Serum anti-uveal autoantigen with coiled coil domains and ankyrin repeats (UACA) antibody titer was measured using ELISA in 32 patients with thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy ( TAO ) and 20 patients with Graves' disease (GD) without ophthalmopathy.The level of anti-UACA antibody in TAO group was higher than that in GD group [ (225.91 ± 144.21 vs 187.42 ± 46.77 ) pg/ml,P＜0.05 ],and especially higher in patients with ocular myopathy [ (254.35 ± 168.29 ) pg/ml ].It seems that anti-UACA antibody is the sensitive clinical marker of ocular myopathy in TAO patients.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the possible beneficial effects of administration of Naoluo Xintong Recipe (NLXT) on the expression of HSP70 and bFGF in rats subjected to ischemia-reperfusion with qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome. METHODS: We blindly randomized 40 male Wistar rats into 5 groups which were categorized as follows: (1); sham-operated group; (2) rats subjected to transient middle cerebral artery (MCA) occlusion with qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome (control group); (3) NLXT-treated group; (4) NLXT-pretreated group; (5) Nao'an Capsule-treated group. Focal brain ischemia was induced by the intraluminal suture MCA occlusion method after qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome had been made. The rats' brains were harvested at the 24h of reperfusion after 2h of MCA occlusion. The expression of HSP70 and bFGF was measured by by immunohistochemical staining. RESULTS: Strong HSP70 immunoreactivity in neurons was observed in NLXT-treated and NLXT-pretreated groups as compared to control group, and increased bFGF immunoreactivity in neurons was observed in the ischemic hemisphere in NLXT-pretreated group in comparison with the ischemic hemisphere in the control group (P<0.01). NLXT has stronger effects on HSP70 and bFGF than Nao'an Capsule. CONCLUSION: The neuroprotective effects of Naoluo Xintong Recipe may be related to its up-regulation of HSP70 and bFGF in the rat brain after focal cerebral ischemia.

Objective: Based on overcoming the adverse effect of endogenous problem of causality; to study the effect of health insurance for the health of the elderly. Methods: To apply limited information maximum likelihood method and introduce instrumental variables for two-phase analysis. Results: The more to types of medical insurance participated, the easier the risk of chronic diseases could be reduced, but unfavorable to improve self-reported health. Conclusion: The government should develop social insurance under New Rural Cooperative Medical System, to improve the abilities of the elderly in participating in medical insurance.

TCM has a long history of treating diseases, which makes great contribution to people,s health in history. In the last decades, TCM has been considered as a method in fighting against AIDS, it get some experience and achievement. TCM has some advantages, such as enhancing immune function, improving quality of life, especially reducing or removing the symptoms. The Chinese medicine has many targets and whole curative effect in treating AIDS, so the curative effect evaluation that adopts immune function combined with virus load, clinical symptom and objective sign is to be in line with clinical fact.

Objective To study of the activities of choline acetyltransferase (ChAT ) and cholinesterase(CHE) in non-dementia vascular cognitive impairment (VCIND)patients ,and explore its mechanism .Methods Sixty-one patients with VCIND were select-ed as the research group (which accord with Rockwood diagnostic criteria for cognitive dysfunction but not meet the NINDS-ARI-IEN diagnostic criteria for vascular dementia)and 75 healthy people in the same period as the control group .Venous blood was col-lected in the early morning and serum was separated in both of the two groups .The activities of ChAT and CHE were detected by spectrophotometric method .Results The activity of ChAT in the research group(120 .94 ± 23 .93) U/mL was increased significant-ly than the control group(64 .88 ± 12 .23) U/mL(P<0 .01) ,while there was no significant difference in CHE activity between the two groups(P>0 .05) .Conclusion The increased activity of ChAT in VCIND patient and enhance the synthesis of acetylcholine , which may be a compensatory mechanism of VCIND .

Objective: To check the influencing factors on elderly health status, especially the influences of financial support on elderly health. Methods: By controlling the endogenous, it empirically analyzed the relationship between financial support and the elderly health. Results: It is found that the overall health status self-evaluation of the elderly are well. Financial support, gender, registered permanent assistance, elderly economical condition ( wherher have savinh) and elderly Activity Center have insignificant effects on the elder health, especially financial support. Conclusion:To improve the national health level and relieve the pressure of the ageing population, the government can increase the income of middle-young people, increase pension and improve activity facilities.

OBJECTIVE To investigate distribution and drug resistance status of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia.METHODS Microscan WalkAway-40 automatic analyzer from American Dade Company was used to identify bacteria.PCIZ and NC11 combination plate was used to perform susceptibility test in vitro.The data were analyzed by WHONET5.3 software.RESULTS The susceptibility to 15 antibiotics was tested in 42 clinic isolates of S.maltophilia from Jan 2005 to Sept 2006.The drug susceptibility test showed that SMZ-TMP had the lowest resistance rate(21.4%).Then resistance rate of S.maltophilia to cefoperazone-sulbactam was 23.8%.And 100.0% isolates were resistant to imipenem and aztreonam.CONCLUSIONS S.maltophilia has natural broad-spectrum resistance.We should strengthen its monitoring and control.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of low tension,anti-reflux Roux-y sigmoid neobladder. Methods Using modified ureterocolostomy and colorectostomy,low tension Roux-y sigmoid neobladders were formed on 12 cases of bladder cancer and 1 case of vesicovaginal fistula.The surgical procedures involved making an “inversive valve” into the bowel lumen about 1.5 cm above the Roux-y anastomotic stoma and anastomosing the ureter and colon by Leadbetter method;then the reservoir was made by detubularization of sigmoid.Postoperatively,blood electrolytes and acid-base balance, and urination were monitored. Results During the follow-up of 0.5~5 years,only 2 cases had occasional fever;no hydronephrosis, no disorder of acid-base balance occurred.The blood electrolytes were within the normal range.And no one had incontinence. Conclusions The low tension,anti-reflux Roux-y sigmoid neobladder is a surgical technique of less trauma and with less complications.
