 pregnant Wistar rats during the 6th～9th day after conception. The toxicity to maternal rats was observed and general teratology test were carried out. The parameters of physical and neurobehavioral develpment at early stage of 205 offspring were measured and the operant behavior test of 32 offspring was carried out at the age of 10 weeks. The brain's morphology and the levels of monamine neurotransmitter were tested in 24 maternal rats after 5 weeks of the delivery and 24 offspring in 10 weeks old. Objective To determine the value of vascular indication of sexual excitation response (VISER) in the diagnosis of erectile dysfunction (ED). Methods Fifty three cases of ED underwent PGE1 intracavernous injection,VISER and color duplex ultrasonography.The comparison of the results was performed. Results Forty three cases were in Porst Grade 3, whose average cavernous pressure and carvenous pressure index were 144.29 mmHg and 1.24,respectively.Of them,42 cases were of normal penile vascular function,the remaining one was of venous ED;10 cases were in Porst Grade 2, whose average cavernous pressure and carvenous pressure index were 87.76 mmHg and 0.81,respectively.There were significant differences in the average cavernous pressure and carvenous pressure index between the two groups ( P
